Not right now it doesn't. But maybe they'll tie in the APIs for such in scripting.

let say we have a structure with a specific design that we want to keep when scaling it
by slicing it to 24 (or whatever) and keppeing the corners as they are we can archive a good result
that might actually work using JIgsaw

Is there a use case left for regular structure template features?
Ive read:
- structures that dont want to be located
- Smaller structures that dont need jigsaws capabilitties and tedious setup.

It never really worked and it is technically considered a feature like dungeons and desert wells.
I dont really see a need to add locate support when jigsaws exists.
That forces you setup jigsaws for all structures you want people to be able to /locate
You just have to weigh your pros and cons.
Because yeah, technically struxture template is a feature like desert wells.
It's just the way it has to be. When you use locate or a locator map on jigsaw structures, the engine can use very cheap math to figure out where the nearest such structure is.
There is no way they could ever add this functionality to structure template features. When I do feature generation, I can add structures anywhere — at any coordinates in any chunk. It'd just be impossible to calculate ahead of time where the nearest structure would be.

Can this jigsaw stuff be used in a way that doesn't auto-generate during world gen? Say, I only wanted to drop a structure while the player is moving in an area, but it would be nice if the structure could have the interior randomly set with scenes inside. Could a jigsaw pool be used in the structure without having it run during world gen?
This is a part I am yet to explore myself, but I would think you'd either use a processor to change blocks in the structure, or use internal jigsaws that places some stuff randomly, though this part seems less optimal.
Pretty sure, just use scripting or commands.
A Structure Set contains a set of Jigsaw Structures and rules for how those structures should be placed in the world relative to other instances of structures from the same set.
Just omit this.
My latest obsession has been an endless exploration routine that generates chunk-size room tiles as the player runs around. It would be nice if I could offload some of the randomness to some built-in code.
Of course I'm also randomly rotating the structures as I place them
But then, I'm already generating the structures programmatically at runtime, so I suppose I just need to roll my own feature solution.

Their current focus are jigsaw structures. And they're also doing internal work to pave the way for custom biomes
