Right now everything gets stacked from mods on one axis so it's 2048x18,000
When it should be 8,000x9,000 ish so there would be no error/bug and it would also allow 100x more space for mod textures.
It took me 5 years of having this bug before I connected all these dots this isnt' well know game engine stuff. The RTX Directx discord was the ones who gave me the missing connection. My post is pinned in Jira "Mojang's" ticket system for this problem even. I was first to "solve it". I do HD in Minecraft so I eat up 16k x 16k fast and have to live under this limit
That F7 info is useful in that regard.. tyvm 🙂 Will help if I run into that issue myself when I mess with mods.
Am mostly avoiding mods for now since the game is evolving pretty fast at the moment and mods will have trouble keeping up for the time being and I dislike having to abandon worlds.

Anyone know of any tools for Hytale that work like MCA select does for minecraft. I want to periodically delete targeted unused chunk data from the region.bin files. I've seen mods that reset selected chunks from in game UI; however, a top down map view to target and remove chunks is something I would prefer to work with.
Is there an easier way to edit custom furniture’s bounding boxes or is it only possible using raw numbers in the asset editor?
I'm not sure what this means? How else would one do it? You can see it's box by using the entity tool in hand and hovering over
NOTE it seems like the hitbox does NOT rotate with the entity.
I wasn’t sure if there was a more intuitive way to do it like in blockbench or something. I’ve tried using the hitbox tool but i think it glitched or something because the block is just stuck in one part of the map even after i deleted the furniture piece i was looking at.
Does the entity tool tell you the exact dimensions? I was genuinely just eyeballing the object and tweaking the numbers in the asset editor until it was close enough.
Also, i have no idea how to change the anchor point for players on beds/chairs. Is the anchor point for that fixed in one place? I didn’t see anything on any blocky models besides the origin point which didn’t alter the player’s anchor point at all.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue using Base height in worldgen V2? For some reason, all my worlds are ignoring the heights defined in my default.JSON- including my old worldgen V2 worlds. Everything happens 100 blocks lower!
This randomly happened one time sometime after update 2. I'm not sure if I caused it myself or what happened. No matter what I do I can't get it to recognize base height.
Anyone have some advice?

so I was playing on my server with my buddy and went to the desert to get sand and all of a sudden I just start crashing and nothing fixes it. we ruled out mods causing it cuz my buddy is completely fine in the same area I crash in and even back in former safe area like spawn or my house I still crash. I reinstalled and it still happens. im on bazzite linux just fyi.

did you create the port forwarding rules on your server? if you dont know how google playit dot gg (they have a tunnel you can open without needing to know how to port forward (also a tunnel is a requirement if you have starlink or any provider using a cgnat system)

i dont know But i hope that that isnt a bug and that they dont fix that in the future cause its REALLY nice for triggering weather events that it is world wide like turning on terrors weather in a PVP event in a normal world is usefull hopefully they already have a "region specific" version we dont know about or that they ADD one ontop of the world wide one

My pc crashed and when i go back into my world my house, the world map (everything i've explored), and the stuff i've collected and placed has disappeared. What do i do to restore what was lost?
The game saved backups but how do i load said backup to get my stuff back to the way it was?
What's weird is that my character's inventory, whats on the belt, in the backpack, and the armor i have on is all there and didn't get wiped like the rest of my stuff did
Loaded a world back up the world is kinda scuffed but the issue is after going to the temple then coming out of the portal the map has dissapeared and all of the markers on it.
Is this a bug or is there a fix for this issue?
You can use Lumenia JEI for that.

was blank but it only seems to happen if i load into another instance say for example the temple portal or the shard based portal worlds
tested both out and it seems both seem to remove your map and markers
i sort of found a fix you need to quit to the menu then reload the world and the map returns
just tested the shard worlds and found the same result so i'll put my money down that portal to portal travel also has the same effect.
this only started after i had to make a back up world.
Also after loading up a back up i only have a small area around me everything i explored previously has dissapeared from my map but my markers are still there.
I'm trying to explore right now but now my map isnt showing the area where i currently am it just shows the area around my base

I'm not aware of any. You could try switching to pre-release, its possible this is a bug they've already fixed.

It will even give you the option to duplicate your world when joining your world, so you can keep an old copy using release channel.

Weathers are called using the environmentID, because we don't save any weathers inside the chunk. You can use /environment ID to set the environment that has the weather you want on a selection
The command might be slightly different I dont remember, you can find it with /help 😅
But when i set the environment it doenst change the weather
The weather set command might have locked the weather for your world try to use the weather reset command I think

Anyone getting bad crashes? causes my pc to restart
happened twice so far in my half a day playing. once when entering the portal shrine area, and once randomly while exploring jsut west of the start area.
my whole pc freezes, cant alt tab or even interact with anything on my second monitor. sounds still play for about 10 seconds, including external apps. then my pc shuts down and reboots.

Likely an issue with linux. Perhaps you could try one of the workaround Steamdeck owners are using.

wow... that actually worked, but it did not recognize that i had already diabled 2FA earlier in atempt to fix login. so it wanted me to suth with an now inavlid auth key, luckily i could go the verify email route.

When editing the Hitbox for a projectile in the Asset Editor, is there a way to preview the hit box?? Or better yet, is there anyway to figure out how big the hit box needs to be based on my blockbench model?
I am also getting this issue too, I myself did some tests and when I get an error it comes back to an AMD issue so I believe its due to an AMD issue in general really hoping we can get this fixed someday
NOTE: this definitely hurts a lot of setup creators because we use a lot of plugins so being limited hurts us a lot due to this random bug

So... I got a wierd issue with a projectile, for some reason there are these weird edges around the front of my Flying Slash. I have no idea what is causing it. These edges appear the further the Projectile gets.

How do I Use ApplyEffect with a projectile? Let's say I have a Poison Bolt and I want the Poison Bolt to apply a Poison DeBuff on impact. How do I do this? You can "cheat" the system by taking a picture of your avatar and uploading it to the avatar showcase and if there just happens to be black grass in the background, well, that's not your fault. I'd be curious to see what you're talking about.
I dont know what u are talking about with avatar cheating and stuff lol... my world has black grass and people said its because the tint is not default but i dont know where to find the tint option in a world
There's an "avatar-showcase" where you can upload a picture of your avatar. You're not supposed to upload bug report screenshots to it, but as long as your avatar is in the picture then it's technically not breaking the rules.
Just google hytale black grass bug and check the reddit link in the first result thats the exact same bug :p

This is hard to do without screenshots, but when you are in edit mode it should have the texture for the item unwrapped in the left bar. When you click on a node on the model, it should show you a little box around the portion of the texture being mapped to that node. I'm guessing the little box is not in the right place?
In blockbench everything is fine it's just in games the problem ^^'

I'm guessing it got mislabled in the mod manifest. Maybe something is capitalized incorrectly? Texture.png != texture.png

yeah. The only way I can justify these is to do 1 take, no editing and just go.
They don't pay for their time and if I get in to editing it could take me hours and hours. So 99.9% of my guides are 1 take and upload. So I can keep making them. 1-3/day. I think I have 40 so far for Hytale and 200-600 for Bedrock/Blockbench/UE5
Fake them. like minecraft with a a empty plane then a few dots making it look like something is there. I can't get alpha to look good. There isn't really a blend or additive. So when you try and do these they are horrible. I'm still trying to work out simulated head lights.

it's not letting me report because they haven't sent messages in the server it's all been using this server as a way to mass spam PMs to people
like it just tells me "this user has not sent any messages recently"

discord doesn't do anything to scammers, the amount of people I've reported and not a single one ever gets banned or they just jump on one of hundreds of alts

I think you'd want to report this to Overwolf, this is the Hytale Discord. But I bet Overwolf makes money from it. So I just wouldn't use their software. A lot of people say it's bloatware.

My husband and I both purchased Hytale and his world had become laggy so he decided to make a new world. when he makes it it crashes to can't connect to server, but a world shows in his world list. If we to select that to run we still get the disconnected from server. Yet. his original world loads just fine. Has anyone else struck this?

andi just downloaded a world from curse forge and we installed it in his saves folder and that one runs.

Yo guys, my friend bought the game not so long ago, we played it a bit and forgot a bit later on, then, when we tried to play again the website and the launcher required him to log in, sadly he already forgot his password so he tried to reset it but... Nothing came in his mailbox, he was getting emails from hytale earlier, he got the recipe and everything like that but now, hes not getting any emails, he tried to contact the support but they didnt answered them for a month, thinking it was a trouble with his email somehow, I wrote to Hytale support aswell but I'm also being completely ignored for like a week now ( I sent the question how could he contact the support via other email and asked for contacts like that )
Any tips on what to do in this situation?
Have him search through old emails to find his purchase number and email Hytale support with that @blazing rampart

Anyone figured a way to make custom ResourceTypes and have their names show up correctly when called for in a crafting bench?
Not sure it’s possible yet, just curious.
For example, trying to make the ResourceType: Feathers, add a custom icon for Any_Feather, and then have it show up in a crafting bench like Any Rubble, or Any Trunk, etc.
I can get it to show up using the correct icon, and it works correctly as long as the required resources have the ResourceType set in their properties. But I can’t get it to show up with the correct name in the bench, it just shows up at server.resourcetype.feather.name Or something to that effect

Yea, tried to add it to the JSON exactly like that, unfortunately it still comes up the same. I’m pretty certain I tried to save and exit game as well, but I don’t remember. Will try again, but I think it might not work yet. The ResourceTypes don’t have an editable translation property like most things do, but it has a Name property that seemingly does nothing at this point 😅

You should have a folder called languages in your asset
In your asset you have a folder named Server and inside that folder one named languages

Question about the lang file. I make a pack in the asset editor, and the things in that pack either override the vanilla assets, or add assets to the game. Does that pack include a separate lang file that overrides vanilla when changed?

Hi there, im facing an issue in one of the city i build :
I have a super tiny render distance (2 chunks maybe), only in one of my city. I did not put a massive amount of entity or something that could break it.
I originally thought the chunks were corrupted. But i juste copied the city to another world and it causes the same problems.
It neither is related to a mod i installed, i only kept some assetpacks to avoid chunk corruption during my tests.

If I need to edit the server.lang file to make something work in my mod, do I need to bring the entire server.lang file from the base game files? Or just add resourceType.whatever.name = whatever to a new lang file in the mod folder?

For some reason the Disable Movement section in Status does not seem to work. At all. No NPCs seem to obey the the disabled movements. They walk around without issue. Does anyone know a fix?
k so. I finally figured out prefabedit save --empty saves the lava blocks I have in my prefab. Problem, I spawn it from /prefab list and theres no lava. I spawn it again the exact same way, now it has lava. what the hell

I'm trying to make a mod with sky islands, is there any way I can possibly make density terrain and have a ground level with normal terrain and make like a sky level with islands? Found a temp solution for the Freeze Status not disabling Movement. Use a super low value in the Horizontal Speed Multiplier. That will mimic stopped movement.

For Anyone Having "Duplicate Plugin" when Loading worlds issues;
Go to curse forge and open your mods folder OR go to the file path (for windows users) "C:\Users(InsertUserNameHere)\AppData\Roaming\Hytale\UserData\Mods"
Find the Duplicated/older plugin/mod of itself stacked together and delete the older version of that mod.
Don't know why its an issue that's occurring but it is, hope this helps anyone else before they have to scramble looking for the issue lol

Not sure if anyone answered you, but you can create a new lang file examplename.lang with only the changes you want. When you reference an item name from the new lang file, it'll start with examplename.<variable> in place of server.<variable>

Make sure the path in your Name: " " is correct, in your JSON, and pointing to your lang file. Also Languages folder needs cap L and your en-US needs a cap US. @stone holly

I checked in the game folder and I'm getting a fatal error text document that is showing an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error. I've tried googling but not finding anything related to Hytale and this error, does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

I had tried that already too, but I just checked my graphics drivers and I had an update that I had missed. Solved that problem and I was able to get into the Exploration world.

does anyone know why my dedicated server is failing to authenticate? i get two warnings that say, "IO error while fetching profiles: HTP connect time out" and "No game profiles found for this account". then an error saying: "Device authentication failed. Check server logs." is it down?

Right-click the clock in your Windows taskbar and select Adjust date/time.
Ensure Set time automatically is ON.

Allow Hytale Through Firewall: Windows Defender often blocks the connection required to fetch profiles.
Search for "Allow an app through Windows Firewall" in your Start menu.
Find Hytale (and the Hytale Launcher) and ensure both Private and Public boxes are checked.

So, I think I figured out what I was looking for. It’s under Assets/Server/World/default.
I believe that currently, the only things KIND of using world gen v2 are the unfinished portal worlds like the dragonspire weald or whatever it’s called. I believe the node editor is only useful for editing v2 world gen biomes.
I also believe that anything in the HytaleGenerator folder has to do with v2 world gen and nothing to do with the way our default ‘overworld’ generates currently. If you look at the file path I laid out above, you will find a bunch of ore distribution JSONs as well as alot of other world gen things. They are all in just plain JSON format, and aren’t useful with the node editor. BUT, that being said, I found what I was looking for, will mess around a bit more this week 😁

General question... does anyone know if they have posted any plans to add variants for things like chalk and shale (or was it slate?) that have no real ability to be modified in the builder's workbench or if they are just going to be 'as is' when mined up? Just curious if it's in the plans or not due to having a bunch of each and not wanting to build with them 'as is' at this time in case they add bricks, etc like they did for other block types. I know mods will eventually have them if they do not already but this is a vanilla world specifically.
anyone happen to know how to setup natural mob spawning? ive created a new world with my own biome thats all ocean. i added a few fish to WorldNpcSpawn, restarted the server but nothing seems to show up.
my entire world is a "Island_Environment" and i also set that in the asset editor. mobspawning is enabled in my servers world settings as well

I haven't heard anything specific about that being a goal, but since a majority of the game content is unfinished and many many things are simply implimented due to higher priorities, I'd assume there's no reason in the future they wouldn't expand upon block diversity considering the already extensive block pallette

Modeling feels more limited then it is in minecraft mods regarding possibilities
A simple shape like a slope (what is normally 6 vertices, 5 faces) requires now like 130 vertices, 38 faces to make it and it has overhang since there simply no way todo it without.
so performance wise it doesn't make sense? or it limitation of the way the server/client share the asset~?

And refresh tokens get replaced when you refresh so as long as the server isnt offline for >30 days you shouldn't need to reauth.
Gifting is still planned but there are lots of edge cases to account for, like refunds, abuse cases. Like what happens if you gift someone a copy and then they buy an upgrade, etc.
We want to make sure we understand how it will work rather than half ass it.
For now like suggested, you would need to offer the funds to pay for the account.

Idk if it's been handled or different but only leak I knew of was this one it was on Twitter
Inside of PluginBase there is a list called shutdownTasks, this is used by all plugins, including the core plugins like the NPCPlugin. The NPCPlugin registeres EventViews for each world but doesn't remove them when a world is unloaded. The event handlers hold references to the EventView which holds the World, preventing the world from being garbage collected when unloaded resulting in RAM growing until an OOM happens. This mainly affects servers which rely on heavy world usage like minigames or skyblock servers.
huh, weird. One of the preview images for your world is corrupt or something and causing the client to crash.
If you open up your saves folder C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Hytale\UserData\Saves and look at the preview.png in each save's folder, one of them will probably fail to load.
If you delete it, it should start working again. I'll get this bug looked into so it doesn't crash

i've been having endless problems with the auth and the profile service lately. having to reauth when the server has been offline for 1 day, connections to auth service and profile service timing out, the profile service not being able to find my profile. i wouldn't mind so much if authentication were painless, but all these problems make it a huge hassle. just yesterday i device auth'd successfully and then found my auth status was not auth'd literally 2 hours later, and the server didn't restart at all in this time. oof.

that is a generic error message that could mean pretty much anything. check the flatpak home directory, see if there are any log files in there that give more specific information.

How are you spawning them There are three different ways
Well, bears stopped spawning around. Then I switched to creative and tried to spawn them through the entity tool. Didn't work as well.

Try going to your main menu in your game, settings. In the General tab at the bottom, "Enable Alternative Network Stack", and see if that allows you to join servers.
They stopped spawning. It's the actual entity tool avaliable from the creative builder menu. I tried the command as well.

I have had temporary issues on rare occasions when the server (singleplayer) is doing something in the background or when antivirus is running and taking up processor/disk speed. I am on harddrive and not solid-state drive so access is slower. Once it 'catches up' the blocks either re-appear as if never dug.. r if I was placing blocks at the time they disappear from where they were placed and are back in my inventory. I've always called it 'block lag' when it happened in minecraft. Any chance that is what you were experiencing?
i dont think its that because i logget out of the game and came back the blocks werent there and digging was not laggy i also had mod that allowed me to purchase dirt block from the farmers work bench and they just dissapeard same also happend to the dirt that i tooks from chests it just dissapears
Currently, I don’t know if there is a way for World Gen V1. I’ve been messing around looking at how it all works recently, and so far the only way I’ve seen how to edit current world gen is to unzip the assets folder and mess around with the files under server/world. Problem is, there’s no realtime way to do this, so it’s tedious and if you have no clue what you are doing (like me 🤪), you are very likely to break things very quickly.
There are guides/documentation on how to do world gen v2. However, V2 isn’t implemented into survival/exploration mode yet, so there aren’t many biomes even if you did set it up to spawn your whole world in v2. I’d wager you can probably create different ‘dimensions’ using v2, that you access through the ancient portal with portal key shard things. I edited the Dragonspire Weald to spawn Mithril last night, so it is very possible to change those worlds

Yeah VPN gets you outside your own local network, where the problem is occurring.
I’m still learning myself. Last night was the first time I attempted to do anything involving V2 to solve my lack of mithril problem. I’ll be doing a bit of tweaking and biome creation at some point soon I think, so I’ll get back to you when/if I figure anything out. There are a TON of variables and properties that change how things spawn in V2, so I’m just diving into the documentation that’s available.
Look up Hytale World Gen V2 Full Documentation and Guide. There is also a ‘Basic World Gen’ as well, but I’m pretty sure the first one covers everything in the basic one anyways.

You have to figure out how to get into your router settings. Some ISP’s have an app for it, and some routers just require you to go to a specific IP address to enter the settings.
Look up your specific router’s manufacturer and model number which are usually on the router somewhere. And then ask Google how to port forward on your specific router

I can not get into my Hytale server if i am connected with ethernet cable(!), as soon as i connect only through wifi (Same internet connection) i get in to the server just fine... What and where can i look to get clues? (all other games/servers are fine on ethernet cable) I want to be able to play through cable again because it is faster than my wifi. (Sorry for any spelling mistakes, i`m from Norway😅 )

I try to enter the server, get to where i enter the password for the server.. then is stops there after "trying/loading" for a while, and i get an "error text" something about could not connect.. i will try it again and see what it said

When i am on wifi it connects almost instantly after entering the password. I have tried disableling my firewall/auto-protect.. but it still does the same

The worst part with servers (at least for me) is that everytime when there is an update, we usually have to wait a day or more to play on the server, becuse it takes time for them to put in the update 😅 (i know i can play on an "earlier edition" but it takes time to change, and some of those i play with aren`t very "technical" so i have to explain every time) ❤️

In my server it says that daytimeDurationSeconds are 1728, and nighttimeDurationSeconds are 1151. We dont need to change the nighttime, but what should i set daytime to if i want it to last.. lets say 10min longer? Is those seconds "realtime seconds"?
so add 600 seconds ? could be refering to ticks as well which are variable
if they are realtime seconds 1728 would be like 28.8 min.. i i dont think one day lasts almost half an hour.. at least it does not feel like that.. so i guess it might be ticks..

i am not sure, but if it is because of a new update, you CAN try to make a new world, and try to start that so everything loads in.. then try start your normal world. I have done that a few times, kind of tricks it to load in new stuff.

I'm tryna make a weapon transform into a different model via using "RefillContainer" since it allows changing an item's state. The problem lies within the "AllowedFluids" tab within "States". Is there any way of making it so it accepts items rather than fluids? If there's alternate ways of making this work that would be great to know.

well, now there is another thing idk how to do, there are files, and idk what to do with them, there's one backup, idk what to do with that.
To restore one, open that folder, pick the right .zip, extract it, then copy the extracted files back into the main world folder and overwrite existing files.

Does anyone know how to allow mods to work in the newest pre-release? The Skip Mod Validation button is gone, is there a way to allow our worlds to ignore those broken mods? They worked fine in the last update
Pre release can fundamentally break mods validation is only for mods that would normally still work if there wasn't a version difference
The validation is just for having a check if the mod is meant for that version or not
They changed the flag name to more accurately reflect what it does its something like "--allow-broken-mods" now or something like that

Hello guys i need some help, me and my friend did set up a world before one update destroyed the functionality. We played together before but after one Update it didn't work anymore. Our UPnP was opend and we have both activated. We tried to change host, that he play on my world, but it failes everytime.
We tried todo
- Deinstall and reinstall (both)
- Restart PC
- Sync Clock idk why?
- Checked our UPnP if something is wrong
But we don't know what's the issue, now after the Update it says when we make a code to share that it's open for LAN but before the update it din't say that i think, sooo idk can i maybe change the Update to before?
If you want to share your world to a friend you have to select "online play" If it doesn't work you can click a web address above the two buttons on that screen and find a help page that tells you how it works

Also, make sure you have your antivirus and/or windows firewall not blocking Hytale in any way
Can you try go into your settings and at the very bottom of the general settings enable the "Alternative Network Stack" and see if that helps

Does anyone else have a problem where prefabs aren't spawning with the prefab spawner block? I set the file path in the prefab before I saved it, and it's not placing in my worldGen V2. The additional prefabs are also not saving when copy/pasting.
All I see in my structure is the "spawn prefab" block with no data inside of it.

Spawn / spawn beacon files. You can see examples of these just by searching spawn in the asset editor. I recommend spawn beacons though, you have a lot more control over the spawns
I had added some mods awhile ago, but now I can't seem to update them properly. I have deleted all mods from the world folder and yet, the old mods are still in the mod selector in the world settings. and because of that, I cannot properly update the mods. any help here would be much appreciated.

ok so i'm on a arch system running X11 and installed the game on yay, this all runs smootly ,but now looking towards running the game trough curseforge (witch my minecraft already uses) to run this game with mods. any help here cause now i get only a black screen when i press play. already checked and changed the java version java -version openjdk version "17.0.18" 2026-01-20 OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 17.0.18+8) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.0.18+8, mixed mode, sharing)

Does anyone know if there is some magic secret to getting textures to appear on blockbench models? I have been bouncing my head off a wall this morning for a few hours trying to get a model to work. I put together a wrench with some crappy textures to try and get something to work, and half the model is not rendering. I stacked all the UV's up nice and neat, applied textures in gimp, and it's just not working. I've retextured a few times, open closed editor a few times, not sure what i'm missing here

so if you start the game like this, it starts it from the curseforge version and there in the curseforge you can install the mods

Hey, Im trying to connect to my home server but getting a version mismatch. My client is on release 2026.03.09 but the server downloader only downloads 2026.02.19. Is the server update for 2026.03.09 not out yet, and is there a way to downgrade my client to 2026.02.19 in the meantime?

You need to do that, the server won't accept players until you do.
Then after you authorize it, you need to run /auth persistence Encrypted so it saves the authorization and reauthenticates automatically

I had an issue when first started playing, I couldnt use my onboard ethernet. WiFi worked fine. Some issue with Hytale, the Quic Protocol and non Intel Ethernet chips
Had to buy an Intel based Ethernet card.
This is the one I bought Intel I225-T1 2.5GbE
About $50 on eBay. Should be able to fine some cheaper 1GbE ones for $20-$40

Hopefully Hytale gonna be able to fix such issues, so much debugging from my vps side and client side, ports, logs....... normal users wont be able to do such things and mostly would just ask for a refund xD but was fun i guess as im a dev 🤣 anyway thanks all for the help appreciate it a lot finally we can enjoy the game 
got a very dumb issue that i'm not even sure where to start in figuring it out. Was playing a single player save with mods, spawned in a motorcycle from who knows what mod, game crashed. Somehow in doing so it broke my custom blocks mod that i made. Flat out refuses to load with it enabled anymore. Crashes and tells me to 'contact mod author' (i made this mod using the asset editor)
Can't find any logs that tell me anything beyond 'failed to load'
At a loss here. can't load the world without my mod as most of what i built is made out of my blocks

fixed the server! turns out i used an wrong ip.... oops
just had to fix the server not listining to the port, and using the correct ip.
Hey all, not sure if this is the right channel for it, but has anyone used Sunshine streaming to run the game? I'm not sure what values to put into sunshine to make it work
Can you not just follow a [universal] guide? What values do you speak of?
the problem is most of the guides are for things like steam games that have an .exe for the game that you can just use with sunshine, but when i try to get the .exe from the hytale client folder, it just crashes straight away saying that it needs authentication, and needs to be launched from the launcher instead of directly, though if i try the launcher exe it also fails to run

I actually have an idea...what if you launch the hytale launcher and leave it open (on the source pc). Does it work then if you launch through sunshine? (since you'd already be logged in on the launcher)
also another thought, what if you just launch the launcher directly instead of trying to launch the game file
unfortunately not for both of these - it just throws an error when trying to start it with moonlight
I bet someone on the moonlight discord knows how to do it, I would ask there

I bought the game yesterday and haven't been able to install the patch because it keeps resetting.
I know it may be in the process of being made, but it really shouldn't end the download entirely and restart it from the begining when the internet disconnects for a couple secconds.
I tried downloading it over night and got this error in the morning

Ah, after some digging it's because the security tokens only last 30 minutes. And it takes longer than 30 minutes to install the game
Anywhere from 4 kb/s to 500kb/s. I'd need abou 850/kbs minimum consistently to install it
is that a result of your internet provider? or is it just bad download speeds from the hytale servers? (what do you get on a speed test?)
It's actually a result of my distance from the modem I believe. I haven't gotten a booster to my room yet.

try maybe running hytale as administrator, it helped with a different game where download speed was weirdly slow otherwise

Haven't tested it but so far I know you can only have 1 game open on a singler device, I think you should be able to play on your laptop at the same time as you play on your pc

Been thinking about this a lot lately because of all the issues people have been having connecting and such.
I have been running the same server since day one on my small workstation that I have specifically for the purpose of running servers. I’ve had maybe one or two blips in the beginning, but they were easily addressed and they were caused by windows updating without me telling it to. I am really curious.
How many people are having issues with their servers? What kinds of issues are you having?
Are you running a dedicated on the same PC as you are playing?
Are you using a server hosting company? If so, which one and what’s the cost? Any issues?
What are the specs of your server PC or the PC hosting your dedicated?
What process do you use to update your server?
How many people play on your server at a time?
I think my overall goal with these questions is to figure out where we as a community are messing things up when it comes to servers, whether they be self hosted or hosted by a third party. I feel that if we can figure some of these issues out, it will help save people the initial pain of getting their server running and being able to easily host for their friends.
Two things I noticed that were new and weird were having to authenticate and mess with port forwarding. People are barely able to remember passwords half the time, any new cognitive overhead is a football to the groin.

Reinstall the Game: Use the Hytale launcher to uninstall and then reinstall the game. This can fix corrupted Java files or resources.
Disable Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus, as they might block the local server from running.
i am able to play on servers however

Dumb question, About how long does it take players to get 5 Great life essences, im looking for Mid-tier experienced answers mostly but very well experianced players input is helpful as well (even wht they would think it would take a mid-tier player to get that accumulated and feel comfortable spending it.

Would need to know exactly what it says under NAT type when your friend tries to open their server up to online play.
im usually the one attempting to host, mine says carrier grade NAT

that means your firewall is managed by your ISP (in the modem)
Best to just set up a remote server then, you can do something like (free) Aternos and you both can just connect there instead.
Maybe in the future they'll offer tunneling system for users in this situation (you would connect to hytale servers through a "tunnel" and players would connect to their servers and their data would be routed back to you)
It would be quite an expensive endeavor for them though as it would require significant infrastructure/servers on their side.

The port forwarding is with any game. I haven’t hosted a server for a game that I DIDN’T have to port forward before people could join. Once you port forward once, it’s pretty simple. The toughest part is figuring out where you need to do it.
The Authentication every time we startup the server though is new to me. I’m guessing it’s a security measure, but 🤷♂️.
The part that usually stumps me is updating the server. I made sure to sticky note the procedure so it’s seamless every time now.

I'm trying to get the paint brush tool to work in Creative mode but it keeps using air. Anyone able to provide insight on if this is user error or a bug to report? I have the material I want in the Material slot, all the other settings work, but the brush keeps placing air instead of the material I'm trying to use.

Huh weird. Apparently trying to run Hytale on Linux Mint Cinnamon desktop just crashes but if I run it on Wayland experimental it runs but at single digit FPS. Anyone else been able to figure out how to run on X11 without issues?
Can someone actually help me play Hytale, I don't have a problem running any games besides Hytale. My game crashes almost 98% when swinging my arm/hand to destroy/attack something. I have tried everything youtube videos have told me

ApplyForce. For the sword, its the Weapon_Sword_Primary_Thrust_Force.json file, which is used in Weapon_Sword_Primary_Thrust.json. It also has a replace var called Thrust_Force
