If they're ugly, your map can have all the blends and shapes it can, it will be ugly

Personally, i try to avoid using sand on coastlines, partly because i suck at detailing them, the other part is because it makes my maps look like islands

You don’t. You have to polish it in game. You can reduce distortion by trying to evenly increase it based on the maps current sizes, but there will always be distortion. Sorry

Lol I'm Android and ik how to download it, however when I download some converterted maps as the one I sent it's not how it looks, when I get in game the water is the ice biome, and when I zoom in the biomes have holes or mixed with different biomes if that makes sense

Yeah, that happens because the converter chooses the closes 'color' to match the biome with the color from the image

So you will get some cursed stuff if you don't edit the image with the correct color palletes

2. Now go to your phone’s "settings" application, after that find/search an factory system application called "Files" (has a darker blue background with a big white folder in the center of the icon), then click it,

4. After you see the three dots button, click the three dots button and then if it has an "uninstall updates" option there, make sure to choose the option (wait until the uninstalling process is done and completed to avoid a mistake),
5. Now open the third-party application (File Manager) and allow it to manage files,
6. Find the "Android" folder and open it, then open the data folder,
7. You'll see some popup, touch "ok"/"yes" and also touch the "use this folder" button at bottom without opening any files that are showing,

One i found that kinda gives a wboxish vibe is azgaar map maker

You can custom the colors there and it kinda looks like an unfinished map

But you'd still need to convert the image and then work some more on it to fix details and such

There was another map generator that had some realistic vibes

But the colors come all wrong so you'd still need to recolor the entire thing

And since it works on a globe, the maps come all with that mercator distortion

How do you all put so much effort into your maps? My basic technique is just to generate a default world, cut down all the trees, place new biomes wherever, and grow the trees back. It’s definitely not as advanced as most of the stuff I see here

It's not about putting effort. I just enjoy making maps. It's a fun hobby that other people can enjoy after I finish. But, if you're asking about the techniques specifically then those will naturally come as you try to refine your maps more and more, and editing programs are very helpful

are you able to load custom maps bigger than titanic because on my mediatek phone I can but on snapdragon 665 and 720g don't it only hangs on loading screen and then crashes

Yes! Just download a map the size you want and clear the ocean.
I just don't think you can make absurd sizes like 20x20 or more.
I already made 2 maps bigger than titanic.

Nice integrity of the continets format and biome transition, if i were to say something to change would be the rivers

Rivers "tipically" derive from higher elevations to the sea or lower elevations, usually depressions in the terrain.

What you can do is go from mountains and imagine pathways that lead to the sea

Here for example, my rivers they curve in the terrain where i make the elevations and they either fall into the sea or into lakes that are depressions in the continents

I make them with mountain, purely mountain, and then i carve it with low terrain

And for the effect of high altitudes, i place mountain peaks, some parts random some aglomerated

Gives a Nice view

But all inside the already made mountain

Sand is also a challenge to me, since they end up giving my maps a feeling like it's an island instead of a world, so i avoid using it

So if you have a green that's a little bluish, you will not get what you want

How to access the worldbox data folder on android 11 to 13.
If steps below don't work or android 14+ use these alternative methods :

1. Download a third-party application like "File Manager" from google play,
2. Now go to your phone’s "settings" application, after that find/search an factory system application called "Files" (has a darker blue background with a big white folder in the center of the icon), then click it,
3. you will be showed the "app info" screen after clicked the "Files" application, find the three dots button,
4. After you see the three dots button, click the three dots button and then if it has an "uninstall updates" option there, make sure to choose the option (wait until the uninstalling process is done and completed to avoid a mistake),
5. Now open the third-party application (File Manager) and allow it to manage files,
6. Find the "Android" folder and open it, then open the data folder,
7. You'll see some popup, touch "ok"/"yes" and also touch the "use this folder" button at bottom without opening any files that are showing,
8. If you have succeeded, the app will now have access to android file and can enter the saves folder in "com.mkarpenko.worldbox" folder.
