I've just got into modding Elden Ring and thought it was going to be relatively easy as that is what the mods I was trying to install led me to believe.
I am just trying to get the 101 sorceries mod to work for now.
The config has been edited to what I think are the correct names, do tell me if I was wrong.
The path is as it is as that is how I think the mod folder should be handled because otherwise I don't see how you would get multiple mods active at once.
I have tried using UXM as well. It has been both unpacked and patched, the mod still doesn't work. I assume the way to do that step is just press 'Unpack' and 'Patch' one after the other, which is how I did it.
Mod Engine is not in my OneDrive, although it used to be.
Any help is appreciated

That mod is currently not supported for the current version of the game, so you’ll have to downpatch to use it
I see. How would I do that if you don't mind me asking? And is checking the mod page every so often the only way to find out whether or not it has updated? Thanks for the help

Hello. Sorry to bother again, but it does seem that I have done something wrong in the installation method as I chose a mod that was made 2 days ago this time, did the same process as I did before, and it still did not work. What else am I missing here? and what do I put in the dll part of the mod engine if the mod does not have a dll file? Just leave it blank?
having same issue here, fresh mod engine 2, fresh mod that claims it's updated to the latest SOTE version, nothing appears to happen in the game
as i understand, dlls go to mod loader, not mod engine
i have added a fps unlock to mine, and mod loader activated it correctly, unlike mod engine
Thanks for responding. I haven't heard of mod loader, is it a separate thing from the mod engine or am I just missing it within mod engine? Also does the modengine2 launcher.exe do anything for you, because it doesn't do anything for me
yes, mod loader is a separate tool that is used to inject dll mods

ML seems to be rather straigtforward
like i said this one worked just fine for me, even when launching from steam, but when using the Mod Engine's launcher game launches but mods are not loaded, and i have no idea why
I've just checked it out, and whilst it does seem to be used in Seamless Coop which I will be doing at some point, it unfortunately isn't used for the mods I am planning on using. Thanks for telling me about it though. It does answer one question I was having.
yeah ML seems to be for minor mods that involve performance in some way
i was trying to install a pack of Clever's weapons, tried pretty much every configuration of stuff putting ME2 in different folders, replacing all kinds of regulation files and it still won't work
i know there's a whole another issue of having to merge regulation files, but for the purpose of figuring it out i tried only adding one mod, still didn't help
I'm rather hoping a more experienced modder decides to read this as the original one seems to have left it here. That might only happen if I create a new post though

I read through this document whilst trying to install the mod the first time, and got a lot of usefulness out of it. I think the only thing must be that I'm suffering some severe blindness though as I can't see what's causing it to not work here. Terribly sorry about that.

i went to mod engine github and gonna try using 2.0 instead of 2.1, cuz that's what i downloaded today and it didn't work
i just tried downloading a different mod in case the first one was broken, despite saying it's updated for 1.12.4

so i went and took a mod published within last 24 hours
and it appears to be working
so mod engine is in fact functional
so i suppose it's the mods fault that it won't load after all
What did you do differently to me? I have images of what I did at the beginning of the thread

i just took a very fresh mod, put it where it should be and started the bat file
mod was torrent in abyssal woods obviously

i don't actually know if it matters which one you use, but if this worked then it's fine
i will test further when my acc is free from my brother in a couple hours
it's really annoying to turn off the router to test and then have to wait for it to turn back on to report here
so far my understanding is, it won't load outdated mods
but how to tell if a mod is outdated i have no idea, and clearly i have a fresh mod as well that refuses to load so there might be something else
this serptent hunter mod did not work, neither did the moveset pack, but they all appear to be updated within a week so it's still a mystery
I will test an idea I just had. Currently my mod I want to add is an armour mod, but I also have an older armour mod which might be getting in the way. I'll see whether I can fix it by removing the original older mod from the folder

Is your problem just the two mods you listed?
It may be worth mentioning that the mod for me only worked when I changed the folder name within the mod folder to the name of the folder the mod was wishing to change. For weapons and armour, that file name is parts
It used to be something different and only worked when I changed the name

but for me it's multiple
cuz it's a complex mod with unique fx animations and sounds

I did not check kale but the changed movesets did work for the weapons I had already aquired
