#Another Boss Fight!

too confusing
That's fair enough, which console to trigger on the upper level should probably be clearer, and also the route there a bit clearer.
Also I'm not totally happy with the jump pad implementation yet
Yep that's fair too! Lower one I probably won't change, but upper one maybe
this is sick asf bro
in my opinion you can make the fight more clearer, and the enviroment hinting at what you should do as well a bit more. otherwise it's very sick
Thanks, don't worry, I thought it was perfectly fair feedback! There's actually a red pulsing particle effect that shows the active console, but it's too small and pale - I think I'll make a beam of some kind link the console and the boss whilst he's recharging π
After X number of actions, he's also meant to appear unpowered temporarily. Not sure why that's not working.
Will you publish it on curseforge?π₯Ή
Alas not sorry, but it'll be on the store, and it won't be expensive.
It's also f***ing massive, it's a whole huge city map, with a whole bunch of bosses, enemies, dungeons etc
So I reworked the arena: the upper platform is bigger, and the consoles are replaced by more jump pads.
Every time the big phantom appears, a random sequence of jump pads will activate, and the player needs to get to the third floor (the one above the current upper level) in order to break a new "power orb" thing, that despawns the phantom and takes 20% of the boss's health π
Will post that later on
The Tuff "shrines" that housed the consoles are now enlarged and house jump pads
I'll also slow the boss's powering up sequence (when the phantom appears) to give the player an additional second to get to a pad
So it's a world?
Are you the one that made that one sky city map? If so, if you made that an addon where the city naturally generates, it would be super sick
Yep!!
The appropriate way to phrase my response appears to be: "Yes, it's-a me-a, Mario!"
The original concept was actually exactly for it to naturally generate, but at the time I started building, world generation/features weren't able to support that.
If people actually buy this next version in any meaningful numbers, then I probably will do that tho lol.
What is the name of that map?
Legacy Cities I'm pretty sure
Thanks
Yep, that's right
We think the title is part of why it didn't sell. Not very optimised...
Next version will be substantially updated, I've changed a lot of the map, added and changed enemies, overhauled the various systems, added loads of bosses, scrapped the original plot, etc etc.
Only problem is that I'm also trying to do my dayjob, build a house, and sustain my relationships lol. Hard to make as much time to work on the game as I'd like.
What is the addon?
Honestly, it might just sell way better as a whole if the entire thing was an addon, reasons being:
-
with the new updates rolling out breaking maps, people are starting to lose trust in worlds on the marketplace
-
If it was an addon, it would kinda insane honestly and would definitely classify as one of the most insane addons the marketplace has to offer
Making it as a map initially is a good place to start, though, and I really like the artstyle and direction itβs going. Keep it up
Will let you know the name when finalised ππ
Thanks, I do agree, but I think it'd have to wait until after the new map. It shouldn't be long, and I'd definitely like to return to the original idea of procedurally generated "Legacy Cities", since I think that now most of what's needed is out of Experimental, or will be soon π
Ohβ¦
It's so good!
It's so good!!
