1400x1800 can easily be converted with ~c 18, making a 14x18 map

think that's the best way to go about it

Well I am not an "official" Map Creator but I have made a few maps, and the only thing I could really suggest is to have a way to export maps from external sites with biomes, and I know there is a current one right now that can do that, but it doesn't really do it well if you can "perfect" it then it would make probably every map creator's life just slightly easier.

nikon is doing a mod based one, so it'd be in-game worldbox PC stuff. So wouldn't be an external site or discord or anything. Though if you're just using PC I'm sure a convertor built-in would be more efficient.

If you're struggling to get good results with biomes you may want to take the approach that the advanced map creators do, afaik

Which is use a photo editing app like photoshop, and only use the direct palette colors of the convertor

basically the convertor will always correctly convert said colors, meaning you will get a perfect conversion if you fill in the map with only that palette. Many programs have an option to import the palette file, which is included in the imagetomap++ stuff in pins. (As well as the convertor for biomes)

Trying to associate a color with a biome is difficult to do automatically otherwise. We see things subjectively when it comes to colors and what-not, so what may be blue may actually be closer to grey in reality, and the convertor selects a grey tile. I have tried playing with this, and I'm sure someone could improve it, but honestly doing 1:1 will just always have the best results.

Oh, I believe I used that before with an old map, but it ended up having some weird mixture between some biomes when I used the palette, especially with one converter in the pinned messages.

So eventually I just started making biomes by hand.

well except for the reason the biomes part you get is because you're not using the exact color and it thinks swamp which is a blackish color is the mountain tiles

with the biomes you gotta be closer since there are multiple similar colors
