I think they are developing the shader API to the end because only a very small part of the players can use RTX at all, but who are done with it, they will certainly continue with the RTX development
you don't need an rtx to make them looks nice looking, even non-rtx shaders is more better than bedrock rtx.
But because 2500 shader cores bring the same performance as 20 RT cores on my graphics card, I believe that RTX is the future for 3D games

My panorama here is more proof deferred rendering uses Lumen. Daylight cycle is false, same time of day, same player position. Light will be darker when you directly look at the source, but looking away will not affect light brightness.

RTX uses the heavy Lumen. Deferred uses a lighter version of lunen
so mojang just copy pasted lumen from rtx and bata bing bata boom shaders

Finally! After many restarts i got BetterRD to launch my game using dx12!
after that you dont need to use the bat file
you can just launch normal preview and it will use dx12

Are the colors of lights hardcoded? The docs never mentioned a way to change them.
There's a vanilla_lights file in renderer folder that lets you change them, however it's not currently possible to do via resource packs

Currently the only things reflected are light sources like point lights and sun/moon. Metalness and roughness affect intensity and "size" of those reflections
For mirrors to be a reality, Mojang needs to implement a form Indirect lighting for specular reflections
think SSR and cubemaps and planar reflections

I have just made a realization. Inside the renderer folder is a file called platform_configuration.json. In it is a config for each platform Minecraft is available on.
I see PS4 but not PS5, which makes sense since there isn't really a "PS5 version" of Minecraft.
Xbox is different. There are configs for both Xbox One AND Series S|X.
It would make sense to finally have a Series S|X version with these new render dragon features
Perhaps that would coincide with a Marketplace launch of graphics packs for those consoles to download
in order for xbox to have a Series S|X version logo it is gotta be optimized

I don't know. All I know is that a hell of a ton of addons out there, such as the morph bracelet addon, are going to break completely with this new removal.

Afaik, the data with the item IDs is now separate in vanilla-data module. get() and getAll() are in ItemTypes now I think.

Actually, now that I think about it, the removal of every single "Minecraft[Something]Types" is going to heavily affect script addons, as now we don't have any documentation of what entities are in the index. I guess it's more "more support", as you can use custom entities and items now.
Is there a replacement?
I don't think that's a problem since you no longer need to import Minecraft[Sonething]Types. The new stuff works the same so idk what's the issue.
