#Can we get a Q&A dedicated to NA and EU population

Ever since the 120 era (Or maybe since Eisen release), game has been in a steady focus of incitating players to just gear up, gear up, and gear up. Build up ALR/DES 2 and make sure to have all those BiS items if you want to keep that access to the latest content. Advancements make it worse with being insanely expensive in resources, especially enhancement rune. Feels like guaranteed enhancement except you need to pay for every reforge. A lot of people don't like an expensive system, requiring either an heavy investment in gearing or to sacrifice that heavy gear investment for an outfit. Everything's expensive and people are getting tired of it, not an NA or EU mindset to like being squeezed dry.

That being the main problem, alongside other game changes that are non-contributive to the game but implemented in our versions, regardless of our excitement or, in certain cases, high dissatisfaction (Like the face changes). It only feels more micromanaging that we have to go with everything with no say and no consideration of our perspective and interests, and with a tight noose around stats so we can keep up with battles' sharp increase in boss stats and their requirements.

And anytime we try to address these issues, we're either often met with silence or just effectively told to "deal with it, it is how it is". Comes with a premium appearance alteration coupon if we get a word back, for apologies. Something we're tired about since all the changes we get only correlate with what the Korean playerbase want mostly, and goes mostly to the opposite of what we actually want. Effectively, and something I'm witnessing personally more and more, it's causing any player to quit the game, whether they are new players or long time players (Even with years of activity on their account).

To provide a few (or many) hot topics:
Forced requirements for battles are annoying (RAR and red moons);
Gearing is a pain with some materials being highly hard to acquire (like Sealed Power Fragments and runes);
Uaithne shop throwing accessory fragments out for the sake of "enjoying the farm", effectively complicating gear upgrades even more;
Stats increasing sharply and content gets way harder, requiring more and more BiS builds;
Destruction requirements being kept/not lowered for STDs despite how weak it is with the new damage formula;
Deific Devotion being mostly a frustration since Tarian steels are taking room in it (being by far the most common pity drop) and depending on core boosts;
STD 4's NA/EU requirements still not being disclosed, especially considering EU will be doomed;
How we hate STD requirements in general, being insanely high and especially requiring BiS builds specifically;
Drop tables being outdated (Blue enhancement elixirs in RAR, dump loot in raids, useless ores from Red Moons, outdated Spirit Remnants, purposelessness of all these erg crystals other than expertise);
Lack of inventory space with more and more materials being added to the game;
Uaithne Remnants still being useless and highly overpriced to use.

So in another hope of getting any communication, I strongly think a dedicated Q&A Discord event, from players to the DEV team, would be highly contributable to pass our feedback/worries straight to the developers, on the biggest concerns the community points to. It could be about posting a question, let the community vote on which are most pertinent or wishing an answer for.

We're often posting feedback in this server to try and get attention on what we consider huge irritants or meaningless implementations, but all it is is a one way... Or no way conversation, since nothing significant happens nowadays, we're just being put in restrictions we keep arguing against.

Screaming into the void until they turn our servers offline, aren't they such a great and caring company?

They need is money, no more

If we rock the boat too much they would just shut the game down with little warning like they did to Dungeon fighter.
Enjoy Vindictus for what it is while it lasts. You will miss it when is gone.

Enjoying something and tolerating bs is not necessarily the same thing, and to "enjoy" the one or two aspects of the game people USED to like - because let's be frank, boss design lately has made the combat people would almost unanimously praise not be nearly as popular as it used to be

#

The 125 bosses have in no small part created new problems that did not need to exist by creating bosses that are either too unpredictable to preempt sometimes, or are so badly tested that stuff isn't even happening when it visibly looks like it should

I think some of the points, or the general feel that you've posted is similar to an earlier thread (https://discord.com/channels/529656246962356244/1383094371733344286) though I think the point needs reiterating. We want a space where feedback feels more genuinely heard, considered, and responded to in a more direct way, and it certainly feels like KR gets the most consideration (though that may be arguably due to KR being the bigger market for the game I guess).

With the updates for the new STD, we get a blurb at the end stating that they apologize for the disappointment felt by players and that they will work to build more "anticipation instead of disappointment," noting that they'll listen and reflect more on feedback. I think this would have more impact if they actually looked through the feedback and more directly responded to it in some ways (which I think is an aspect of what's being suggested here). I know that I suggested the use of actual feedback surveys to address key updates, player response, concerns/bugs, etc., though the team didn't seem confident that it would be received well (if at all). While this isn't a Q&A necessarily, the idea of more direct contact/response still being the unifying issue present.

the more we approach christmas, the more the game will die

Christmas is usually pretty busy with events. And there will be a lot of hype for the new Character plus STD4.

Actions speak louder than words. If people want the NA server to change, then they need to change the way they play. Tired of grinding? Just refuse to grind. Get all your friends to refuse to grind. Play the whole game with nothing but freebie gear and ignore the latest raids.

I guarantee something will happen in response if the entirety of the server just stops "playing the game" as it is set out in front of them. Chances are, they'll try to entice people back in with extreme FOMO that goes further and further if players don't respond. They might even threaten to close the entire server 😂. On the other hand, there's a chance that they'd actually bother to make meaningful changes if they're not willing to axe their entire western player base.

But if we're being realistic, gamers are not activists. Especially not on Vindictus. Nobody is actually going to stand up to the squeeze.

Imagine if we had someone to relay our feedback and devs response

Idk we could call it Community Manager or something

Meanwhile CMs of another game: announcement of the announcement, livestream reveal, Q&A with game directors, another Q&A with game director.

Our CMs: yeah lets stay silent

500 usd/month for ignoring our feedback topics btw

if that actually stood any chance of working people would have done it by now, but there's several reasons it never would -

  1. good luck getting an entire server to coordinate that level of patty tantrum thinking we're important enough to the dev team
  2. it would more likely have them cut losses and discontinue anything not KR at that point
  3. they already don't listen to anything not KR, us going silent won't change a thing when they don't listen anyways

People are standing up to them....they just stop playing. we are just watching the game slowly die and honestly i think thats the plan with the hopes of having us all move to Vindi Defying fate

You mean the game that won’t make it a year whenever it’s finally released because it’s a gutted, pathetic imitation of a soulslike, rendition of vindi?

barren musk

that makes no sense

game dying 20 years now

brittle needle

I mean they've had years to care. And Nexon has a bunch of other games (Mostly mobile, in Asia that we don't have access to here) and is a multi billion dollar company. They would be fine shutting Vindi down before actually trying to improve it because this is just a number for them. If they really wanted it to thrive, they would've done something for us years ago.

He is not a dev. He doesn't speak Korean. His job responsibilities are purely to moderate this server and manage announcement embeds

#

Should he come make a bunch of empty promises that never get completed? Lol

#

He forwards literally every piece of non-dupe feedback and that is the extent of what his power allows him to do

#

I don't mean to be a simp or anything but I also don't like people bitching about things that are clearly rooted in their delusions rather than reality

wet dove
#

tbh, even if we had someone who actually pestered the vindi team to look after NA/EU's wants and needs, I am almost certain nexon's response is most likely going to be to quietly replace with someone less annoying for them

deep wyvern

Yep. Asian management culture is VERY top down

Squeaky underlings get shoved into a closet somewhere where they can't be seen or heard

gloomy edge

They expect everyone to be a modern day Admiral Ye. The national hero of united Korea.
You can tell a lot about a people by who their hero is. Admiral Ye was an underling and servant to the King of Korea who was often mistreated by the other nobility and had his life ruined several times. But he always did what he was told and even saved the country from total destruction. He was hardly recognized for his valiant service while he was still alive despite being the most talented naval officer who ever lived. It was only after he was gone that people recognized how much he did to serve Korea.
If you compare him to the national hero of America who is George Washington. It is the complete opposite. Washington betrayed his king and country and founded a new country for himself. Americans are a bunch of rebels while the Koreans value faithful order takers. Both strategies work but they are total opposites. You will never see a Korean talk back to the boss while in America it is expected if there is a serious issue that needs to be corrected.
