horse gets shot dead -> how long does it take to die? it's possible they just slowly flop onto the floor instead of quickly collapsing like you chose.
player falls off the horse -> the player could have been given a chance to save it and fall safely, it's entirely possible that the player could react fast enough to land in a comparatively safe positon. Still taking some damage, but not catastrophic amounts
horse falls on the player -> If following realism, the horse is closer to the ground. Therefore the horse hits the ground first and there is no way for the player to be crushed by it, if anything the player should be the one crushing the horse, that is unless the horse is dying slowly rather than quickly; but in that case it's likely enough time for the player to safely jump off the horse.

basically what I'm trying to say here is what I'd interpret to happen is

the horse gets shot

the horse falls onto the floor after keeping going a bit because it's dead

the person riding it accidently let's go and is flinged forward a bit because of deceleration and stuff (idk I almost failed physics)

the horse during this time finishes hitting the floor because it is still dead

the jockey then proceeds to hit the floor as well, most probably headfirst

(this is assuming they don't do anything to negate the fall in any way, or avoid it entirely such as jumping off the horse when things looked bad to land on their legs)

anyways on dirt, I'd imagine they get some bruises and depending on the height of the horse and the speed the horse was moving at possible a few things worse than that, but probably not straight up head splitting or anything crazy unless they landed on a rock (which making them land on a rock would definitely be extra if it's already established they aren't riding in a rocky area)

but given neks track record I'm going to assume he's playing as someone beefy enough to not be completely messed up by this amount of force on this sort of surface
