I wasn't intending that to be a joke. I was referring to that it seems instead of fixing the underlying issue, block rendering for any geo more complex than a few cubes being broken, they just moved the elements for the piglin head around instead of addressing that rendering should not work differently in the inventory vs in world.

I wonder if armor trimmings will force attachables to have support for overlay color via render controller... it seems they could implement them without it, but then it would not have as much customization as java does with the pallet system. Or they I guess could do something inaccessible like they currently have for leather attachables, but that would be unfortunate.

Both have a lot on the table, but it's in different areas.
Well, 1.9’s combat update and 1.13’s technical update are only updates that Bedrock didn’t receive. Last year, in 1.18.30 changelog, they added huge combat parity changes, like shield cooldown, hunger parity, and much much more, but they don’t want to add everything because Mojang will update the combat again and they will release the update at the same time on both editions, and so they just added the things that they can add now and they don’t need to wait the combat update, while for other things, like attack cooldown, etc… they want to wait for the next combat update. While for the 1.13’s technical update, I’n glad that they are doing. They firstly released the new /execute command and now they are trying to give us the flattening (identifier parity). Looks like they will do this one by one on every update instead of releasing one major technical update that breaks everything like what Java’s 1.13 did. So, it’a good!
What if Mojang feels like the combat doesn't need to be overhauled.
Java hasn't gotten an experimental combat snapshot in many years and instead got a ton of QoL changes.

Combat snapshots were doing by Jeb, but Jeb told us that the gameplay team has now taken the combat update and they will do this with the whole gameplay team when they will ready, like every major updates.
And the gameplay team was busy with caves update, wild update, and now 1.20 and so it kept delaying
So we even have chance for 1.20 too since we don’t know the actual theme, but I doubt.

Beta 1.7.3 combat was better. Food didn't stack, couldn't sprint, armor degradation, and automatic bows. /s
I prefer the combat update with The End update, like 1.9 version. If you ask why, because: not all players go to The End and so it will be a good update for only overworld and nether players too.
They want to release a whole new combat mechanic instead of making the current system better.

Now Mojang added new touch controls, I want the ability to edit or make new controls with touch, mouse-n-keyboard, and gamepad.
Also, a query about “query.player.chunk.loaded” will be a cool addition, it will detect if the player’s chunk is fully loaded or not and so if we do big maps or minigames we can start the minigame when all players’ chunks are loaded for the competitive game. What do you think about this @true stump

Java recently got this:
End Crystal on Bedrock 1.19.50 vs 1.19.70 beta
- The hitbox is now 2 x 2 blocks.
- The animation position is lowered and corrected.
- The explosion now doesn't destroy terrain below it unless it is inside the blocks.
does it not destroy blocks because the origin of the ray casting is lower?
No, the explosion is negated by obsidian below it
i know, i mean did they lower the origin so most of the rays hit the obsidian and not the weaker blocks

preventing modification of certain things with resource packs will just limit resource packs
Maybe it's missing as EntityDamageCause enum doesn't have sonicBoom property
Custom blocks are far from fully functional at this point and have a lot of game breaking bugs/limitations, so I think there's a lot of work to do before data driven vanilla blocks would even be on the table, if ever.
So was I. I can definitely see modifying camera.json to make cheating easier though. I'd wager they have the same thought process for skins with custom geometry.

But being a plugin means it has some limitations, without client side modding.

You can use ScriptAPI to teleport players when they are out of bounds
Then again the ability to modify materials at all also lets you cheat. Since you can do something like ambients pack that makes entity hitboxes that are visible through everything. So basically you can have X-ray for entities

I also wish they would just use the name of the block for the texture keys instead of this weird "wool_colored_x" nonsense... those are so difficult to deal with programmatically because from what I can tell there is basically no way to systematically get what maps to what without just hard coding it.
