#Why scripting api and not block events?

From what I understand block events like on_interact and on_player_placing etc won’t come out of experimental and instead such functionality will be made possible via scripting. Why is that? Is the scripting api better optimised than block events or is there another reason?

You can do way more in script api and do more complex tasks, then just running commands, but i am not mojangster so can't tell here, also Kayla will know better here i guess

Yea but for simple tasks it could be easier and more convenient to contain all of the block functionality in one json file, maybe don’t add any more events but just get the experimental ones out to stable
