Most villages around 400 are too small to support a large population, so on average I have been seeing about 30-50k people.

The majority of the villages are from Europe, small islands, and counties capitals which are all too small to support large populations.

Rivers dont diverge (they dont split randomly) what happens is other rivers merging with 1 not 1 river splitting into multiple

water flows downhill so you could do is a river that follows from forest tile to grassland tile to sand tile or something like that

Rivers usualy dont form from the oceans and rather from glaciers or mountains

Lakes are usualy suplemented by 1 River only

I just noticed that I had three rivers running from no sources, lol. I didn’t even realize that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Also, I don’t know if it comes off that way, but none of my rivers are designed to come from the ocean. I circled in blue all the water sources, and the red X is just the spot I screwed up on.

It looks pretty nice. I’d recommend making those archipelagos possibly colder biomes (I.E. tundra or permafrost), as the jagged look would really fit a northern-style region (similar to the Norwegian coasts)

if you don’t have any population in the map, remove all the trees, bushes and minerals, save the map, go to the map preview, bring it into an image editor, expand the canvas size to whatever you need (while keeping the resolution in multiples of 64) make sure the new added space is deep ocean color, save the image, bring it into image to map, convert it, rename it to map.wbox, and ur done

Try using the pick tile tool from the map makers mod. If you create your map in game, you can just paint the mountains. If you make them via an image and then converting it, once you load the map use the map makers mod to convert the snowy mountains to some random tile before they melt. Then, convert the tile back to snowy mountains and they’ll stay
