I thought it would be a neat idea to organise an event or make a thread where people can share their progress in any medium over the years, whether it be art, music, cooking, photography. Granted, this may be something which already belongs to its respectful hobby channels but I believe that having all of those gathered in one place could help motivate users and remind them that we all start somewhere and not matter how fast or slow we improve, progress is progress :)
What do y'all think?
(this came from @lime monolith amazing progress post in the staircase
)
#"Show your progress" thread

Love this idea
If this were an event, how would the progress be captured and what time frame would it need to showcase tangible progress?

an event would be a good incentive for people to post. We could possibly compile it all in a thread for people to have access on all of the progress posts and possibly post some more if they'd like.
In terms of time frame it entirely depends on a persons progress, some see progress rather quickly and others take longer, although I think we'd get the best results if it were annual. It can be one per year (2021, 2022, 2023) or several year gap (2018, 2023) depending on their preferences
That's one long event
I think considering the time frame this is better suited for a thread
Actually might be a nice tie in with the yearly resolutions
Or something similar like that
Is there an internationally observed talent day or week or anything?
ooo i didn't mean as in a year long event
as in it could be an event that spans across a week or so and people will post their progress from a certain year to the present or something like that sfdkgjh so sorry for the confusion
it would be great with the yearly resolutions indeed, i'll look for a talent day/week as well
theres a unique talent day on november 24th, a world art day on april 15th
unique talent day : 24th november
world art day : 15th april
hobby month : january
i feel like it would suit those days best, art may be a little too specific though?
Hobby Month actually sounds great
Sad we missed this year's
But we can still open a thread
indeed 😔 but hey we always have next year
where do you think would be the best place to open a thread? it was one of my main problematics

how about in grandstaircase case itself
very true, i fear that the grand staircase will limit it to art only when it could very well be progress in music or in photography but it'll most likely be used most for art anyways?

I don't see why we can't do it in #978360042749321256 itself
It is accessible to all
that's very true
It's a default channel so people who don't have the role can also participate
