I'd say add some ocean depth maybe, just for the looks. And put a few rivers in, besides that the map looks great especially the mountains, well done. Of course It's up to you if you want to post it as a cool map, but with the current mapconomy I'd say just do it

Hello everyone, I have some questions that I would like to ask concerning maps. My goal is to use this information to create maps the community would be interested in and hopefully it can help those who are starting out. So starting off…

Q: do you prefer sandy shorelines or no sand on shorelines?

Q: maps with all biomes , only realistic biomes, or only grass land?

Q: More chaotic ocean floors (reference being my most recent map) or more simple/smooth ocean floors?

Q: Realistic Mountains (which often take up more space) or more “Tolkien” styled mountains?

Q: Realistic maps of IRL countries and nations, or fantasy inspired?

Q: And finally, Should I keep making clean maps (maps with no additional features such as trees, pop., etc…) or should I branch into making maps with trees, populations, and other features.

1. In general I prefer no sandy shorelines but I feel like they can be worked into certain biomes and not others and still make sense.

2. Maps with all biomes for me, but ideally posting both is probably the easiest way to make everyone happy

3. I think chaotic ocean floors look better, but as someone who uses photoshop to stitch maps together (including yours) to make very large maps, simple oceans blend better

4. As good as realistic mountains looks Tolkien style mountains are always better for playability. Mixing in one or two very large mountains is fun though

5. Always fantasy inspired. Everyone makes realistic maps but good fantasy maps are harder to come by

6. I think experimenting could be fun but I always prefer clean maps for my own RP purposes

Also curious how long it takes for you to make maps or if you could be willing to post like a Timelapse of them? They’re really good and I struggle to make maps In such detail

1 chunk = 64x64 pixels

Therefore, if you want a 16x16 map for example, the size of the image has to be 1024x1024 px

Ok, I'm completely drained of ideas for my upcoming map. I would post a picture but I am currently not a high enough level so try to imagine this for me. Yeah your mountains are random and spontaneous. lowlands for some reason will transition straight into mountains. So my suggestion is that if you want an accurate map of a place

Get a land mask
Get a heightmap

And use the 2 to make an accurate map of the region

If you want you could get a river map too.
