finaly i have got the time to make maps again

It's very noticable how most map makers dont fill in their map in worldbox itself. There are no trees, ores, anything, it's just blank with only biomes and mountains

What are you on about, deserts are mostly caused in areas that have a severe lack of moisture there's a reason why in areas that are dry, you will see a desert.

The Sahara is dry, because it lacks moisture it's also why the Arabian desert is dry.

The Gobi and the tibetan are dry because the mountains around them block moisture.

The equator is prosperous because they get lots of moisture and currents and many other natural factors carry many things that life would then use to flourish in the regions the currents hit.

Aspiring geology major here, the currents' role is more of releasing or absorbing heat in the air above it, and the air temperature determines how well the air can hold moisture. Often coastal deserts are those where warm currents flow away and cold currents flow from north.

The rain shadow effect, where the wind flows play a more important role and the presence of mountains. A lot of coastal deserts like the Atacama are created this way, where the winds basically blow westward then the mountains absorb all it's moisture, leaving no moisture for the west side of the mountain

The west coasts would be deserts, but the east coast could be desert as well if you have a huge landmass in the east because all that landmass will absorb the moisture of the wind flow, which is how places like Arabia and Somalia are so dry despite being hit by warm currents, + monsoon seasons which is a bit more complicated (well Somalia is actually hit by rising cold currents from the global conveyor belt)

Guys, I urgently need testers who will point out the pros and cons of my map. The map is huge, as it is based on the universe of the game "Paper's Please" but in the medieval era. (PC Only)

You left the water mark and everything. Try in the future to not do convert spamming. Otherwise, good work on your most recent maps 👍

I made all the nations, did all the borders, and then the game decided to do this to me for absolutely no reason

In this case it's likely to be actually caused by him using the debug menu to give the villages unlimited zone range

Therefore, once you reload the map after opening the game again, all those extra zones will disappear since it will revert back to the default zone range of the game

It wasn’t any of that. The game glitched and every time I reloaded the game around ~25% of the population died, so the cities that had 1 population disappeared. I was able to fix it by giving each city around 20 people and letting the game run for 100 years

Doing the HRE in a zoomed out Europe map isn’t really that bad, you just need to make every pixel a village. I did it on my Crimean War map fairly quickly, and that was arguably worse because of the amount of states that had unconnected territory. As long as you’re good with matching borders and have an alright amount of patience, you should be fine.

Also, with all the states being weaker but belonging to the larger HRE alliance it’s really interesting because the AI kinda accurately represents how it functioned. It prevents Germany from getting like 750 soldiers instantly. With the HRE having accurate states it maxes out the army at like 300 and makes it less coordinated.
