#Require 2FA to send links or DM’s from the server.

Problematic as most here do not have 2fa and that is basically imo gatekeeping. It will prevent new users from easily learning or getting help
how? sending links isn’t common for beginners
I don’t think there is a setting that forces you to use 2FA to send a DM
can you turn off the ability for DM from servers for individual people, cause if so that means we could make a bot that could do it
No you can disable DMs from a server
But you can block people if you want to
Bingo, the only 2FA ik of is one that is required to join this server
And I’m guessing we’re not doing that
Bc of this
U sure? The only 2FA i know of is this
I believe the joining one is actually having a phone number linked.
Mod actions on community servers require 2FA though.
Ahhh, my bad then, I get them mixed up
and to moderate a server
Only to moderate a server
Not everyone has a phone, especially kids. There have been plenty of people on my discord who I've had to bypass my security in via role change because of that. Which means more work for mods.. and don't think they want that.
Also for DMs, you can turn-on to where you have to accept a new DM requests, so no automatic messages from strangers.
^^^ Please don't do this, it seems like a good idea but because not many people have phones and many people are poor they can't afford it.
Heck, I grew up without a phone until I was 16 because we were dirt poor for many years of my life.
I see many people being in the same boat.
bad idea
edited-
2fa is useless against link hacks.
actually an alternative to help minimize it is hidden level roles
so new members can’t send links
I recommended this to sprunky awhile back and he wasn’t too keen
because its not possible
then why did you recommend it
