I would like to add an idea to it.
Players could buy their own farms to grow different things there.
Each farm could be customised, with different sizes, functions and yield potential. Small farms are ideal for growing vegetables such as carrots, lettuce or potatoes, while larger areas could provide space for orchards with trees such as apples, pears and lemons. Players would have the option of either selling their harvest themselves or concluding supply contracts with shops, restaurants and traders.
In addition, special farms could be created that cultivate exotic or more demanding plants such as coffee, herbs or even flowers. These could have a higher value, but also require more care and special materials such as fertilisers or irrigation systems.
Additional mechanics could be introduced to further deepen the farming job:
Field expansion: players could expand or modernise their farms with increasing experience or investment.
Co-operative farming: Players could join forces to farm large fields together.
Dynamic market prices: Prices for products could be based on supply and demand.
Expansion: Mines as Additional Farms
In addition to traditional farms for growing crops, players could also acquire mines to extract raw materials. These mines could introduce a new dimension to the farming system, enriching the game world with further opportunities.
Types of Mines:
Different types of mines could be offered, such as:
Stone Mines: For extracting raw stone, which could later be processed into building materials.
Precious Metal Mines: For rare resources like gold, silver, or platinum.
Coal Mines: For supplying factories with energy or as a raw material for industrial processes.
Extraction and Processing:
Players would need to extract raw materials and then process them in specialized workshops or factories. For instance:
Stones could be cleaned, burned, and turned into cement or refined stone.
Precious metals could be smelted and used for jewelry, electronics, or other applications.
Equipment and Maintenance:
Special tools like pickaxes, helmets with lights, and shovels would be required for mining. Players would need to maintain their equipment regularly and replace it as needed.
Sales and Usage:
Extracted materials could be sold to merchants, construction companies, or other players. They could also serve as raw materials for crafting systems, enabling the creation of vehicles, weapons, or construction projects.
Cooperation:
Larger mines could be operated by groups of players or companies working together to achieve higher efficiency and better yields.
By introducing mines as an expansion to farming, the system would not be limited to crop cultivation but would also play a crucial role in the resource trade and industrial economy. This addition would diversify the farming system and encourage interaction between various professions.
