#Porting a texture from DS3 to DS2

Hello there, I found a cool Pursuer armor mod for DS3 and I would like to port it to DS2 to cosplay as a Pursuer, and perhaps if the port is good post it on NexusMods.

I have some experience with DSMap, enough to actually make ingame data for the armor, but I don't know how to convert the DCX files in files readable by DS2. I tried using Yabber, but I didn't understand how to do it properly, can someone help me?

The texture as I said is already there, I just have to convert it

Yabber and Yapped are outdated and no longer supported. Please instead use WitchyBND and Dark Souls Map Studio, respectively.

#

Copy an appropriate dcx folder from ds2

#

That is similiar to what you want in the game in terms of file location and type

#

Unpack with witchy

#

Unpack the thing you are porting with witchy

#

Follow the export settings guide on the souls modding wiki for the textures and export them for ds2

#

Put them in the unpacked ds2 folder, get rid of the stuff that isn’t needed. Change the WitchyBND xml to include those new files.

#

Repack

#

Change the references in the materials/textures section in flver editor of the model appropriately to reference the new textures

#

Save and done

#

Dan’s isn’t used for any of this unless you are adding a completely new armor and not replacing

Ok I got through the unpacking part, installing updated software and followed the Wiki, but I don't understand one thing

I wanted to replace the Steel Set in DS2 with this Pursuer Set from DS3, I unpacked both

#

The unpacked DS3 partsbnd has 3 files, the XML, the FLVER and the TPF

#

And that's fine

#

But the unpacked DS2 model is different

#

Inside there are the XML, the FLV, three TPF files and an ACB file. Which stuff "isn't needed" and which is needed?

Low renders far away, high renders close

Unpack the tpfs

#

Of everything

#

Tpf is a folder

#

XML has to be edited
