Their mines have to be in the correct biome for certain ores. Infernal for adamantine, crystal for mythril. You could also just drop the ore in their village

After they have the ore you can check the village inventory and they should start stockpiling weapons and armor. Then they'll gradually start to use them

However, Demons, Angles and Fire Elementals can survive in Lava EVEN IF YOU REMOVE Fire Resistance! But Crystal Sword and Crystal Golem just die.

If you give Fire Resistance to other species (ie Humans, Rhinos, Butterflies, etc.) They also still die from Lava.

After a little bit of testing, I think for angles, fire elementals and demons specifically, lava is coded like water; when their stamina runs out, they start drowning, rather than being directly damaged by the lava. Heat resistance does nothing to protect them from lava.
