I made my own version of a bot that allows you to join a BDS without needing the IP of the server. https://youtu.be/_wCqYI7VqrU

I forgot to mention, the server will pop up for everyone that has the account added. The bot also automatically adds you back. So all you have to do is give people the account's gamertag

Again, I'd like to speak to anyone who likes the idea, and would be interested in collaboration. If it's petty squabbling, I'll keep looking. I do respect copyright and would prefer working with someone who didn't just script kiddie someone else's idea. no-drama coders are the coolest coders IMHO. There is always enough credit to go around.

In my dms and my server

I am working slowly on a rust port. I am mainly just working on a Xbox services api for rust so I have a solid foundation to work from.

So the idea I'm on is distribution of add-ons. Here is the concept. Run a server that requires installation of just one add-on. Other than that, it's not a world for playing in. The owner of the world can put whatever they want in the welcome area, maybe just some thank you signs and links to where you can leave a gratuity, if so inspired. (I'll explain how the gratuity system works to whomever I collab with) but obviously, the sole purpose of the server and the in game links is to make a scalable method that allows for easy redistribution of add-ons, as MS does not allow Add-Ons in their store.

#

The income for the Add-On distribution server host will come from clients, like me, who pay a monthly fee to the reputable operator running and maintaining the add-on distribution server. It could be a contract for say a year or longer, (dunno the legal parts yet that are beneficial for both parties). As an add-on developer, I would only get income from any gratuities my add-on could generate. So would something like that interest you? I'm not going to run a server. Its not my thing. I make gadgets. I reverse engineer things. I'm not interested in running a world that would need to be reset from visiting griefers. But an experienced server operator could just run a script and reset the world after x number of visitors and maintain the experience for new visitors downloading the add-on. That's the idea. We'd need a test case, to see if people would adopt the process. I'm suspecting they will.

#

simple math... my fee paid to an add-on distribution server covers monthly energy costs and allows for operator profit. lets pick a number, say the fee to developers was $10 bucks a month per add-on. Now rinse and repeat. 10 add-ons? $100 bucks, 100 add-ons? $1000. Its micro sales at mega scale. and the server operator is the middle man. There is a business model here but I need to speak with a buddy of mine to get all the legal angles. Good luck on your rust port. I would say there are always new projects but the best ones come out of nowhere. Peace

Also I only wanted to make my own version since I’ve been trying to find a good server method since 2019.
