For some people it works fine btw, it's just that on my device screen buffer overflow causes infinity to be stored in the framebuffer instead of max 11 bit number, and when you render something with infinite brightness, it breaks things

The main difference is that RTX has the power for Ray Tracing while Shaders are limited for it.
It would be nice if they added stuff like being able to change the sun angle and entity pbr to rtx instead of just having it with the new shaders (even though better rtx does allow you to do those things)

I believe there's so much power behind RTX because my graphics card has 2560 CUDA cores and 20 RTX cores. When I use RTX, the regular cores are only 5% utilized, which means that 20 RTX cores can provide the same amount of performance as 2560 CUDA cores. I hope RTX-capable graphics cards become available for mobile phones too.

Entities can glow with emissive textures (and have a cool bloom effect applied to them) but they don't cast light on the environment. Although a way to add point lights to entities in the future would be great

I see what's going on. According to the files, the higher quality shadows have a larger PCF width. That's why they appear softer

Change it and see if that does what you want
Oh and another thing. It appears the maximum shadow distance is set to 128
That's why it doesn't appear beyond a certain number of chunks

Not sure what you mean by shaders. But deferred pipeline didn't add anything new that would allow to make actual shaders with code, making shaders on RD still requires modifying game files

Again, there is no shader support. Deferred pipeline is just an advanced graphics mode which has certain APIs exposed via resource packs.
When you make resource packs for deferred pipeline, you are not making shaders
Thatโs why my packโs name doesnโt have the word shader in it :D

It might take time to register in beta program. If you want to skip waiting, you can download it using manual download option from aurora store (alternative client to play market; it's not piracy since it will download the game from Google play servers using your account with purchased Minecraft)
