I'm interested in dumping people prefixing their names with such characters as ! out of view. I can realistically only do this by promoting roles below Booster. There are 2 different options:

Bumping up Event Participant also won't solve the problem since they can also prefix their name with "!"

@sinful plover, I guess there's just a matter also of if I want to highlight community contributors: our emoji artists, bot overseers, event participants, etc. They are the ones that should be hoisted, if anyone (in my opinion).

Name boosting has been a problem on discord, especially here. The only way we can prevent this is to have "the important guys" above the member list, like event participants and/or community contributors. As I see this, people will still boost their name, but they would still be way below the member list if those 2 roles I mentioned gets pushed above the member list, and have bots below these 2 roles.
This happens when it's bedtime, the stuff you mentioned alr happened

Yeah, with this setup, people with ! at the start of their root usernames or server nickname can no longer use the server at all. They can see everything they're supposed to, but they can't interact.
Not sure about this one.

If you can auto put those people in a role that puts them at the bottom of all lists, below even offline... LOL
But discord names are changing and there will be a display name and we don't know if we will have any control of that... so just experieent for now to see what flack comes up, cause the game changes. We do not even know what perms will look like for that.

Discord will likely release nickname moderation. And automod has regex so self hoisting issue can be easily sorted. Well.. if they release it lol

Also maybe for the bots thing you have a repository and just one bot, that way you dont need enourmous amounts of bots and contributing could be a lot easier. There could be a public and private repository e.g. and a rep for authorative server stuff that only admins can access.
Just a suggestion
I imagine it would be a lot easier to maintain and at the same time it also gives trust and security because you actually know what bots do. And as a widely open source community it would make the fit

You've gotta understand that we're more than open to using bots, or even our "own" consolidated bot. But no one on the staff has the time/interest/knowledge to build them.

Can confirm. I develop and maintain the bot for the Minecraft Commands server and it has been a lot of work.
It was in development for over a year before we actually rolled it out.
Even now it's still being worked on because I'm slowly moving everything to slash commands.
