I can't find a decent enough server. I always run into the main continent being claimed by all these claims by inactive players and have to slowly cross the ocean to the infinite lands to be able to break blocks.

kinda yeah is return-warp griefing realy such a big problem? how i would go about it is give players a /spawn command then people can griefe if they want to but the person getting griefed can just do /spawn and he is out

you can just make a 10 second delay once you got hit you cant go there for 10 seconds or longer
but right now you can basically do the same thing just log out and you are save same problem but harder to fix

Some MC Servers treat combat logging by having the player's avitar remain in the world and able to be killed for 5 minutes after combat logging. So basically if you logged during combat it was guarenteed you'd log back in at spawn with all your items dropped.

The two devs they hired aren't working on automation now. They are working on the foundation of the game.

The Create developers are working on Hytale, but the Create mod for Minecraft is not being abandoned or handed off, though updates may take longer.
The team is focusing on core systems in Hytale first before specifically looking at "animated mechanical systems"

I see, oh well, really waiting on that automation of some sort, but early access is early access. Games feel nice and beautiful, but it feels quite unplayable to build big things by picking stuff by hand , guess imma wait little longer

That isn't a bad thing. I'm not saying that was your take, but I want to provide a perspective.

Those developers have experience and battle scars getting Minecraft to do things to make the Create mod to work in MC. They know the deficiencies MC has and they know where the performance gotchas are. Putting them on the foundation of the game means that game features and mods will benefit by having something that works inherently or plugs-in efficiently and doesn't have to be shoe-horned later with ugly compromises.

That's not my take - that is what was said. That is why they were hired to build a strong game foundation. The game isn't ready for automation when the basic mechanics are borked - like trees, water, mobs. Yes, the game will benefit from their expertise that is why they were hired.

I am very familiar with the Create mod. All in good time. You need to walk before you can run. I had heard they were being pursued back in January and they just got hired.❤️

Sooooo has anyone had the game compeletly erase your zone 1 when you try to go back from zone 2? I spent my last 2 episodes recording in Zone 2. I decided to go unload my loot and make better gear. As I got out of Zone 2 I did not recognize anything. The entire map and surrounding areas for my Zone 1 were totaly changed. I have lost my house I spent a while making and all of my stuff not in my inventory 😥

I tried playing my other world, my first one yesterday. I forgot that fall damage was a thing. Anyway, I was digging down in an ancient city, to find a sewer. I didn't find a sewer but the ceiling to a dino cave. Fell to my death. LOL

I went to Zone 2 after the last big update and I have no idea why wiped my zone 1. I know it's early access but this is something that is very discouraging for me personally to continue making content until it is more stable

So I went back to my second world - the one I play on all the time. Went to those borked apple trees at base #2 and same - one harvestable apple way up high. I wonder if the apple trees are supposed to grow so high that you need a ladder to pick the single apple. Somehow I don't think so.

Can you go back and play from an earlier save? You were in the desert and went back to base camp in zone 1 if I am understanding you right?

I have spent many irl days playing in zone 2. So if I try to reload a save from that far back I will be losing a lot of content that I have already done

you won't be able to progress if you don't have a base. You could set up a base in the temple that surround the forgotten temple gateway maybe - that might be more stable. I just haven't had that happen

Mate IMO as an acoustic person the timers genuinley suck, like REALLY suck. Especially on how short it is it feels like you cant even breathe before you decide to say, explore a feran village or loot the wizard tower.

So one would struggle to even fully finish the wizard tower and you literally have to speedrun the heck out of it. Its fun but also makes me unable to look around the actual damn building and just focus on looting.

And heck, even one of my other acoustic friend said to me when i asked him about the timers: "me no like timer" (he dosent speak like that he was just being funny)

Lighting is supposed to affect void mobs IIRC, but not most others. Prefab mobs can be stopped from spawning by blocking the spawner entity or otherwise making the spawn location invalid, and the spawn markers will stay deleted afterwards.

I once tries to base in a broken house thing where skeletons spawned. If I had placed blocks over the ground would that have prevented them respawning...I eventually moved so good to know ways to move into a premade building and stop spawns

The first youtube video I watched recommended digging 4-block-deep holes under spawn locations. I've seen occasional success myself placing blocks on top of where I thought the spawn markers were.

I wondered because I brought a prefab build into the world ( a house and there had been some wolves there but they never came back after placing it so I wondered if putting it there had covered their spawn point

Day reset is common for prefab spawns, yeah. There was a youtube video about a guy making a railway linking up like 12 Fire Golem spawns for farming iron ingots.

I farm the golems at the portals. Just place one iron trap right where it spawns and when you enter the room, it's already dead. It's slow, but passive bonus 🙂 I have also thought about the large mini-bosses in the lava areas, though it's only iron bars and fire essence they drop.

Spikes are better for persistent traps, but bear traps keep mobs in place for a bit. But you have to reset them.

Depending on which tower, yeah, I've seen that too.

Mods with more combat-oriented battle arenas can help, though. I had to grow quite a bit better with Major Dungeons, myself.

And not ALL of my deaths were due to the alchemists, whose damage you can't resist with armor.

i have had maybe one or two bamboo trees actually reach maturity out of the hundreds of saplings i have planted.

they get stuck in a growth stage that unfortunately can’t be harvested, it just drops sticks :/

i tried submitting a bug report about trees not growing but it just says “server error. please try again later” but it also displays a message at the top saying abuse of this feature may lead to account suspension. due to the server error in combination with that warning, i am afraid to actually try again for fear it may submit duplicates of the bug report and lead to account suspension.

I submitted a bug report about trees yesterday. That warning is at the top for most everybody I think. Bamboo will not grow fully. The only place you can get full grown bamboo is in the dinosaur caves zone 4 that I know of.

Just like a house build - you have to start with a strong foundation. There are broken things and gaps right now. That is part of what the Create team is working on. The game has to be built to appeal to all players - adventure, builder, etc. That is what they're all working on. The big splashy stuff will come later. Minecraft wasn't built overnight to get where it is at.

I play on pre-release. It's a good way to play to see what's broken. Trees are a big issue, the sickle that can't be put in the scrapper (that's fixed), the healing totem (that's fixed). The fixed items work now in the pre-release.

I belong to a hytale FB group. They have a moded server that I could play on if i wanted to. I chose not to - the resources would get used and everything explored/plundered. I am just happy doing my own thing. I stared a new world yesterday so now I have 3 that I can bounce around when I get bored. They're all at different stages.

the other problem with modded servers is when mods break you end up with those pink and black blocks until mod fixed. that would annoy me intensely so playing solo I just start a new world without those mods. Other people don't want to start over

I think ongoing modded servers need to only include stuff that is likely to be updated and be prepared to start over.

That's exactly why I play vanilla. I could foresee those issues and didn't want the frustration. My game got corrupted once about a month ago and I panicked - all that progress. Luckily I was able to fix it on my own - even vanilla can get borked.

In my new game - I think I am going to build a full-on monster medieval castle. My little hut doesn't even have a roof yet. I thought about those flying octopus things - the void eyes. Time for a roof! I can't seem to find much iron. I'm running around in copper armor. I think because I chose Zone 3 to start in. I think its Zone 3 - the cedar and redwood woods - maybe that still considered Zone 2.

Next up for Hytale: friend lists and server discovery!

Friend lists are coming to pre-release this week: you'll be able to see when your friends are online, jump into their world, invite them, or join the server they're playing on.

A few days later, we'll open applications for servers to be listed in a new in-game server browser. It's been about 3 months, and some great community servers have already come together nicely! FYI, we've been working on the server's performance and will keep at it, but now feels like the right time to start letting players find these servers in-game! A blog post is coming that will lay out how server discovery will work going forward.

Note that update 5 isn't a big gameplay content drop, but there's a lot happening under the hood. We're deep in engine work, performance, overhauling crafting and progression, and part of the team is also working on our first major content update, Chapter 1. And there's a lot of cool stuff we're working on beyond these updates. We'll share more in the coming weeks!

As a sidenote, the team is growing, and we will be hiring a lot in the coming months! We have a lot of work to do for years to come. BTW, the next wave of hires is going to heavily focus on adventure content: World Gen / NPC / Dungeons, and so on. Lots to do before the game leaves early access!

Its very hard to keep anything above 50 players because server software is bad and buggy + if you can only have that many its gonna be hard for servers to be sustainable

so if you arent making money and only losing money, you shut down

The other staves don't consume essences, but they're even weaker, doing 5 damage with a magical ranged "charge" attack, and equally pitiful damage with melee hits.

I'm using Major Dungeons, which adds a few of the currently creative-only items to the loot list, alongside Mithril and Stormleather.

Right now there isn't a whole lot of difference between the armors in my opinion other than durability. Thorium helps with poison but not that much.

I did miss that poison protection when I switched to adamantite, where the better damage resistances matter to me.

The light damage is also nice, as it's a common type of damage.

40% damage reduction for full adamantite is definitely relevant, though.

I am sure it will all get reworked. It seems like so many things were place holders - or just put in for functionality.

I guess I'd like mending and other enchantments.

I really like to see something like Ars Nouveau made for this game. I am sure someone out there is working on it. A full blown magic mod as well as something like Twighlight Forest to expand the Azure forest.

they have a book and there are a few you tube vids on it by maker and another you tuber who showcased it

the book itemises what s in it but I always need to be shown how to put stuff together to use

as things don't always work the same as the mods they are putting into hytale, not just ported in, the y do features similar to the mods we know

mod tutorials for dummies.... thats what I need where i am shown what to do, how things work so I can do other things as well.

it will be interesting to see what gets added to the basic game as some mods may end up having something similar, if not that mod in game eventually

people probably tested this before but I want to find out for myself

player collision at the distance of the Minecraft farlands is broken and the rendering is somewhat broken but the generation seems fine

rendering broke down where the 64-bit farlands should of generated so I have no clue if terrain is affected

Supposedly this one fixed the borked apple trees and other trees. I have yet to test. Also they said they fixed the memories for the skarak mobs

Re-link your Discord account from the Hytale accounts page. Make sure a second login method is set up first.

Audio Occlusion has been implemented!
This feature uses raycasting between sound sources and the listener, muffling audio depending on what materials divide the two.

Fixed a crash that could occur when damage sources have no associated hotbar.
Fixed a crash that could occur under specific circumstances with NPC movement.

Entities that breathe air will no longer spawn submerged in liquid.
