The Fermi Paradox
We live in a near infinite universe. So many planets like us. But we see nothing. Hear nothing. Where is everyone?
The Fermi Paradox is the dilemma between the overwhelming amounts of possibilities for aliens to exist in, and underwhelming evidence for aliens existing
What is the answer to the Fermi Paradox? What do you think? Below are the most common answers:
We are alone
We're alone. Nobody is with us
The Great Filter
Something, is stopping life from achieving intelligence. A "filter". It could be behind us, or ahead of us. Is it achieving intelligence? Is life inherently rare? Or does society break down in the future?
The Great Distance
The distances between the stars prohibit life from colonizing them. It is simply too far away to get to, or to detect. Too much space.
But the economy!
It is simply not feasible, or cheap enough to even bother colonizing space
The Zoo Hypothesis
We're not the independant life forms, we're an experiment. Other aliens do not interact with us. We're a 4.5 billion year experiment, a "Zoo" of sorts that aliens look at, but dont mess with.
The Dark Forest
Aliens stay quiet, because when their presence is known, someone is annihilating them. They keep quiet, in fear of what the enemy aliens will do to them.
The Maturing Idea
The alien civilization wait for us to mature and expand, before making contact with us. They will allow us to grow before talking.
We're the Aliens
We are the first to evolve intelligence. Others are just developing. We are the advanced aliens to them.
We aren't listening properly
Would the aliens even use our frequencies of radio waves? Would the aliens be able to read ours?
What do you think? Your answer doesnt need to be on the list.
