I was thinking of trying alecs animal husbandry as it looks like its been updated but not sure if its complicated. has anyone else tried that mod?

a bit reluctant to have anything too complicated in farming at this stage but would love a mob farm of nasties all being killed with minimal danger to me lol

thats what I thought really, In many ways I am happy to wait for some killing automation in the future and mostly just farming crops

however i have fond memories of mob farms in mc and watching creepers fall to their deaths... especially after they blow up my house sneaking up on me

currently I am sick of being poisoned by spiders and those bee things in the desert.

had been trying to think of ways to use spikes... but they won't work on the bee things as they fly!!

so wondered if anyone had started designs for mob farms at his stage or thoughts of how it can be achieved at this stage

atm I am still in iron on a new world

working on getting the thorium and trying to avoid the bee/wasp things

For thorium, just setup 4 skeleton farms

use the teleport mod, to allow unlimited teleports

set up trap, us TP to go there, watch as they spawn and die, collect and rince repeat once a day

I don't agree! Yeah - chickens give feathers, eggs & poop and can be used for dough. Cows give milk & poop. The milk to to make cheese that is an ingredient in the Caesar Salad (Instantly restores 15% health with Health Regen III and Stamina Boost III for 6 min,), Sheep give wool scraps & poop when sheared to make other items.

For Thorium you kinda wanna be underground.

Or focus on making (Thorium) armor first, you get like 75% poison damage reduction from a full set. It helps a lot against the wasps.

Milk is not used to make dough, milk is used to make cheese that gives 15% instant healt,
However you can just make popcore that gives the same and that is easier to fram then using buckets to milk however many cows you have.,

That's why I use the crossbow - shoots fast and I don't have to get so close. I go through a ton of arrows - hence the whinning about needing sticks all the time.

yeah i got a shock to put sand in and out popped a bottle. I tried putting cobble there but of course you use builders table to make other stone stuff

yeah i have just added a sprinkler mod for my crops and once I get that set up better I will be doing the sapling farms. Nice to have new saplings too

it takes a while getting organised with everything once you get higher armour its easier

I've seen too many use mods and then when an update comes around they are hosed. But I know in future development there will be a mod checker of sorts built into the game that will let you know if it is still playable with the mod

yeah this world i just have updated mods and is some ways its good as many i used were made in Jan and I never looked for newer ones, so its been good to get later ones

some people had trouble updating with the block changes

i tend to like furniture mods and quality of life mods, stuff i see as likely to be added in game, stuff that helps since we can't automate yet

i never used to build big automated farms in mc, just little ones to make it a bit easier. I never needsed farms that produced a 1000 items a minute

and I hoping eventually 8 teleporters enough but tbh as more areas added 8 will be limiting

I installed a mod for that a while ago. But it only changes it when you already have 200 memories, so it's not irrelevant early game, at least.

This is too funny - I captured some boars a while back with the teleporter. All that came through was a baby. I thought the adults went poof. Apparently they went to another location I hadn't teleported to in a long time. I just brought them home.

Yeah, I have a dedicated "Livestock Pen" teleporter for that. Also have sendt them to "Home" more often than I intended.

yeah they handy for moving animals...when they decide to use it... after an hour of waitingand slowly fencing them into the teleporter

You can use their desired food to lure them towards you. Then just stand on the other end of the teleporter.
Or a feed bag.

That's how I do it - I just got those two over with pumpkins, their food. You just stand on the backside of the teleporter and they walk right through.

Yes - and you could still lure them with food and walk all the way back to your base slowly.

You could also shear untamed sheep by walking up to them and milk wild, untamed cows.

i remember searching for a scrill chick 24/7 just for it not to exist i don't remember what it was the reason but it just didnt spawn, had to check game files

im suprised they haven't fixed the memory stuff when i reported it like months ago, i guess this isnt their biggest priority rn

I am thinking they'll add more memories or revamp the whole thing. There's lots to do. Putting in those reports is a good idea. I've done several myself. When blocks don't connect, stuff can't be scrapped - like the sickle.

There is an alternate option, in scouring the desert for chests with Palm logs. Mineshafts give decent odds.
But it's still not great.

It does now. I haven't been in this temple since January - stuff is still floating that I didn't pick up. If I find the Sand Crystal Golem I am going to be pissed. I don't think it was in the game though from the start.

I don't think there is a golem in this temple. Where he should be is just a dead end I guess. Was that golem in from the start - the one that gives Zephyrs?

I wish we could make more of the doors. Medium Light Temple doors, for instance, are uncraftable, and you need to loot those dark shrines to get them. And I would like a few more of those for my home base.

I found my original tunnel to go up & out. I always carry a stack of dirt where ever I go too.

With the news of upcoming Cubic chunks, they could add flying machines, and have huge floating islands thousands of blocks in the sky.

Look up the "Floatater" from the Minecraft aprils fool snapshot

there's a bunch of videos on youtube, but in essence, it is a block that can make an entire platform move.

So forexample build a ship, add and power the floatater, and the ship will move until it hits another block.

It's more about not duplicating than reuse. Most cases, same thing, but you shouldn't put the round peg in the square hole just because it fits. From the perspective of an enterprise developer, not game developer, so there could be nuance.

Yeah, I build server code myself. API requests, databases, security and sanity checks, devops tooling, that sort of thing.

Either way, I'm pretty happy to have correctly predicted that repair packs would work on fertilizer bags, though I didn't expect them to increase max durability. I'm guessing there's a lower limit of 10 when you repair weapons and tools.

But as far as I'm concerned, not duplicating == reuse. My suspicion is that they have a durability component in their ECS, then someone used it for fertilizer, and someone else made the repair packs. All completely logical actions leading to an illogical (but hilarious) result.

Actually, best case, when you dash down like that your fall damage should be added to your attack.

If you time it really well, then you can get some airtime from mace skeletons - you want them to hit you right after you hit them with a dagger dash, and the extra knockback will speed you up a lot in a straight vector. Your hit would also need to be downwards, so your backwards angle goes upwards.

Honestly, it's a bit hard here to diagnose. What I would do is load back into the singleplayer world. Save the spawn as a prefab, create a new void world on your server and then paste it in. Update the world config.json with the spawn point and then try again

• 128 GB DDR5 ECC (Upgraded to 192 GB DDR5)
• 2x 1.92 TB NVMe SSD Datacenter Edition (Gen4)
  and i pay around $150 each month for it (+400 for the Setup at the beginning) that means i lost already $600).

My problem: I have to decide within the next two days whether I want to keep it or not.

Should I even continue? If you browse through the websites listing the most-played Hytale servers, the combined player count across all of them doesn't even reach 300. To me, the game looks dead and Simon refuses (yes, he refuses there are hundreds of people on Twitter who have asked for the numbers) to say whether the game is still active, or to what extent. No Numbers :/

Should I simply keep going? Or should I hand my server over to someone else so that the next person can save on the initial server setup costs at Hetzner, while also securing the old $150 pricing rate?

This was absolutely necessary to determine how many players my server can handle (360 bots, simulating each has an island of 320x320 Blocks and is simultaneously teleported to various different points every second) + other tests by arround 380-400 the TPS drops

I actually planned to advertise on Billyboard as soon as I finished my server. I thought, "Hytale is going to be huge" but it's extremely inactive at least on the server side I don't know how active single-player is.

Hytale hasn't had any marketting push yet besides the initial hype. For simon to do a full marketting campaign now would be dreadful with the current state of the game. No minigames released, no server browser, no story, lots of engine work to do. Players would leave instantly and not trust the next round of marketting.

However, canceling the server now would be disastrous, as renting that same server currently costs 150 per month. Furthermore, the original AX102 servers no longer exist only the AX102-U models remain and those come with only 128 GB of RAM, rather than the 192 GB I currently have, for the exact same price I am paying now for my AX102 (Stupid AI companies have completely ruined the pricing market).

To put it briefly:
I have four options open to me:

1.) Continue paying and wait until the full release is live.

2.) Pay for one more month and hand the server over to someone who currently runs a community; I would transfer ownership of the server to that person, but to keep it, they would have to update all the account details and start paying for it themselves in 32 days.

3.) Cancel the server and wait until the release, but then due to unforeseen price fluctuations potentially end up paying double the current monthly rate.

4.) 4.) Hand over the server to someone who unlike me isn't 90% reliant on AI and actually knows what they're doing. As for the player base, I plan to advertise on Billyboard (Jep that is a thing) and drop a few "small" donations during livestreams by larger content creators to get a shout-out: I don't foresee any issues with player numbers once the game is fully released but now? I just don't know what to do.

In short, I have four options:

Keep paying and wait for the full release.
Pay one more month, then transfer the server to someone else who takes over payments.

Cancel now and risk paying much more later due to price increases.

Hand the server to someone more experienced to manage it.

yea. i played the game when there was nothing but a few things and had fun with it. i only started using mods after it corrupted from the ocean update and i started a new world. EthosLabs has the same vanilla world since 2011 and built all sorts of c razy stuff in it. mods help, but they dont make or break the game for most folks.

My eyes get tired very quickly from playing Hytale, they hurt. I don't know what the reason is, maybe the graphics are so contrasting, but Valheim definitely didn't have this, or any other game. Maybe someone has encountered this and adjusted the graphics to be more gentle somehow?

If you use nvidia maybe you can try adjusting the saturation on Nvidia settings

I also read at some point that having a bigger crosshair in 3d games helps with motion sickness so you can look into that as well

water is pretty simple tbh, dig the area you want filled and do any texturing you want beforehand -> make a platform 1 block down from where you want the surface -> fill inventory with buckets and place a portal at water and where you're filling -> fill every block ontop of the platform with water (just start in a corner and go side to side) -> break platform when its all filled

Hopefully it’s not like a stronger staff, but each book would have a unique attack.
Some ideas i had from minecraft i want to see in hytale:
one book summons those vindicators attacks
Fire book summons a ghast fireball that hovers until hit, and moves forward indefinitely until it hits something
A necromancy book that summons skeletons/ a summoning book that summons monsters as minions
Just to name a few

If i ever learn how to mod. I’d probably go the easy route and make my books similar to what terraria has but more creative liberty. Would probably make magic staffs or wands do mostly projectiles with different spreads and patterns when shot

do it! hytale is incredibly easy to mod once you get the hang of it, although you'll need to create a plugin for stuff like projectile patterns, atm we only have just straight projectiles with some basic physics
