What are some upgrades I could do to my Cyma platinum to make it reliable enough to survive a MSW event

I know the mosfet is very hit or miss mine seems fine but I need to run it more before I make a decision on it’s reliability

I would use my VFC workhorse rifle but it’s not accurate to the early 2010s Ranger impression kit I’m doing

Joule isnt usually dependant on BB weight (with powerful guns). You will get the same with 0.45, it's just the speed of the BBs that changes.

E = ½mv²
You lose velocity(m/s), you gain mass(m), leaving your energy (joules) the same

Doesn't apply always if the gun has nearly no energy to begin with and can't push the BB past the hopup bucking. But with that gun, it wont really change.

What you could do is weak gas for it (blue gas I think), that will lower the fps. You could also install an Orga 6.23 barrel which will lose you ~30% joules but gain you a lot of accuracy and range.

Edit: You can also get Joule creep when your gun is very powerful, meaning it will shoot more with heavier BBs because the lighter BB leaves the barrel too quickly and there is still expanding gas/ air behind it. But that increases your joules with heavier BBs, which is why you shouldn't chrony with 0.2s

Sorry if I'm getting into it too much, here's an example of what's going on. This is my AEG shooting 0.2, 0.3 and 0.45g BBs. Notice how the velocity changes but the joules remain almost identical

i don't think the range is improved that much, maybe 5 meters over using some maple leaf bucking but it performs better in the cold and the trajectory of the bb is a lot flatter

the hopup bucking may freeze, ruining your range

it doesn't break it or anything, that poor guy is just cold and does not work like it's supposed to
