A great war broke out. "Lives and Roots," more specifically the entire kingdom of Caacba, declared war on the massive alliance of "Fancy Skulls of Earth," led by elves, though their strength was largely sustained by orcs and skeleton structures. They also faced the "Shields of Beings" alliance, mostly controlled by ghosts aided by demons. Let's just say things didn't go well, and they were crushed. Now, it's practically just Caacba against everyone. They had a strong skeleton ally, but it was almost destroyed; they are alone. The crabs transformed almost their entire territory into a massive fortress. Will they be able to hold out, or will they fall to the elves, piranha men, orcs, skeletons, ghosts, and some demons? They launched a massive attack against the orcs, but it's barely having any effect, haha.

I created a lot of channels, straits, and irregular coastlines to make the water pattern look "alive." Using elongated islands and leaving open sea between continents also helps. If everything is just square masses, the water looks static. What I recommend most is thinking of the ocean as if it were real currents. Don't make continents perfectly round. Add faults, archipelagos, peninsulas, narrow passages, and lots of irregular areas. It should be a chaotic mess with structure. I've also taken a quick look at the Indonesia or Philippines map more than once. I also added the Sun Age, the Rain Age (I forgot the name lol), and the Dark Age. I thought about adding the Moon Age, but I feel that era fits better with futuristic settings than a coastal style.

Elves and skeletons have become the backbone of maritime trade and global navigation. They have forged the largest network of colonies and alliances among the islands, sometimes instigating wars for their own gain, like English buccaneer pirates, and other times aiding the development of other species, assisting orcs, ghosts, and piranha men. Those who refused to participate were the daemons and the crab men. The former, beyond their brute strength, are terrible at creating stable societies; they are powerful, but so bad at ruling that they literally left their own kingdoms in ruins and now spend their time as idlers, save for a few individuals who joined the ghosts. The crab men simply went their own way. In this case, we see where the piranha men came from. For most of their history, there was a massive power struggle in which they annihilated each other daily. Until they were contacted, specifically by the kingdom of Chap, so the deal was: "Help me free myself from my enemies, and you can have a piece of the land." This is how Chap finally managed to destroy the other factions in exchange for Toona and Sehel establishing colonies. Chap finally developed, bringing peace to the territory, which led to the creation of its navy and its eventual entry into maritime trade. The Ghosts, for their part, although they didn't join the alliance, did receive infrastructure and ports, which ultimately led to their expansion. They recently established their first colony. The recent war destroyed Sehel's main cities, and the Ghosts took them over, thus establishing their first colonies.
The orcs, for their part, are the alliance's largest military force, yet paradoxically, they've contributed the least. They're terrible navigators, and almost their entire focus has been on forcing their homeland into a fortress. It's safe to say that in the future they'll dominate the seas and perhaps subjugate everyone, but for now, they remain confined to their land. The other factions are surely shouting at them to get to work and use their strength to finally crush the crabmen. But the orcs of the "No Pop" kingdom are just saying, "Wait, I'm coming, I'm almost there, almost there, just a few steps, I'm close, just a few steps away." I suppose they haven't opted to attack Craacba on their own because they're still reeling from the recent war. Or perhaps they're waiting for the ghosts to do the dirty work. Maybe they feel intimidated by the fortress the crabmen have built and are waiting for the orcs to finish them off.

It's funny how the northern lands (mostly humans) claim a lot more land and have spread out cities while the southern lands (mostly elves) have a lot of villages close together. The humans have a custom culture becasue I like the way thsoe cities form better. The elven culture is randomly generated and I haven't touched it
