Why is the biome not generating?

I'm working on an addon that will change all the biomes in the overworld and that's why I'm modifying the biome files, however, when I try to modify some biomes they just don't appear in the game

I already tried to increase the chance of falling, it didn't help, can someone help me?🤔

and Mojang isn’t fixing them in 1.20, confirmation from Kayla (Mojang employee)

all "mutated" and "hiils" biomes are broken, there is no way to fix it

I tested it and the "mutated" version of savannah and birch forest are the only ones that still work

everything, I want to remake the entire overworld

there is no way to add new biomes, just replace the old ones as far as I know

they still exist in the game (for old world compatibility) but they dont generate in 1.18+

if you had a world before they were removed and had generated those biomes

🤔 Are you downloading the right BDS? The mojang provided one? If so its in
BDS/definitions/biomes

if ur having trouble, and if ur on a pc, try the vanilla files in WindowsApps
