Spores-Mushroom
This is a new idea: Spores-Mushroom.

  • Spores will pour out of it.
  • There will be Mini-Spores-Mushrooms next to it, they can also spread spores, but less than Spores-Mushroom.
  • Spore-infected (spore-monsters) will not go to the Spore-Mushroom, but those spore-monsters that are near the Spore-Mushroom will be treated.
  • Civilizations will send their warriors to destroy the Mushroom Spores.
    •After the destruction of the Mushroom Spore, all the Mini-Mushroom Spores will disappear.
    •Some creatures can eat Mini-Spores-Mushroom and get infected with spores, a list of creatures that can eat Mini-Spores-Mushrooms:
    Sheep, rabbit, cow, zombie, bear, cat.
    •All flies near the Spore-Mushroom will receive damage.
    •If you water the territory next to the sporogrib, then with some chance mini-sporogribs can grow.

1)A new building-a barn:

  • Sheep, cows and chickens will be driven there.
  • The hay will be delivered to the barn.
  • The animals will breed in the barn.
    •If the barn is on fire, then all the animals choose from it.
    •When a settlement is captured, all the cattle are captured.
  • The barn can accommodate 70 animals.
    2)Beehives with bees:
    •If a wild hive with bees is located on the territory of the kingdom, its inhabitants can collect honey from it, but it will not be part of the kingdom.
    •In order for the hive to become part of the kingdom, a wooden hive is built from it (with a roof of the color of the kingdom).
  • The hive has three filling phases:
  1. There is no honey there;
  2. Filled to the middle;
  3. Fully filled.
    3)The new plate is Chernozem.
  • Civilizations will plow the chernozem and create fields on it.
  • Wheat will be almost faster on chernozem.
    4)Corn:
  • Now wild corn will RARELY appear on the plains.
  • The player can plant corn himself.
  • Residents of the kingdom can plant corn in their fields.
  • Corn is used for making bread.
    •3 new ears grow from one corn.
    •Unlike wheat, corn needs to be grown with the help of corn seeds, that is: there are 3 ears, 2 can be left for feed, but one needs to be planted to get more.
  • Corn gives 5 ears if it grows on chernozem.
  • Corn can be given to animals.
    5)New achievement - "From the seed"
  • It is given if the player himself plants the seed in the garden.

All the squads in a nations army should respond to threats accordingly, no matter the distance. I've noticed that when I have a nation with a large army (1,000+), the squads do not coordinate or communicate. Each squad attempts to face the large threat alone, and only when its in close proximity to its village. My suggestion is that, when something like demons or undead enter a kingdoms borders, all of its units respond to the threat.

To repeat this, try spawning a large amount of demons nearby a large kingdom. You'll notice that, as the demons burn through the villages, the first responders are typically unarmed civilians instead of the army deeper in the kingdom. Sometimes, squads that are in close by dont even come to help. In the example I just watched in my world, a king was running, alone, to have a large army of demons, but there are 5 squads in nearby villages that did not come to aid.

I don't really know to specify it or how it could work, but, an option for natural world terrain generation.
I sent a lot of meteorites on my world leaving a lot of land shattered and it looks like a salad with sand, grass, rocks and burned ground everywhere at random. I just thought that a natural process of nature's regeneration would be good which would give new islands, lay down rivers, etc.

New Government Forms, like a democracy and a monarchy, in a monarchy the next leader of a country will be the oldest son of the current king, while in a democracy the next leader will get randomly selected after the current leader dies or after some time passes. A country can become democratic if the King gets overthrown by a ^Revolution^, while a democracy can become a dictatorship/monarchy if it gets overthrown by a ^coup^. While a monarchy is more expansive and aggressive towards other country’s, the democracy stays peaceful most of the times. But the Monarchy is more unstable and will have a lot more problems with separatism. Especially if the current King dies.

New building type- Archer towers. It is a building that is built when a kingdom has hit a certain population threshold. Let's say for example, 50 population is when the first one is built. There can only be 5 units in the tower( as to not have your entire population disintegrate an army).

The plus side is that an attacking force has to destroy the tower before it can get to the units inside. There should also be a limit to how many towers that can be created(depending on the population). Let's say maximum of 6 towers can be created

Not sure if this has already been suggested, but it'd be neat if you could either enter a character in which you can control/walk around similar to how the giant crab functions. Doesn't need to be super complex, just allow you to walk around, maybe attack, etc. You could enter/control leader you could like rally troops to follow you into a battle. Regular villagers or village leaders could be controlled to direct the flow of a city's buildings, such as laying down roads. Again, not wanting it to be overly complex, but just allowing some more direct intervention among the NPCs.

Just some ideas I was thinking of that I thought were worth mentioning. It's a lot, so take away from it what you will, if anything at all.

Faith and Fortunes Update

  • Introduces a toggleable/optional faith system for NPCs. Faith is increased when prayers are answered, and is decreased when nations loose a war, begin to die of diseases or hunger, and so forth.

Faith may also be increased by performing actions to terrify NPCs such as summoning lightning, raining fire, meteors, etc., though has a high chance of giving them the paranoid trait, or simply decreases their faith altogether.

  • Higher faith will result in higher loyalty among town leaders, adds a higher friendliness proficiency to neighboring nations, results in more NPCs with positive characteristics in the nation, etc.
  • Adds functional "Temples" to cities for every race. Temples act as locations in which NPCs can go to "pray" and ask for blessings. Prayers can include the sending of rain, the blessing of an army in battle, the warding away of diseases, banishing undead, etc.
  • Adds more "blessings" that can be imparted upon NPCs. These include immortality, haste, strength, wisdom(diplomacy), revival(upon death), etc.
  • Adds "Priests" which act similar to guards/soldiers, their power being based on faith. Attack using lesser thunderbolts, fire, light spells, etc. May also "banish" dark creatures. Priest skins vary depending on the race, such as orcs having shamans, humans having monks, etc.
  • (?) Adds the sealing of demons/undead/necromancerss by priests. These seals keep the dark creatures beneath them so long as the faith of the city is high enough. If the city falls or the faith goes below the minimum requirement, the seal breaks and the creatures can attack the city.
  • Adds new powers such as making a region "permanently dark", giving dark creatures a buff within that region; creating droughts where no foliage or crops can grow and animals die, to give some examples.

Combination of a bunch of different suggestions of mine: Interracial kingdoms? So when you start off only units of the same race will build a kingdom. But if a units happiness is low enough, they will immigrate to another random village (of a different kingdom). That village could be of a different race or the same race. People will also move countries if their village has been ravaged by war, or been completely destroyed/taken over. Government positions (soldiers, generals, leaders) will still be employed by members of the original race, unless the king has an “equalist” trait, in which case those positions could be taken by any race.

This update would mean that soldiers of a different race wouldn’t kill civilians, unless they have the bloodlust trait.

If a villages racial demographic is much different from the capitals, and the king doesn’t have the equalist trait, they will have a debuff to their relationship (ex: a kingdom of orcs has taken over a mainly human village. The orc king doesn’t allow them to become soldiers or leaders. This leads to a worsened diplomatic score). The debuff increases if the races hate each other, so humans and orcs will have an increased debuff.

I think it would be cool if there was a small chance someone will be born with the “adventurous “ trait. In this scenario, they will meet up with others with that trait to form a party. They can be from different races or even warring kingdoms. The party has a limit of up to 10 people. They start off with leather armor and wooden tools, and then head out to the nearest monster, whether that be a bandit or a dragon. If they defeat it, they get higher priority of gear from their kingdom. For each enemy they defeat that priority gets higher (scales with difficulty, so killing a zombie isn’t as great as killing a dragon). If there are no monsters, they will sit and wait for them to spawn. If they get the crippled trait while battling, they retire, and have higher priority to become a general, soldier, or king. If an adventurer gets to level 10, statues of them will be built in their home village. If the developers wanted, they could make it even more like dnd by adding in different classes (like paladin or wizard), but that would probably be far too complex.

First in depth look at my idea for an update, adding onto my suggestion from a few days ago.

-The World Of Life Update-

New biomes!

Swamp: Would generate naturally and have tiles that can be placed down, when generated naturally they would spawn with small canals of water running through them, with lily pads, mangroves, cattails, and more growing throughout. The soil would be muddy and dark, same with the water. Alligators, shoebills, frogs, and snapping turtles would spawn here.

Savanna: Would generate naturally and have tiles that could be placed down, it would feature golden grass, tall grass, baobabs, shrubbery, and rock formations. In the savanna, lions, rhinos, and Tasmanian devils would spawn.

Jungle: Jungle biomes would be incredibly thick and hard to navigate through, with tall trees and vegetation closely packed together, vines would hang down from these trees. New animals would spawn here, like gorillas, monkeys, tigers, etc.

Infernal: Infernal biomes would always spawn near volcanoes and would feature charred, black ground, dead trees, and lava rivers, and rock formations, it would be incredibly hard for civilizations to settle here, but orcs have the best chance of survival.

Improvements to current biomes!

Forest: Forests will now contain more shrubbery, flowers, and more. New animals will spawn in the forest, such as eagles, deer, and horses.

Desert: Deserts will now spawn more unique kinds of cacti, rock formations, and new animals, such as vultures, rattlesnakes, and lizards. Skeletons of dead animals will now have an uncommon chance of generating in the dunes.

Snowy Tundra: The snowy tundra biome will now include more variations of trees and animals, such as harp seals near the coastline, arctic foxes, polar bears, and more.

Oceans: Oceans will now include new fauna and flora, now, seaweed can be seen floating on the surface, and fish, sharks, whales, jellyfish, stingrays, and more can be seen swimming around. Coral reefs will also be visible from the surface under the ocean.

New Mechanics!

Temperature: Temperature is a new mechanic that depends on the biome, civilizations settling in biomes will now have to take Temperature into account, if a civilization is too underdressed or overdressed for a biome, they will either freeze to death or die from a heatstroke, the status of an npc's Temperature can be checked with the new temperature meter, which brings me to the next mechanic!

Clothing: Civilizations will now use leather and other resources to create clothing, to combat either hot or cold weather.

These are just a few ideas.

New mechanics!

Improved Warfare: The warfare system is now completely overhauled, now featuring more strategic planning, more epic battles, and more, features to improve the warfare are...

New soldier types: New soldiers are now added to a kingdom's arsenal, this includes shieldbearers, who carry shields and rush into battle, taking the brunt of any attacks, priests, who heal soldiers one by one, and paladins, huge tanky units that always have the giant trait and wear fancy armor, that do insane damage but get tired quickly, and need to rest every now and then.

Battle Planning: Kingdoms will now plan attacks more carefully and make formations depending on the biome, location, and enemy.

Siege Weapons: Siege Weapons such as catapults and ballistas will now be used on the battlefield, against armies and city walls (I'll get to that in a moment)

Walls: Walls will now be built on kingdom's borders, with archer towers near a main gate and guards lining the perimeter.

Battleships: Ships with cannons will now be used to Siege any armies or cities near a coastline.

Alliances: Kingdoms with good relations will team up against enemies.

Military Outposts: The military of kingdoms will now create small camps in the wilderness or near cities consisting of tents, flags with the sigil of the kingdom, and campfires, these outposts will be used to scout out potential expansion areas or threats or to spy on enemies.

Ransom: Sometimes, leaders will be kidnapped by enemy kingdoms, and held for ransom for a random amount of gold or gems.

War names and menu: A menu containing currently waged wars and wars of the past, containing information about the selected war, such as casualties, destroyed homes, resources consumed, and the victor.

Celebrations: When a war is a won, kingdoms will now celebrate by launching fireworks and having a small festival in the capital, citizens would then be more productive for a small amount of time.

These are just a few ideas.

The next idea I have for an update is....

-The Monsters and Magic Update-

New monsters!

Trolls: Trolls would be large, gray, brutish creatures that would be a decent bit bigger than a human with the giant trait. They would attack by slamming the ground and would occasionally spawn naturally in the depths of a forest biome. They are primitive and would make rugged gatherings around campfires, cooking cows and other creatures.

Ents: Creatures of the woodland that would resemble trees with dark eyes and legs, they would hate every other race besides elves, who they protect.

Giants: Creatures resembling humans that that tower over most other creatures and attack by slamming the ground with a huge club, the name of the giant trait would now be changed to "giant blooded".

Banshee: A wispy, ghost like creature that would haunt ruins, screeching at any trespassers and attacking them mercilessly.

Gorgon: Snake haired humanoids that would turn creatures into stone when looked at.

Phoenix: Small firebirds that would fly over cities, granting blessings to honest and kind citizens.

Kraken: A mini boss like creature around the size of Crabzilla that would swim in the oceans of a world, they would use giant tentacles to drag down boats and other creatures in the water, any unit that could kill a kraken would get the "kraken slayer" trait.

Magic!

Enchantments: Now, pieces of armor and weapons will uncommonly be created with enchantments on them, usually varying in power. Some enchantments could have bonuses like setting opponents on fire, dealing more damage against a certain race or monster, extra protection, or extra knockback.

Staffs and spells: Some citizens can now rarely get ahold of staffs, and will then become wizards of the city, they would be able to cast spells such as creating forcefields, blasting opponents back, and more, the animation for these attacks would usually involve runes appearing over the npc using them.

Changes:

Dragons now look more intimidating and are way more powerful, and steal gold from kingdoms to store Ina dragon's den, a new structure in the ground made by dragons. Anybody who can kill a dragon will get the "Dragonslayer" trait.

Cold ones and Demons: These two monsters will now make "settlements" where ever their respective structures are placed, they wouldn't be like villages, just areas to mark as their territory.

Radiation: Using radiation on an area will make it a nuclear wasteland, mutating or killing anything inside the vicinity.

Tidal Wave: An ability that, when used on a body of water, will create a massive wave to devastate a chosen area of land.

World Layer: An ability that would let you look at various layers of the world, the first would be the usual, the second would be under the ocean, and the third would be underground, where you can see mines and the creatures using them.

Possession: This ability would let you take control of any unit of your choice.

World Size: This ability would let you change the size of a currently existing world.

Border Editing: This ability would allow you to edit the size of a kingdom's borders.

Day/Night: This ability would allow you to toggle a day night cycle, this would be a purely cosmetic feature and wouldn't really effect gameplay.

Trait Editor: Exactly what it sounds like.

These are just a few ideas.

-The Age of Men Update-

New races!

Nords: A hardy people who only settle on snow tiles, they would dress in thick clothing and would have architecture of mostly wood and a bit of stone, and their buildings would look somewhat similar to Dwarf buildings. Nords would have a resistance to cold temperatures and cannot be frozen, they like humans but don't like dwarves.

Halflings: A race of small humanoids around the size of a human child, halflings would be a peaceful race that wouldn't get involved with wars and would live a more calm existence, they love to farm and make their homes in small little hills that would protrude from the ground. They don't like orcs.

Goblins: A greedy and green race of humanoids around the size of an orc child, these creatures set up small, primitive camps across the world and are mostly neutral merchants, traveling in caravans with goods packed in wagons and on cows, and would sell valuables in kingdoms. Sometimes, they will even steal goods from a random kingdom and resell them to others, they would always spawn with the greedy trait and dont like elves.

Mermen: A race of aquatic humanoids that make their home in the world's oceans, they'd make their homes under or sometimes above water and would try their best to be neutral due to their inability to fight back against any potential enemy from land. They like elves but don't like orcs.

New building, areas, and mechanics!

Marketplaces: Cities will now sometimes spawn with a marketplace in it, where caravans or local businesses can set up shop.

Churches or Temples: Places of worship where civilizations can pray to you or other "gods".

Barns and Corrals: Places where livestock can be kept near farmland, you would be able to see livestock in fencing or inside of the barn.

Graveyards: Influential or important figures in a kingdom will be memorized in a new graveyard area.

Fishing Docks: Cities near coastlines can now fish off of docks.

Carriages and Caravans: Despite goblins having the goods market cornered, some people will still travel between cities, setting up shop in marketplaces with horse drawn carriages.

Roads: Kingdoms will now build roads in between cities.

These are just a few of my last ideas, if anyone is interested in more or other update ideas, please let me know.

For ex: A Military man Breeds with a woman who also served in the Military and when their offspring is born he/she has a 60-80% chance of joining the military but heres the thing they are more skilled and tactically trained than other people who just joined the military which also means they have a higher chance of surviving wars depending on the scale of the battle. This would allow people to be more suited in their Jobs and allow the possibility of Super Elite Soldiers and Elite Blacksmiths, Farmers, ETC. This also allows the unit to be able to get its way to the top rather than you babysit it and make sure your favourite doesnt die. This would actually ensure your favourite to have learned from battles and when to attack to know when to retreat.

•Prodigy - Enhances its ability to increase its stats by 4x by having high performance in its current occupation, There are no downsides to this trait but only less than 1% of the population will have this trait but are given a 50-70% for its offspring to be born a prodigy when uts parents are both prodigies

    •Intelligence - Determined by the experience and age of the unit increases as time passes
    •Skill - Measured by performance in its current occupation

A “better war” update

Instead of having a general simply rush into a village and take it, either an invasion (small/medium villages) or a full-scale siege (large villages/capitals) can happen

Invasion: virtually the same as the current captures, but instead, a square of Nation A (invader) will appear inside of the territory of a village in Nation B (defender), and will spread (village being invaded will keep the same name) as the invading force expands and conquers more and more territory, once the village is completely invaded, it will be incorporated into Nation A’s territory.

Sieges: When attacking a large city or capital, Nation A will blockade a port to keep any and all trade or transport boats out, more inland the attacking force will burn wheat fields and destroy mines, this will go on until the city is either completely destroyed or the city surrenders, the fall of the capital will mark the end of that war.

  1. It’d be cool if there was a tool where you could expand a city’s borders.

  1. Personally, I think it’d be cool if you could manually place down buildings for beings. For example, you could place down a few mines in a city, or a ton of houses, ETC.

  1. It’d be cool if gold was more of a thing, and economy as a whole. For example, beings could set up little shops that sell alcohol, food, provisions, ETC. blacksmiths could even sell to civilians. It’d also be cool if you could see how much a civ is worth, the more they’re worth, the more they could contribute in taxes to the city.

Necromancer update:
-if a unit kills something with the necromancer staff, it will become a skeleton bound to the will of the unit (even if the unit with the staff is a normal unit and not an actual necromancer), this skeleton will not be attacked by members of the staff owner’s kingdom and will follow the unit that killed them around and fight their foes.
-if a king has a necromancer staff, all units who die in their kingdom (or are killed by their army) is raised into a skeleton, it will behave like a soldier and join armies (whether they have weapons or not) but will not add to the number of soldiers for the max amount.
-after reaching level 10, necromancers will be given a unique ring with the name “phylactery of the lich”, this ring will cause the unit to be immortal, and if they are killed, they will respawn in a random location with the skin of a skeleton (but with their outfit) and with all their traits. They will keep their inventory and will still have their rank (if the ring’s holder had a rank before death), the only way to permanently kill a lich is to have it be killed by a blessed unit or a legendary weapon. If a unit takes the ring and has the blessed trait, they will lose it and gain the evil trait.

New structures, Castles

Castles would be gigantic castles (obviously) that would be a fair bit larger than a townhall, and would be built in the capital city, any king that's elected will move into the capital and in turn the castle regardless of what village they live in.

Castles would vary between races, with human Castles looking like your standard medieval one, what the other ones would look like I'm not too sure.

Kings would spend most of their days here, discussing relations with other kingdoms and doing, yknow, king stuff.

Guards would be stationed outside the castle gates, standing around looking out for any threats.

Future Civilization Update.

Belief System:

Each civilization will have a set of beliefs. If a civilization forms in a desert, where there is no food, it can develop a belief of cannibalism to meet the food requirements of the colony. If there is overpopulation, and not enough food. A civilization can set a belief that all second-born children will be killed. Or a belief similar to spartan Agoge, in which the people with negative genes/negative traits are killed off, while the ones with better ones, get to live. This will simulate culture and make the civilizations of the game more diverse.

Laws/Customs:

With a laws/customs system, a civilization can implement laws that dictate their civilization. For example, some gold will be sent to colonies of the original village/capital. All people who commit crimes can be executed, and vice versa. Things like that. However, the lower the diplomacy of a leader is, or the younger they are, the worse decisions they make.

If a governmental body makes laws that contradict themselves, or harm their civilization and their people significantly, this can lead to a rebellion. These rebellions will be different to the ones in the current game. They will appear as people in the villages holding signs and posters, protesting their rights, and eventually they will fight back, etc., etc...

Part2

Bandits: Instead of acting as mobs, bandits act more like pirates/minor civilizations. They too, will develop beliefs/culture, and will create forts instead of towns. Instead of randomly throwing bombs, bandits will always throw firebombs at enemies. Enemies include hostile creatures, soldiers, government officials, such as kings, diplomats (new job). However, instead of killing civilians, they will instead leave them alone, with only a small chance of robbing them of gear/items within a city. If a civilian encounter them outside of a city, the chances will be significantly higher. Bandits would no longer drop TNT bocks in the world (grieving), and can now reproduce, with themselves.

Bandits can also be naturally made, this happens if a civilian of a city/civilization does not agree with a law, culture, custom. And they will be exiled. This adds a new trait that permits soldiers to keep an eye on them if they enter cities, to see if they steal/rob the money of the city, etc.

Money/gold/gems/ores will be stored in a new building called a warehouse.

New Units:

New units can be placed. These are separate races from the original 4. Dryads, a nomadic subspecies of elves, related to druids, and normal elves, prefer deserts/oasis’ and use swords, rather than bows. These elves are faster and stronger than your average forest elf and can colonies forests Aswell.

Another new unit will be called desert-orcs. These units live in a state of perpetual war. They are much stronger than your average orc, they eat less, and are always in a state of anger ‘emotion’, they are the only species/subspecies that hate all living things, not just humans, elves, etc...

Their belief/cultural system will usually adopt cannibalism, tribalism, spiritualism. (Believing in gods).

These orcs will have darker skin to protect them from harmful UV Rays, or radiation. (Another possible element). They often harbor the evil trait, and being born without one is rare for them, and usually results in death depending on the cultural belief of that civilization.

The last unit that can be added is Humans. These are another race of humans that take on a darker skin tone. Like the desert-orcs, these humans have resistance from radiation + UV Radiation. They can create civilizations on sand, ice, forest, plains, etc... Although these humans are more content where they are and prefer living in sand. These humans almost always adopt a spiritualism belief, and are significantly stronger, tougher and faster than the average human. They prefer bows rather than the mix of both swords and projectile weapons and hate desert forces. They tend to build middle eastern style buildings in deserts, and when in savannahs (new biome), they tend to build wooden huts, shelters, villages. And igloos/stone buildings in ice habitats.

New power: Rapture + Purification.

The rapture power, when used will eliminate all creatures in the world with good traits, or without traits (normal), and will only leave those with harmful/negative traits. All new creatures born into the world after this is activated are born evil, or with negative traits. The rapture-state can be disabled in the settings menu.

The purification power is the opposite of the rapture one. When used, it will eliminate all beings in the world with bad traits/negative traits, or organisms with no traits at all (normal). After it is used, all creatures in the world become positively affected. They prefer eating plants, they are pacifists, etc... This state can be deactivated in the menu like the previous one.

Heres my idea on how to update the bandit very simply

Much like the demon tower, and the cold ones tower, we can place a bandit outpost that spawns bandits to patrol the area

They will be a little more organized than demons or cold ones as in they will lead attacks against cities and pillage their resources to use for themselves.

When they destroy houses they steal a small portion of the loot from the village, if the village is destroyed they get all of their resources

Outposts can get built over time too, eventually in an unclaimed spot a few people will build the outpost then become bandits. And more bandits will spawn from the outposts

an update to hoe nukes work

The nuke in this game is just a giant dynamite with an animation, here are my suggestions to fix it.

Point 0 range, this is in the very center area of a nuke, I would suggest a 6 pixel radius for atom bombs and 16 pixel radius for tzar bombas. Everything in this radius is killed, no matter what the creature is, if there entire body is in this radius. The ground all turns into sand or deep water (depends on whether the block was originally in water or land).

Radiation, radiation renders the land deadly for a random amount of years (5-500 is my best suggestion) where if the creature gets in the area of the explosion once damaged, or just the point blank range, any living entity who enters it has a 75% risk of getting radiation poisoning, which il go into detail later, but in the radioactive zone, it will look like burns on the ground, but in a green tint. It cannot be colonized but can be built in.

Radiation poisoning, there's a 50% chance someone damaged by a nuke will get radiation poisoned, and 75% chance if someone enters the radioactive zone of a post explosion with every second there in it. Radiation poisoning does 20-50 points of damage every month after being infected, with only a 10% chance of survival. If they have children while there poisoned the children run the risk of being infected by a 10%, and of they have children, its 2% and onwards

your suggestion add basic strategy for war. There is the offensive strategy and the defensive strategy. There are subdivisions to each strategy (example: offensive can be rapid frontal, or sneakier like landing a ship behind enemy lines). The strategy subdivisions chosen and the amount of regiments dedicated to either offense or defense depends on power differences. A large kingdom would have fewer regiments for defense/have most regiments be on the offense against a small rebelling city, for example, and they would prefer a full frontal assault rather than anything sneaky. The small city would dedicate everything to defense, and whatever they may have to attack is via sneaky means. The choices also depend on the king's traits and mood and personality. Finally, a king's warfare statistic should determine just how many regiments he can actually organize together to be cohesive. A king with a poor warfare stat would be left with the vast majority of his troops sitting around doing nothing in their own cities. Overall, just making warfare more focused and cohesive is a good idea.

With the civilizations update, kingdoms had been given more unique aspects to each of the four races, however I believe that it would be interesting to see some new races added to shake things up a bit more.
Here are a few ideas

  1. Lizardmen : They prefer deserts (possibly swamps and savannas if added) being lizards, they have the slowest hunger rates to survive in such a place. They lay eggs like chickens. Scales given them good armor. Hates orcs, humans, and dwarfs. If dinosaurs are added perhaps they can be passive to the lizardmen like how the elves are passive with wolves and bears. Their special food they can make perhaps Ribs?
  2. Goblins : similar to orcs but shorter, weaker, and prefer using bows. They can be conquered by orcs or conquer orcs and confederate into their kingdoms. Hates dwarfs, humans, and elves. Their special food, perhaps crab cake ?
  3. Dark elves : hates regular elves. Likes Orcs and goblins, possibly passive to necromancers or evil wizards. Perhaps they can be created by cursing a regular elf?Their special food, perhaps honeycomb?
  4. Ratkin : instead of just being spawned could be created alternatively by cursing a rat king turning it into a Ratkin. shortest lifespan of all the races, breeds faster than any of other races. Hates everything other than rats, very rebellious. When in large groups they can spread disease like rats. Their special food, cheese.

Pirates traits they are given when summoned are Sea sick and Fast Swimmer. Fast swimmer: Walk 10% faster in water. Pirates soldiers have harpoons as weapons. They also are given the One Eyed trait when summoned.

I think that citizens roaming around cities aimlessly is quite boring, so I propose a new feature, pastimes!

Pastimes would consist of citizens or soldiers partaking in various jobs or activities, here are some examples:

-Conversations: Whenever speech bubbles come out, citizens could have conversations with each other, similar to conversations in the Sims.

-Playing: Children will play tag, catch, hide and seek, and other games.

-Profession Tasks: People of certain professions will do things according to their profession, such as chopping wood, forging weapons, and more, all of this would be a process you can see.

-Practice: Soldiers can spar with each other or shoot arrows at targets, doing this could increase their strength, armor, attack speed, etc.

-Orderly walking: Citizens shouldn't just aimlessly roam about, they should stay near or on roads, having conversations or going about their day. Races that don't have roads like elves and orcs could just try not to be too weirdly spread out.

-Trading, Selling, and Markets: Citizens will sell wares on the street or in a possible new marketplace area, they would bargain for rare artifacts, food, weapons, or armor.

These are just a few ideas

I know, you can force them to go to war, make peace, but I feel like the game would be given a significant amount of depth if there was simply a way to control the actions of a civilization.
Like, choose what to spend your resources on, where to expand to, who to fight specifically, who to raid, what to build, where to build.

Recon.
Civilizations should send out people to do recon of surrounding areas before sending out a new village.
The recon should be focusing on finding area that is;
Away from hostile civilizations, close to resources (they should also focus more specifically on the ones their kingdom has the least of) and large patches of land.
If the recon is having a hard time finding a suitable area, more citizens will be sent out for further recon.
Now, what happens if they can't find any suitable areas for a village?
Here's how I would fix the aforementioned problem; the more territory the kingdom has mapped out with recon, the lower their standards will get for what is a good village spot.
So the longer the search goes on, the less and less they want, so they inevitably end up putting down a village in a more favorable spot than the AI would normally put it down.

Whenever a disease is widely detected, as a means to try to control it, kingdoms and villages will send out orders of isolation and self-quarantine.
The effectiveness of these orders largely depends on the loyalty.
Isolation and self-quarantine will usually upset the citizens, which will cause loyalty to decrease.
Only the workers required to keep the society functioning will remain outside, such as miners, farmers, loggers, and warriors.
During mass isolation and self-quarantining, the infected kingdom will try to make peace with as many other civilizations as possible (as they can't handle a war AND a disease)

New rebellion system
Instead of entire cities turning against the capital kingdoms should be literally divided. If some city leader wants to turn against the king, kingdom divides into two factions which can exist within one city. Soldiers belong to one of the factions based on their traits and how good the king or rebellion leader is. For example when faction of rebels has 30 soldiers and king loyalists have 40 soldiers within the same city they start fighting. Whoever wins takes over the city. Rebels appear all over the kingdom instead of few selected cities.

My idea is to add 3 tiers for kingdoms towns

Countryside: this would be a mainly farming district area for the kingdom with a couple low tier house dotted around the benefit of this tier would be preserving the natural environment as well as reducing lag by having less high density areas and I would imagine they would appear farther from the capital and at kingdom borders

Regular towns:
Basically just what we have now not much explanation needed

Cities:
because modern update ew and that tall buildings would take up lot of space on the map instead maybe have similar buildings to what we have now except they are more fancy and have more stuff like fountains etc also all farms would be reduced to being mostly in the countryside but also in small amounts in the towns I would imagine cities would usually be places like the capital or areas with docks that have a lot of trading ships going through .

I think that the countryside could also have animal pens but that would require a whole new system and stuff so eh
Also this seems like it would require lot of time to be added so maybe it could be added gradually in each update
I think that this system would add lot more diversity to different the towns that kingdoms have as well as allowing some things to work better (example: zombie disease being able to spread easier in countrysides because there aren’t huge armies everywhere killing one every time one shows up)

Peasant Revolts!These kind of revolts occurs when civilians are dissatisfied with the government. With this, there should also be new features that affects loyalty which is "population is satisfied" (+45) and "population not satisfied"(-45). This very much depends on the leader's traits, the economy and food. If the government fails to provide for the population and the people are getting more angrier, majority of the civilians in the cities where populations are dissatisfied will start rioting. Soldiers in said cities will try to fight the rebels, however, some of them may join the rebellion. If the city is captured, the leader, if survive the battle, will get
executed by the mob. After that, the rebels will try to attack other cities and possibly influence other civilians to join them,which is very unlikely if they are satisfied with the government. The government will also try to respond by sending armies to suppress the revolt. As a result, the peasants will sometimes get support by rival kingdoms and used guerilla warfare,making revolts last longer. If the revolt was ever a success, a new kingdom will be founded. If it failed, the kingdom would have suffered economically depending on how much damage the rebels had inflicted.

Bandit Improvements!

Some general ideas I think could add some depth to these dangerous boys:

  • Bandits of every race. Perhaps civilized creatures could even become bandits under certain circumstances, or by means of a power like Zombies.

  • A group of enough bandits in a relatively isolated location may form a camp, and organize into a Gang. Gangs would act as a sort of subvariety of civilization, and would allow bandits to become more coordinated, planning raids on small villages, or extorting gold from them.

Gangs would be led by the meanest bandit in the group, who would be promoted to a "Gang Boss", and would behave not unlike a king. Gangs may even initiate small wars with other Gangs when another sets up shop nearby.

Though the bandits organize, their infrastructure will likely not progress much past tents and shacks.

Fix the kings please. The kings are first priority for the best item so they end up pretty strong compared to the soldiers yet they just sit away from the battle when they should be on the front lines. With the upcoming update, it seems that kingdoms will be given even more unique and interesting abilities and details, however I think that with these new features that is would be a good time to perhaps introduce some new races to further spice things up.
Here are a few ideas

  1. Lizardmen : They prefer deserts (possibly swamps and savannas if added) being lizards, they have the slowest hunger rates to survive in such a place. They could lay eggs like chickens that then hatch into lizard hatchlings. Scales given them good armor. Hates orcs, humans, and dwarfs. If dinosaurs are added perhaps they can be passive to the lizardmen like how the elves are passive with wolves and bears. Their special food they can make perhaps Ribs?
  2. Goblins : similar to orcs but shorter, weaker, and prefer using bows. The breed faster than humans. They can be conquered by orcs or conquer orcs and confederate into their kingdoms. Hates dwarfs, humans, and elves. Their special food, perhaps crab cake ?
  3. Dark elves : hates regular elves. Likes Orcs and goblins, possibly passive to necromancers or evil wizards. Perhaps they can be created by cursing a regular elf? Their special food, perhaps honeycomb?
  4. Ratkin : instead of just being spawned could be created alternatively by cursing a rat king turning it into a Ratkin. shortest lifespan of all the races, breeds faster than any of other races. Hates everything other than rats, very rebellious. When in large groups they can spread disease like rats. Their special food, cheese

I think how damage and knockback works should be tweaked, its kinda weird to drop a tsar bomb and have a bunch of people just get knocked into the ocean and not die from it
