Light Dampening not working?

Hi. Unless I'm mistaken, light dampening = 0 should stop this from happening? Using Stable blocks (1.20.10).

this happens when you place a block above a lectern too, I assume it's intentional rendering. If you contain your model within one block then it won't happen.
