Yep as a Mojang employee I can confirm Microsft told us to remove HCF

Basically it was something along the lines of wanting to cause the breakdown of the fabric of the community so they can proceed with their plans of world domination.
Microsoft wants to kill off third-party addons to push the narrative of marketplace harder, that is why no marketplace content broke (no other reason trust)

Just gotta change run_command to queue_command for entities
Only difference between the two is that queue_command runs at the end of the tick instead of instantly upon being called

at this point I'm starting to consider making a HCF-like replacement script
If HCF got removed because everything under it was removed/replaced on later versions/unstable theres one of three options
- Current approach, roll things out slowly with scripting
- make the is_experimental thing on block descriptions turn the HCF components on
- Least likely: add an "unstable/deprecated block features" toggle while everything moves over to scripting
Basically just "do nothing" or "readd the toggle"

Now that HCF is gone we could be able to make emissive textures for custom blocks
in the near future
The problem with this suggestion is that it makes it so there's too many ways to do the same thing. There should really only be one good way and HCF isn't it.
Considering this game is written in C++ and has a JS scripting engine, I'm sure the devs are well aware of the problems that maintaining old features creates.
