To me that idea fits here similary to the divines being rotting corpses fueled only by worship and their last energy in creation. I would view GOLB in a similar light to Alduin, he may be outwardly evil but his domain of change and chaos works naturally to bring one world to the next. I would compare the Lich to Mannimarco. They were both regular scholars who eventually ascended beyond mere mortals, Mannimarco with the Necromancer's Moon and becoming patron of Necromancers and the Lich with becoming an embodiment of not chaos, but death and death alone. I could also make the comparison of Sithis vs. GOLB here where Sithis is the true primordial force of death and darkness, while GOLB embodies eldritch chaos. The Lich and Mannimarco respectively taking the mantles of these beings into their own realms of godhood but twisting them with mortal views and biases.
