it could have not ben providing enough voltage causin the freezes, and then fully went out eventually

that would be my first guess id test the PSU

or something simple could be like the power button breaking but then the freezes would be unrelated

you can look up a youtube video on how to manually power it on from the motherboard without a power button

you can also check for loose cables inside the computer

like the cables connecting the power to the motherboard or the cpu

id start by testing the power button and the cables because thats the easist, then if I can test the PSU if I could, the CMOS battery is cheap to replace so you could do that but id search up how to test your PSU
