Yes it will. If it's not working you're either doing something wrong or you're trying to open a map that's far too large for your PC to run.

People have been uploading only the .wbox file for so long now and no one else has had the issue that you're having

A colour palette file is included in the archive file in that link and all colours are named for the terrain type they represent

You do have to make sure you use the exact colours in the colour palette in order for them to be converted to the right terrain

You open the program and it prompts you to open an image file. Select a .png image file (it has to be .png and nothing else) and the program will convert the image into a map. It will ask you if you want dithering for the image or not (google dithering if you don't know what it is), after which the map will be converted. The converted .wbox map file will be placed in the same directory as the image you used for conversion.

And then you just move the .wbox as you normally would for downloaded maps using this guide:

Also, the .aco file in the zip archive is the colour palette file used by the game. If you want to make a map from scratch, use the colour palette file with any art program like Photoshop or GIMP so that you use the exact colours, which should mean no conversion errors (such as certain colours being turned into a completely different terrain) when you convert the map.

1 chunk = 64 pixels

So if you want a 10x10 map for example, the image has to be 640x640 px

For reference, the Iceberg size on PC is 9x9 chunks

My phone won't let me move map downloads to Android\data\com.mkarpenko.worldbox\files\saves. It used to let me move files but now it doesn't even give me the data option when I'm navigating to saves with a file.

The populated version of the map is filled to the brim with civilizations. Use it as a reference for potential starting locations, as well as an approximation of "optimal" balancing for the map.

I have made it so every iteration of the map will play out differently, but generally there will be at least ONE major nation of every race by the 2000 year mark, even the dwarves!

The zip file contains the .aco colour palette file which contains all the exact colours used by the game

use it with any art program like Photoshop or GIMP to get the full colour palette

If you don't use the exact colours, the conversion will give you incorrect terrain types

I should also add that the colours are already labeled, which should tell you which terrain goes with which colour

Install ZArchiver and use that to get maps. File managers hide the files for some reason
