I've been trying to see if it's possible to create stable predator/prey populations in worlds without sapient creatures. One problem I'm having is that the predators keep dying. Specifically my unicorns will get absolutely bodied by a horde of bunnies out for blood.

It just seems like either prey aren't sufficiently scared/squishy enough to actually serve as a stable food source that doesn't eventually kill the predator that's supposed to be eating them
