Accuracy is mainly determined by the bucking you use, barrel length doesn't matter, opposed to in real life.
You could swap the handguard, inner and outer barrel if you don't wanna buy a whole new gun. Alternatively, I can personally recommend Specna Arms Edge rifles but there's quite a few decent choices out there

If you are going to use paint pens for cosplays it’s best to use oil/solvent based ones as the paint and how they adhere is very different compared to something like poska markers

You will be limited to certain colors of course, but if you want something special I suggest krink markers out of New York, some of the best colors and paints I’ve found in a marker

Because I speak from firsthand that repro optics won't hold zero even on an airsoft gun, often aren't visible during the daytime, will be too bright under nods most of the time (which he did say he wants to milsim), and they're just not durable. If you're going to buy some shitty chinesium optic you'd legitimately be better off not buying one at all and just using your irons or point shooting.

He has an actual budget. There's no reason to get some cheap shit just to be unsatisfied with it and drop twice the money in the end to upgrade to a nice optic.
