Looking to add the ability to block Stormveil ballista bolts and dragon breath attacks with this spell - At the moment I have added a second bullet that will block small physical projectiles (crossbow bolts). 'Dark force' blocks magic projectiles, 'force' blocks small physical projectile - Is it possible to also defend against the above (or to give the placebo that I have)?
#[Solved] Thop's barrier (Spell)

I would check out the bullet params for Cherishing Fingers. That spell can deflect both. It appears to have duplicate bullets where everything is identical, except one is set to "Force" and the other is "Dark Force"
OK cool, I'll revisit this spell and playtest it to see if it blocks the ballista bolts & dragon breath - I had initially dismissed it when I saw that the bullet params appeared identical thops/eternal darkness/storm wall (:
Partial solve!! Simple check box within the bullet param - as thop's barrier uses dark force, tick that box to allow it to stop that bullet - the 'force' checkbox works the same with the likes of storm wall
This needs to be done for all enemy bullets however - Can anyone guide me on how to use mass edit to do this? Would have to do it responsibly, or else it could be interesting to see what the impact is like when applied to every bullet (:
select all rows you want to edit, then right click on the number next to the checkbox you want to activate, click mass edit and where it says " = " you want to put 1 and click on the " = " button, then click 'submit' and you'll have all rows you selected with that param checked
i had to do the same thing a while ago and the only problem is you'll want to select the bullets that are projectiles, because if you do it on AoE bullets for example it looks a bit bad
Thank you chief!! 🫡 I’ll look into this tomorrow - is there a handy way you found to help differentiate between which are projectiles and which are AoE bullets? 🙃
there's not much, the good thing a lot of enemy bullets have a name, so you can guess if it's named, but if not you can go enemy by enemy in DSAS and look in each attack which bullets are they triggering... this method sucks time but it's the most precise, I suggest going for the most common bullets and main bosses first tho
@lunar edge Thank you! I've tried the blanket approach and all seems OK! Few fps drops but idk if that's related to this edit or not - I'll keep playtesting it and see which bullets I'd rather not be able to deflect, but I don't see myself relying too heavily on this spell, but damn is it great just to walk straight into dragon fire!! 🫡
that looks amazing! similar to the one I'm making, but i don't have the fps drops so idk, hope to see more things you make with those cool spells
Thank you!! I’ve fixed the fps drops now (I think) turns out I just had a stray reference within the Magic tab of spectral rings of light 🙂
yeah usually bullets are the problem haha
