It's my favorite type of art to make (mostly cause It's what I think I'm best at but still)

If you don't already have it figured out I highly suggest aseprite as a pixel editor. It's like $14-20 depending on if it's on sale or not but I think it's extremely worth it.
As for 3D pixel art or voxel art I don't really have any suggestions (I don't use those much). I think people use blockbench (not sure)
