So back to the original question. Where do I need to look to make the hud_title_text or actionbar text split, like in OP's screenshot? Is it string formatting or anim_type properties like clip or preserve title text?

You can have a title with bindings

#

This is basically just string formatting with title

Unless your running a server and have plugins scoreboards could be used

I've made a resource pack that moves the actionbar, scoreboard, and title so I've done some work with it. I'm trying out the bindings now.

created elements based off the hud_title stack panel and added as single entry in root_panel

performed string operations on #hud_title_text_string in bindings of the created elements

took a little bit to get there but wasn't too bad

I commented some to help explain where you'd need to edit stuff to fit your own titleraws, since string operations are based on length of the title message.
