The Battle of Moor, was a devastating battle that occurred on the Southern Front of the Third Great Sciriel Rebellion where the autonomous rebel groups of the National Redemption Front, Ramari Separatist Movement, Quros Resistance Front & Ansaru Battalion Rebels begun their first 'substantive' offensive against the Sciriel Republic, where the two forces became locked in a protracted struggle for control over the Republic's Southern-Front city; O'Shel. This rebel joint-operation was led by seasoned veterans, influential guerrillas and remnants of the New People's Union of Orocon & the Apostate Government of O'Shel; the two previous and largest groups to attempt a coup in Sciriel history.
*Arcane missiles veined unremittingly through the air, leaving trails of irradiated light in their wake as they sought out their targets amongst the frenzy. Walls of flame from the auxiliary rebel mage corps stemmed from the earthworks, flooding out entire formations of Sciriel soldiers in searing infernos that left naught but ash and cinders. Clouds of inky smog roiled overhead, spewing forth needle-pointed shards of ice that lacerate through flesh and bone with grisly fluidity as thunderous explosions rent the air while alchemical concoctions unleashed torrents of fire and brimstone upon the armored masses. Balls of firestorms and otherworldy incantations exploded within rebel lines, sending mutilated bodies atop mutilated bodies. It mattered little, for their ranks still swell with warriors drawn from every corner of the Southern Front. Sciriel loyalist and rebels alike fell in scores, yells of suffering drowned out by war as they fought tooth and nail for every. Inch. Of. Ground. This was the Battle of Moor, a bloody battle that ended in a stalemate.*
Both sides placed great strategic importance on the City of O'Shel, as it was the largest industrial centre of the Elven Republic and an important import & export hub due to its numerous key ports: controlling O'Shel meant gaining access to the foreign trade of the Republic and having supreme authority over the Sciriel Sea. Unfortunately, the result of this battle saw the City of O'Shel and its countryside quite literally pulverized. Decades of land cultivation would be needed as well for the land to be cultivatable again.
