It was the year 156 Anno Haguro. After a 156 years since the herculean Haguro Shogunate's formation and dawn, fractures and cracks finally begin to materialize throughout the ruling class, ailing under the weight of its own ambitions and internal disunion; as with all empires, time had begun to reveal the fissures beneath the surface of this seemingly impervious regime. The Ōshima clan, an established and deep-rooted clan within the Shogunate, as well as direct vassals of the Shogun, begun to disapprove of the Shogun's recent decree on how to proceed with the eastern region, an uncharted and unexplored stretch of land, one that the Ōshima clan have set its sights on, their ambition; to have direct governance and authority over the would-be villages and fortresses that would undoubtedly be raised there in the Shogunate's name.

The Shogun, the arbiter that he is, refused; stating that the lands east were far too unhospitable for mass-residency; a perilous venture not worth the lives and resources it would consume. Yousai Haguro had ruled the Shogunate with absolutism for 151 years, he had seen his share of campaigns, and simply refused to sanction such a bold and, in his view, reckless endeavor. This has led to the overhanging coup that the Ōshima clan plan to stage, to take the Shogunate for themselves. Concurrently, the Kibara province to the northwest and the Kazan province to the south, both under Ōshima authority, have been set as the staging grounds of the insurrection.

The Ōshima clan confidentially funded and supported exploratory expeditions into the eastern lands as well, despite the shogun's decree. Currently, multiple exodus-expeditions have been sent, and Ōshima-funded military encampments & settlements were on the process of being built.

The civil war abruptly sets into motion following the significant movement of four battalions and two divisions of Ōshima samurai and footsoldiers, with a handful of small rifle companies from the far south of Haguro's borders, led by bannermen of the Ōshima Clan and their own recently indoctrinated lesser-clan vassals. The Shogunate was swift to respond as their stationed garrisons numbering about a dozen battalions and brigades of samurai positioned within their border fortresses and villages met the Ōshima troops in a head-on confrontation. Roughly the same could be said in the northern war theater. There weren't much 'tactics' initiated or portrayed by neither side, not when a dozen auxiliary-support magi-zamurai were deployed by both forces, with the Haguro Shogunate evidently possessing more magi-zamurai troops compared to the Ōshima.

This led to more than 800 Ōshima soldiers killed in action within the first minute of the battle, whilst the Shogunate suffered roughly 400. Keep in mind, those succumbing to immolation, blast injuries, and exsanguination among other things, weren't accounted for in the casualty reports. (Like 2,300 died the first minute, mostly civilians in the crossfire, but game doesn't count some deaths as casualties of war)

One lone Shogunate bannerman attempting to halt, or at the least stall, an approaching Ōshima Brigade of 400 zamurai after his company was wiped out by the rebels' recurrent and around-the-clock mass frontal assaults on the southern war theater. He was killed after setting fire to at least 24 Ōshima soldiers with his bloodline arts, resulting in a small disruption of said Brigade's movement to their designated military posts after suffering lethal thermal burn injuries.

Late year 196 Anno Haguro. Roughly 2 years since the incipiency of the first large civil war precipitated by the Ōshima Clan, with sundries of other Shogunate vassals either dissatisfied, or ambitious, joining them. The rebel sentiment was most deeply rooted within the regions of both the north & south west, specifically from the provinces of Kibara, Aomizu, and Kazan. Though, ever since its start, the war saw the mass exterminations and public executions of rebels and traitors alike, with excess of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire; these genocides and crimes against humanity by Shogunate soldiers were most evident within Kuzan, where said province is cut off from any support and reinforcements of fresh troops from the north west.

Multiple Shogunate battalions were sent to the budding Ōshima settlements established in the uncharted eastern lands as well after inside-information was seized by the Shogunate. The rebels, by this time, have gradually been seeing long strings of constant losses and humiliating defeats from the front theaters as they continued to throw resources and fodder into the Shogunate. Nevertheless, their settlements in the east are still holding against Shogunate forces rather significantly. The Shogunate have also took it upon themselves to send out multiple colonizing parties to the flatlands of the unconquered south, establishing four military strongholds there, as well as one to the east.

The current state of the Kuzan province; multiple battalions and a complete zamurai brigade directly from the capital of the Shogunate have broken into Kuzan, it had been weeks since then. In the streets, nothing could be seen other than Shogunate soldiers, as the scant few Kuzan civilians that survived and went out the streets were interrogated for possible treason; most of these interrogations ended in public executions. Currently, half of Kuzan had catipulated to the Shogunate, whilst the other half continue to fight vainly and without much success as they have had no fresh reinforcements since the start of the rebellion.

Inaugural year of 200 Anno Haguro. 6 years had progressed since the emergence of the civil war catalyzed by the Ōshima Clan. Recent few years had seen perdition, famine, and mass epidemics to both the Shogunate and the rebels clashing against it, with the devastation relatively more concentrated around the Northern Ōshima-Haguro borders. Almost no significant advances were made in the war, as any territory subjugated by either side was immediately taken back just a few short months after. Still, it was evident to all parties that the Shogunate had the coign of vantage with their centralized leadership, opposite of the Ōshima, whom despite still warring against the Shogunate, were actively holding petty diplomatic and politicking fights within their courts. This would change when...

Imperative news had arrived from the capital of the Haguro Shogunate, news of another, this time independent, revolt; these rebels were not aligned with the Ōshima, at least not directly cooperating with them. They are the Sakai Clan, one of the Haguro Clan's previously main subordinate-clans tied by arranged marriages. Latest insights distinguished that Kōji Sakai, nephew of the Shogun as well as one of his direct bannermen, was the one whom headed the rebellion. The majority of the provinces controlled by the Sakai clan and its lesser-vassals; Tsurugi, as well as half of Hoshizora and the small province of Seiryu had acquiesced, joining the rebellion in full, with Kōji Sakai as their figurehead.

In conjunction with these turns of events, the Daimyos of the Shogun from the southeast sends an accredited proclamation to the Shogunate, that they'll be seceding from the Haguro completely and will be acting as their own polities after seeing that the Shogunate didn't have the authority that it once had.

(All of these rebellions happened in a span of like 2 worldbox years, crazy to see all of the rebellion flags just popping up at the same time lol)

Year 256 Anno Haguro, 56 years thereafter the 'conclusion' of the civil war. Though said war wasn't entirely and officially 'ended' in paper, both the Haguro Shogunate - essentially just a Shogunate in name, as their previous influence is now a shell of their former self - and the now-proclaimed Ōshima Shogunate, had brought about an unwritten, but implicit armistice. 56 years had passed since then, and now, the powers that be rouse from their slumber once more.

To the east, the Zo Clan, one of the Ōshima Shogunate's more remote vassals who aren't much involved in the Shogunate's inner politics and manage themselves in a practically autonomous manner, have declared themselves disjoined from the Ōshima in the grounds that they've not sent assistance despite the barbarian raids from the south. The response of the Ōshima was expected; more than half of their eastern provinces' armies were mustered and sent to the Zo Clan's domains. With the news of an abrupt rebellion after 56 years of peace, the Rukugo Clan, another estranged vassal of the Ōshima Shogun, had decided to raise their weapons as well, and rebel for independence.

These developments prompted the wounded dragon, the Harugo Shogunate, to war. War against the allied clans of the south, those whom betrayed them during their weakest. The Gushiken Clan had already capitulated to the Haguro Shogunate's forces after their army was wiped out, whilst the rest of the Southern Clan alliance are on the verge of fragmenting as Haguro's armies storm their provinces.

Ōshima Shogunate's multiple battalions and a Samurai brigade focalizing once again within the outer borders of the Zo Clan's province after carrying out a string of constant large-scale infantry assaults to the Zo Clan's reinforcing armies. The result saw the rebels' main Samurai brigade wiped out. Multiple Ōshima shock-troops are also being funneled through the Zo Clan's steep alps as well in an attempt to engange the rebels' incoming auxilliary force and stall them until the Oshima main force captured the entirety of Zo's border-province.

1- Aero: A tribe of a peaceful emperor, he rules over his land with hopes of prosperity amongst the tribes. He does not wish to Unite, but to be separate but equal. However, don't be fooled. His Militia knows how to fight. They own the largest land mass.

2- Karnica: A tribe full of the Malcontents of the beginning, the people are at direst and always want more. They are willing to murder innocents for this cause.

3- Eugosila: A tribe full of Mountain/Steppe-Dwelling people (Similar to the Mongols). One with nature, prefer to stay confined in one space. Does not engage in much military actions.

4- Riaa: A tribe known for their abundance of resources, known for having a firm grasp on the river running through the Continent. They are the lead people of the world's trade. Focuses on Naval resources and warfare.

5- Beynin: A tribe known for its preference of open communication, this tribe wishes to unite all of them together again. Rather peaceful, focuses on agriculture.

The Nastovia Natives: A native tribe that has inhabited the lands of Manazia for hundreds of years, have a set of islands with a plethora of rare, and precious materials. Does not get along with any of the Mainland-Tribes.

The miitaries of these tribes have grown to atleast 40% of the Population, tensions rise as unrest grows at the size of each others militaries, threats seem to be everywhere, and countries sizes grow larger. It is now a cold war, and these Tribes rush to gain as much land as possible to be better than one another.

The last 100 years have been peaceful, and now the competition for power has begun. Its only a matter of time before they begin to clash boarders, when this happens it may burn a scar onto the lives of the continents people forever, perhaps they may start looking for an alliance with the powerful Nastovia Natives.
Or maybe they'll seize the Nastovia's resources themselves. The Nastovia may be the difference between total Warfare and world-wide prosperity.

PS. The Nastovia known the continents territory better than anyone, they lived there for hundreds of years before the arrival of the tribes. Thats why they may seek the Nastovia as an ally

The Domare Ridge Campaign, transliterated from the word "Domare" meaning "to tame" or "to break," was one of Valkland's most bloody military operations in history, lasting roughly 13 years. The seeds of war were sown when Agolon Ridge, the continent's neutral leviathan, emplaned and began a sudden, meteoric expansionist conquest. Initially, their colonization efforts were entirely concentrated on the southern territories within their borders, a movement that went largely unnoticed by the global powers. However, the situation intensified when constant waves of Agolon settlers and frontiersmen began migrating throughout the largely unpopulated northern grounds, where Valkland's cold territories laid.

This northward push by Agolon was perceived as a direct pressure to Valkland's authority, prompting an immediate, and somewhat forceful response. Said Agolon incursion prompted Valkland to mobilize its military forces and rally its allies within the Trigon Alliance, comprising the Yaanhil Coast-Country, the continent's undisputed maritime power, and the Barbari Free-States, an independent and barbaric human-orc polity. The alliance was forged out of mutual interest in curbing Agolon’s expansion and preserving the regional balance of power.

The campaign's operational course saw Valkland's entire military pushing deep into Agolon Ridge's territories, aiming to dismantle its frontier provinces. The war witnessed the total destruction of Agolon’s north-eastern frontier provinces. Agolon cities and rural settlements were razed, leading to the almost complete depopulation and destruction of infrastructure of these areas. The Valkans carried out strategic offensives that left Agolon reeling, attributable to Valkland's military academies and their rather prodigious field officers. The conflict resulted in more than 11,000 confirmed military casualties, with unprecedented civilian losses and wounded far surpassing these numbers, marking it as one of the bloodiest campaigns in recent history.

A small elite shock-troop Brigade moving through the South's mountain tunnels after successfully ambushing an Agolon garrison on Rytork, they wiped them out.

This Brigade is part of the Coalition States of Condors, a new polity that seceded from Agolon Ridge to form their own independent dominion in the far south whilst the war raged on in full. This brigade is the '5th Horologium', previously a part of Agolon Ridge's specialized assault corps directly under a six-star general. that is until the Brigade separated with the Ridge's military body to join the rebels of the South. Now, they act as Condors' primary assault troops.

(Almost everyone of them are elderly, and have at least 1 kill, so I assume they're veterans of the Domare Ridge Campaign, surprising since I've only seen 18-30 year old units after 13 years into the war)

20 years into the Age of Despair, the world splinters from its weight after the first world war ensues.

Drisvith, one of the continent's dying warrior culture. It had been in decline, much like most cultures, ever since the first world war. Its members are still comprised predominantly of Dwarven soldiers from the Dwarven dominions.

Reworked version of "The Supercontinent", with proposed mountain ranges. I found it more natural this way just after the continents start breaking apart instead of a large piece of land with desert in the middle.

One thing is that the world looks like it doesn’t have tectonic plates

And it has a bit too much islands

While I understand these plates don't represent every mountain range (Old Mountains). There is a method to the madness. This is also a very very large map, so islands here are somewhat habitable, granted when I decrease the size for the other two versions these islands will also shrink. An unfortunate byproduct of the process.

I tend not to get too wrapped into the tectonics, making sure they all fit like that. Leaves room for artistic freedom in design. I appreciate the feedback though.

Indeed this will be my largest project to date. It will have a population/civ map, a large medium and small (all in respective civ and blank maps), and maybe I'll plan religions and stories for the future.
