Once you have finished, please close your thread.
The problem with link redirect sites like linkvertise and adfly is the virus ridden ads and fake download links being served. The harm is to the user not you
linkvertise barely works now i think they make you install there app to get your download each time
you could create a mediafire and upload what you want there
then send the link out
thats usually what id do
I agree but that "fake downloads being served to the users" also affects me as the developer cuz this will prevent the users to download my addon
As a mediafire and linkvertise user there has been several updates. Basically when you post submit a link you have the option to make money off the files your sharing or use the basic setup and let the user just click downloads and it prompt them to the mediafire page. As I have made a couple bucks off LVT I don't believe its a scam. As evil said "the harm is the user" this is correct and if your trying to make money off your shared files there will be ads and pop ups while downloading the content. LVT might ask you to complete a couple steps like download there client downloader .exe for example and this is a virus so be carful.
That is true, I don't download some stuff because of that. You can post on mediafire and not have it go thru linkvertize. I guess people make money from doing that.
But if money is of no concern, consider using github, and just point people there.
If money is needed, consider having a very cheap patreon. It can be free and those that wish to support you will move to a paying tier and you can offer something like sneak peaks or requests or something for like 50 cents+ a month.
But because people still search on MCPDL, post there, just link the download another way. That is what I will do when I make an Add-on worth sharing. As a programmer and computer person I would never direct people to something that is harmful to their computers.
100% agree just use mediafire and MCPDL to post projects and files.
