would like to be able to create my own templates for patterns, as well custom items as colors for patterns.

What do you mean by "custom items as colors for patterns"?

We do have thoughts to expand armor trim but nothing on the roadmap in the near term.

I mean by “custom items for patterns” it is possible to use custom items for colors, for example, like in vanilla you can use diamond for blue, in an addon with this feature it will be possible to use other items for other colors, for example “addon:amber” will be used for orange color
