Try changing from Box UV to Per-face UV or the other way around
how would I change this with an already existing model?
In file > project > default uv mode
still doesn't work

I loaded the model without texture and then generated a texture in the blockbench itself, then loaded the correct texture

I guess I'll see in the morning if it renders correctly in-game
You should do this and save the new model, because the one you sent me has the texture space selection completely wrong.
