Is it possible to query the durability of the player's main hand item?

I see that there's a query called query.remaining_durability, but so far it only ever returns 0, regardless of what the item's durability is. It also doesn't appear to take any parameters to point it at a specific inventory slot. is there a way to use this query, or is it a feature we can't use yet? Is there any other way to get an item's durability?
