Yeah I will concede to that, however if you want to create a simpler, more streamlined experience, clicking buttons is generally simpler than typing text.
Plus a lot of terminal programs have very hard to figure out naming conventions. If you walk up to someone uninitiated and ask them about cd; they'll be extremely confused, but ask them what they must do to to navigate through a file system and they'll answer in some varying form of "through a GUI file manager".
Plus a program halts when taking user input in a terminal which closes down a few opportunities which are pivotal for games and possibly some edge case.
I hate using this point but if terminals outclassed graphics in any meaningful way, Windows, iOS, Mac, and Android would be set up very differently.
If it's a quick and dirty project that doesn't need to be 100% efficient, then a terminal is generally the way to go.
But if it's for anything else then a GUI is the much better option.
Also, terminals can create a GUI but at that point you'd be better off using graphics; terminal GUIs are limited to a big degree when compared to an actual GUI because they're just specially formatted text and symbols.
Terminals are actually the perfect starting point when learning programming in general or a new concept but once you get serious then there becomes little use for them realistically besides a debug tool.
