When Hytale drops there's gonna be a bunch of injection methods people will try. The classic is DLL injection where you load a custom DLL into the game process to hook functions and mess with memory, that's your standard aimbot and ESP stuff. Manual mapping is basically the same thing but stealthier since it doesn't use the normal Windows loader so anti-cheat has a harder time seeing what's loaded.
Function hooking is another big one where you intercept calls the game makes like rendering or input handling and reroute them through your own code. Hook into the render pipeline and suddenly you can draw boxes around every player. Memory editing doesn't even need injection really, it's just an external program reading and writing to the game's memory if you can find the right addresses.
Shader injection is sneaky too, you modify or swap out shaders to make walls transparent or enemies glow through stuff. Sometimes people do this through graphics driver exploits. Overlay rendering is probably the hardest to detect since you're literally just drawing a transparent window on top of the game and not touching the process at all.

combat hacks can be rendered obselete by the type of combat the game has, like imagine if swinging a sword created a hitbox server side instead of actual aiming, kinda like elden ring sworda etc, and for esp and xray, you can choose not to send entities or blocks if they dont have a visual to it
u can create a server on day 1 but it wont be anything special
its just never, even the most intelligent developers, that build full dev-ops kubernetes infrastructure can easily add a problem in the client/server communication causing issues, its just not as simple as A - B - C because there are so many ways of hacking
im guessing its going to be littered with bugs when it launches but i guess we have to contribute 🤷♂️

Like if a kernel ac will stop anyone playing with any data the client knows. If you are concerned, log player data, analyse legit players and flag ones outside range. You won't stop anyone going through the AC path, wrong path.

1000 concurrent with a host (rather than self hosting) im not sure about. i was part of a smallish server network (with a decent amount of servers) that self hosted for around 30ish players daily, and the server racks themselves costed around $300/m from what i remember. thats not even paying for the hardware, other than the parts to repair it
modern minecraft requires a lot more processing power even for small servers, so hytale would definitely be cheaper to run a server for

to be fair hypixel was popping off 100k+ consec and even before their explosion, cube, mineplex and the likes all were hitting 30-60k back back back in the day

i think this is gonna be one of those cases where we're gonna have to do some good ol trial and error as servers develop and the game develops
That seems expensive to me, but yet I've never tried to run a server larger than 10 friends consecutively
it would probably be quite a bit less for a hytale server of the same size just because of optimizations made to the game (minecraft isn't even multi-threaded), but still, server racks are usually in the hundreds per month (if you're self hosting). unless you were to have the servers in your house. still have to pay for any replacement parts and electricity bill would go up from having a server running 24/7
if you're not self hosting you have to pay monthly to rent their hardware aswell
Yeah my bill definitely goes up when I run the server, by like maybe 20 dollars so that's why I thought it was a bit expensive. I definitely hope it's cheaper than 300 dollars a month.
it would be pretty cheap if you're hosting for a few friends. it's just when you want to have a decent sized network (a bunch of virtual (sometimes physical) servers connected) that it becomes expensive

"Mods" is the umbrella term for two types of game modifications:
- Plugins (Java .jar files)
- Asset Packs, or just Packs for short (textures, models, sounds, behavior definitions in .json files, etc)
Mods may consist only of a Plugin (mechanic changes, commands, QoL, etc.), only of a Pack (new blocks, mobs, cosmetics, etc.), or both!

RAM usage massively depends on what you are doing with your server. If you have a lot of people loading chunks in separate areas, RAM usage will be much higher than if everyone is together in one area on a fixed map (e.g. for minigames)

How would this solve the architecture problem? Does it provide the server jar and assets for you from a 3rd party service or do they supply Box64 or some other translation tool in their containers for downloading via the existing CLI? This does make me curious if Box64 could possibly work

The best workaround for now is to just run the script on a compatible machine and move the credentials (+ the server files) to your host machine
I have no experience with arm so I couldnt tell you, but go does natively support arm

Without checking myself I wonder if we can just copy the authentication file generated from the CLI on x86 and then just sniff what URL they're hitting for the download utility. I haven't checked but I imagine it's just a JWT. Could possibly write our own little CLI in the time between (hopeful) official support

No, RAM usage is based on what is currently being loaded, not how much world generation it has to do.
so pre-generation will not noticably reduce your ram usage

yeah nitrado's performace plugins will be installed automatically on all of their servers. I believe customers can then choose to uninstall them if they want, but that already goes a long way

Im running an ubuntu server pc that's headless, and i run pretty much everything out of docker (mc servers, pz servers, plex...) and it would be super convenient to run it out of there too. I'm using tail scale and some other plugins that are already configured for docker

Only blockbench. For plugin development, there are a couple high-level overviews on curseforge, but we have to wait for the game to release before we actually get started

Hytale is marked as supported in Cubecoders, but otherwise you can look at the generic AMP module
no. in-game mod browser is something on their roadmap for the future though. In the meantime, curseforge is "partnered" and there are a couple community-maintained repositories.

The template will be finalised shortly after the server files are released, once testing and further configuration is done, and then added to the AMP repo. For whatever reason the Hytale devs decided to provide incomplete server configuration info publicly, and only have kept paid server providers informed properly

The server has a native mod loader that is architected similarly to Bukkit/Spigot if you're familiar with it. You just put mods into the "mods/" folder and the server will load it.
When a client connects to the server, all assets (models, sounds, ui, etc) will be automatically downloaded

- Plugins (Java .jar files)
- Asset Packs, or just Packs for short (textures, models, sounds, behavior definitions in .json files, etc)

The more anything the more resources you need. It's basically how many chrome tabs you open up and what is running in each in those tabs.
It's a rule of thumb. the actual usage heavily relies on gameplay. A bunch of players loading chunks in separate areas will use much more ram than if they are together on a fixed map (like minigames)

You can download the server downloader but not the server files
they talking about the CLI,
Two options to obtain server files:
Manually copy from your Launcher installation (they not there yet)
Use the Hytale Downloader CLI (you can run it but gives 403 (forbidden) )

You can download the CLI tool but it will give you a 403 error when using it after verification.

this a feeling, but when you doing it commercially like selling i think your are required by ToS (something you will need to read into)
If you do it as a singler network so only for your own server your fine

I'm curious to see when the game launches if the download servers die. I mean, we should download the launcher beforehand to not crash the servers, but the game can't be downloaded beforehand.

It will. But for automation tasks, there is an extra hytale-downloader cli that can additionally download the server files without a gui
