Ah so you were just explaining what crico is
Yeah we had to do it to ourselves too but in combat I personally wouldn’t do it to a fully conscious patient
thought you were explaining a scenario where you wouldn't put in NPA
I distinctly remember it in Stryker First Responder course pre deployment
Upside of doing that in training, if you have stuffed nose it clears it up quite good
At least it did with me
Oh no this was training and very conscious
Jesus Christ lol they had funny names for CLS back then
@compact dagger so you are a full time soldier or do you have like periods of service
Full time
Yeah that’s what I mean we had to do it to ourselves while conscious during training as well
But currently, since coming back from deployment my whole time at base/training was like 3 weeks total
that's in past 3 months
Okay
Bro it was Ranger Batts brainchild. It was a couple week crash EMT course called Ranger First Responder. They gave it to us and they literally changed the name and opening PowerPoint slide ha
Hot days are over for a while
who, me ?
I teach RFR every Thursday after the RAP week ruck haha
Queue me updating the slides every month
Because some shit changes
Ha I imagine it’s changed a lot now but it was just a copy of what they had going on in the compound
Always changing
Question for Izu
Cuz I remember some of them are just squares with adhesive, but some brand also had like Y shape inside without adhesive so blood can go out
Yes
I just remember the NPA training well cuz it sucked and we also did IV training in low light under NODs in it.
I remember the ones with the silver package does and some of the newer green ones
Getting a line in under PVS14s, not an easy task
We stopped teaching IV’s to regular 11B’s and stuff
You can guess why
Someone fucked up
Lol
I hope we will get some more training with Brits or Americans sometime soon, but I feel like if it's gonna be CLS stuff I won't be able attend
which sucks, because I like to learn side stuff aside from my main role
Bro when the Australians saw us stick each other with IV’s with fluids and all during training they were mortified
Just in case i'd ever need to transfer to different unit and maybe get sent to CLS training i'd at least know some shit
Stuff has proven useful before, since when we were learning some new stuff it was easier because I at least knew something about the subject
What counts as "and all"
And by training you mean just general military training or just CLS ?
Like general training
We would do it while inside a vehicle on bumpy roads during Evac etc
I also have to say this, as a combat medic I’m not the type to want to sit on a patient like some of the younger medics are, my main priority is getting the dude off the X, stabilizing them and getting them Evac’d instead of doing alot of procedures that would take me out of the fight
For stuff like that i'd like to be present, because if I don't learn how to do it, it's nice to see people actually doing it,
I try to impart this to my soldiers but some of em wanna be fucking wannabe battlefield surgeons and shit
Watching too many movies
If you start doing invasive procedures and shit it will take you out of the fight as a medic or first responder and in the case of someone else going down you are cooked
I tell em save it for the role 1
Well, personally as a stupid grunt that's sometimes a radioman I get both sides, on one hand, you are doing everything you have to to better the odds of the patient surviving and getting him the fuck out, but on the other side the guys want to "get him better"
Shit wording but I hope you understood what I meant
Priority is always get them to the next level highest of care
Fuck I need to start playing ArmA again to boost my English back to the level it used to be
Bro all the IV training days for 11B was scarier than combat.
This is why they stopped teaching regular infantry dudes IV’s
Also we stopped giving regular saline unless required or if we are pushing meds and TXA.
Hextend isn’t a thing anymore
And another reason why i'd want to go and train with those guys is that they ain't poor, so we wouldn't have to play pretend with some of our shit
What ends up happening is giving a GSW patient just straight up normal saline doesn’t do anything, if anything all it does is dilute what blood remains
From what I heard, even for the AFA course they didn't want to give old fucked up uniforms so they could put wounds with blood and allow to cut clothes
Without a mountain of papers
This is why we carry whole blood now
And for Ranger first responder we have walking blood banks
Ya it’s definitely changed a lot
The trauma triad of death is a medical term describing the combination of hypothermia, acidosis, and coagulopathy. This combination is commonly seen in patients who have sustained severe traumatic injuries and results in a significant rise in the mortality rate. Commonly, when someone presents with these signs, damage control surgery is employed...
Hypothermia feeds into not being able to clot and not being able to clot feeds into acidosis which feeds to hypothermia
I just remember the term saline and ringers being used a lot. I don’t really recall the context tho. I do know it was pretty common to rehydrate with saline bags on Sunday nights after a hard weekend.
It’s a cycle
Doc always having to replace the CLS bag inventory
Luckily my only interaction with a CLS was when we were bored as fuck on a patrol and he did IV access and one IV fluids
Hypothermia = trauma blanket
Coagulopathy = 2g of TXA (Tranexamic acid)
Acidosis = blood infusion
If you can get on top of these 3
You can save them with a 90% chance
by trauma blanket you mean the foil/space blanket ?
had a question about those, which I forgot to ask yesterday in class
Won't the patient overheat ?
Every GSW patient needs to be warmed, losing blood makes you cold because blood regulates your temps
If you do it in summer
Doesn’t matter
Or the bloodloss will make him cold anyways
Correct
okay
Was just wondering, if it wouldn't cook the guy inside because it insulates him, and he'd just overheat
If he had blood loss you wanna warm him up either way
Yea now I get it, for some reason didn't think about him being cold because of bloodloss
On top of this monitoring vitals is important, on the off chance he does get too hot like body temp of over 102F then bring back down by taking it off
I was about to say that giving him colder IV saline could also work, but remembered you saying that saline isn't that good for bloodloss since it'd dilute blood
Yeah
Not giving saline unless I’m pushing meds via IV
Like ketamine
We don’t use morphine anymore
And fentanyl is very uncommon now
We got our morphine taken away, at least in KFOR becuase some morons decided to chill when back at base
Not in our rotation, but some time beforehand
I have to write a sworn statement everytime I break the seal for ketamine
It’s a pain in the ass because I use this for airborne injuries
what do you mean airborne injuries ? As in after jumping with parachute ?
Yup
What would be most common injuries/causes ?
Improper landing ?
As in not preparing correctly, not tucking legs before landing, or whatever was the proper way for good landing
Had any injuries that wasn't the jumpers fault ?
yea
okay maybe not terrible, but just mid at best
everybody gets into decent shape during fdf conscription. At least those who serve full year, NCOs, Officers and special positions
For me it's that because i'm lazy when I don't have to do shit
And I can't force myself to do something without company
but those who serve only half a year its quite rough six months
Like, when deployed I was going to the gym, but after 2nd month I stopped, becuase my roommate stopped going
yeah
I don't even need him to work out with me, it's more of him actually going there with me, he can be on the other side of the gym doing whatever
I just need someone to go there with me
I see a lot of 40+ in good shape in active reservist events
year-olds*
dont know if its encouraging (it actually is)
or depressing 😅
well encouraging if you are looking up to them, and depressing if you ( like me ) don't have motivation to go to gym or just do any type of activity
then you start thinking, wtf, even this old guy can do more than I can
yeah
Oh, I know this think. I saw it in our school camping

sovietskaya sobaka
always love seing some ifakporn
I don't think so, but probably frowned upon since it so easily devolves into bickering
To catch a ban you'd probably have to post a successful drone strike
Laser cut mollle 🤮
laser cut molle is fine it's just a pain
I got a good parody Wagner patch
Cope and seethe
It's an ugly way to save three cents and two ounces
I got a ronin tactics plate carrier. Thing is pretty nice
Eh I guess?
I like it real mini map?
It’s a Shaw concepts pcp but I do own a legit minimap
Crye spc with fallout deformity
Nice Shaw gear
The JPC rip off?
Pretty much lol
just had a couple buckets of chicken and decided to get out and do some airsoft with the pals rate the kit
Sheesh average pmc on reserves rn
Oh you got one of the old gen carriers
Ok. I got a repro mini map on mine cuz I can’t afford the $400 real one lol
Yeah, the new one looks a little silly. Couldn't find a crye so I went with that one
Yea honestly not worth it besides the novelty
I got mine in 2022 and it didn’t even include the patch
I upgraded from an fcpc to the Shaw arc
Best investment I’ve made
If you want structural integrity out of a jpc looking carrier just get an spc
Good carrier, just hate when dudes overload it for more than it’s able to carry then call it mid like no shit
It’s not an lbe
very few people are overloading a jpc
boys it's so joever
I felt a bump on my leg and thought it was a pimple or something and ended up pulling a fucking tick off
I gotta make sure its head isn't still on
fuuuuuck
update: doesn't look like the bastard's head came off on me
Am I the only one that doesn't like the shoulder strap design of the JPC?
Just doesn't look like it would be particularly durable
it is
i dont think so no
nikita??
nikita brother
it may be
LYME TIME
Looks like fun
Crye AVS
I use an agilite k zero for the army
None of the above
That movie was so bad lol
I just mean none of that will happen any time soon. There are no signs that precede a civil war.
It would probably involve gross violations of the constitution
With many many instances of civil unrest
But this isn't a topic the mods like us having
I just think y'all need to secure that damned border
Europe
Go to any major Mediterranean city. It's wild
Barcelona wow
You have to step over dozens of migrants just to get to the subway lol
Self sustainment will carry you further than body armor ever will
Plates are made to save your life, not keep you in the fight
Food water and shelter
Watch a channel called “the outdoor boys”
That’s a good example of what to prep for
Outdoor boys is the best
Inspires me so much lol
I love his Alaskan cabin
Love me some back country camping
My truck is a great adventure machine but a setup that can be carried on your person is just so much more versatile
You have a power bank yet?
Not yet
I’m working on my offroad stuff more for now
I bought sliders a few days ago but have had some trouble with the install
I have a jackery 1500 with 2 panels.
So nice
Beauty. Good deal. My sliders were like $2,000+
Very good deal
They are 1400 bucks new before shipping
It has a little rust but is mechanically sound
They're aluminum don't worry
They are 120 pounds between the two of them
Actually no I just googled it, it’s steel
Definitely needs a new coat
I’ll wire brush it and spray some coating on it
True. Stronger
Yep
They’re DOM tube
Cali raised sliders are DOM standard but CBI needs that as a spec
Mf GOOGLE IT
If you are this out of the loop around carriers you probably aren’t the guy who would actually get use out of a system like that
You’re gonna want the harness as well
Get a cheap TAPS, FLC, or some other cheap but real vest and train with it and learn what you need before dropping thousands on something fancy
An AVS without the harness is just a subpar jpc lol
Buy used and you’ll save some money
@low fox check out the agilite k zero with war fighter cummerbund
Ah mine are also steel lol. I always thought they were aluminum
Usually sliders, skids, and bumpers are steel for the extra strength
Aluminum is better for bed racks and such
Well, in your case roof racks
Star wars died years ago
But Lego star wars is dope
Did you watch the new show
It's the worst piece of televisiom I've ever watched
It's so bad I don't even have words to describe
Yes but the writing just makes no sense
Boba fett sucked. Mando seasons 1-2 was great. 3 it fell off.
The best Disney star wars IP was rogue one
And even that was close to being terrible.
That show only got better and better
It's amazing how many fans haven't seen it yet
Can't get past the cartoon thing
The series finale
Wow
Speaking of tear jerkers
You ever play gears of war?
Man. The trailer for the new one
Hits the heart strings
It won't mean much to you if you haven't played the old ones
I'll finish it sometime
@low fox this is a jedi in the acolyte
Qui Gon chins
Night

what the fuck??? rouge one is fucking dope as shit
as someone who has been watching star wars literally my entire life
saw ROTS in theaters at the age of 2
Like I said. It's the best Disney star wars product yet
I said it was very close to being shit due to some wild choices during production. Watch the making of it. Very interesting
The Vader scene was added like a month before release lol
Imho clone-wars/bad batch were better than any of live action ones
Especially early seasons for clone wars, as a cartoon you'd imagine it would be tame, but no, people dying left and right
It has some of the coolest action scenes out of any SW media for sure
But as a film? Mid at best
Any of y’all seen Andor? I heard that one was actually really good
I couldn’t get into Mando, the choreography during fight sequences was too “school theater production”-y for me
It's true. It didn't. But it still made for a good film.
The best spinoff! Film that is. Andor is the best show

Sent you a pm

raid backback way to overpriced in this game to irl price
Cool
What pack is that?
Agilite AMAP 3
The Agilite Modular Assault Pack III (AMAP III ) is the most versatile and universal military assault pack on the market. Designed, Battle-Tested and proven in Israel and behind enemy lines with the IDF’s most elite units. It has numerous unique features and capabilities that no other assault pack has. AMAP 3 Assault pack
Nice. Ship to us?
Agilite has a US store
Very nice. Good looking gear.

How do you remove or add layers when in the field? I understand the principle of “comfortably cold” but sometimes it has failed me
At my FTX we didn’t really have enough time to drop our packs and remove our gear to change layers before walking up mountains or something
Seeing you in a warm looking jacket with full gear reminded me of that, and I’m wondering if there’s some sort of niche clothing type that allows for more efficient layering in the field like that
Any hearing protection?
Take off your kit add or remove as needed. Obviously you won't be changing your underpants while getting shot at lol
My Arcteryx leaf cold wx is excellent for cold but I don't overheat if I'm active.
I tend to avoid long John's entirely unless I'm Doing something static. I always overheat in them when active
It’s very possible I just have shitty gear
FLC, medium molle, fleece top thing, waffle top, and a beanie
Dropping the medium molle kinda sucks, it’s a pain to fit over the FLC
I wanted to buy one of those so bad but you literally can’t
Boils my blood
A good tencate balaclava trumps a beanie any day
Just ask a cop buddy to buy for you.
Perhaps
No it's very common to overheat with layers or freeze from lack thereof
Planning ahead is the best way to avoid
It was very cold on my FTX, -7c and very mountainous terrain
It was hard to find a good balance in the layers
Oh that's tough
Thankfully I don't have to deal with extreme cold here lol
A cold wx wouldn't keep you warm in - 7
It was a very eye opening experience lol
I’m trying to prepare for it, we do one FTX a semester and there have been way colder ones than the one I experienced
Snow is almost guaranteed for the fall semester
It lasts 3 days so 2 nights
What is ftx
What kind though?
foam ones (im joking)
Just wear a gaming headset like that idiot from last week
field training exercise
we go onto a military base and play pretend for one weekend a semester
they give us like 30k rounds of blanks and we practice movements and attacks
its for rotc
Sounds fun
It was
The more it sucks in the moment the better of a memory you’ll have
and they had helicopters
Infantry in a nut shell
Unless your memories induce PTSD

Just stop having memories from combat traumatic brain injury. Problem solved
I don’t think I’ve had a dream in probably 15 years
You guys got some high speed shit in 4th RTB
Is that a dual plug headset?
yeh
Very nice
They’re fine dude. Just ask him.
Definitely recommend attaching a Turtle Beach from GameStop to that bad boy
wait
what?
lmao
Someone posted a video of themselves at an indoor range and their earpro was a gaming headset with mic still attached… scariest part there was range cadre standing next to shooter…
LOL
yeah you might have to yell the question at him tho
army strong lol Ft. Bragg/Liberty?
Before I say what we are wearing for when it's like -20 outside, what do you mean with medium molle and fleece top ?
Just so I don't end up saying the same exact shit with different words
Medium molle is the bag, and the fleece is known as the “fleece”
I don’t know it’s real term
It’s a black fleece jacket
Can be green if you are cool
basically something like this ?
Interesting that you can wear that stuff above the uniform
But for what we wear for like -15c to -20, is basically just a shirt, then a long sleeve shirt and waffle top, and uniform on top of that, or scrap long sleeves and waffle top for the fleece
The problem is less raw insulation and more the ability to shed layers rapidly without much notice
If we know for a fact that we will be staying there for longer time, like 3h+ we just throw a snugpak jacket under the uniform to keep you comfortably warm
Well if you have too much insulation or just too many layers you will sweat a bunch when active and then start freezing as soon as you stop for longer than a few minutes
I can be bundled up in my blouse, waffle top, and fleece, but if we suddenly need to pick up and do a 5 mile movement with intermittent defensive stuff it gets really challenging to manage the layers
Dropping the pack, removing the vest, and then fucking with the ruck to store or get more layers was very hard for me to do
To the point where I had to just thug it out most of the time and just be sweaty (cold)
It was around -1c during the day which wasn’t terrible, but at night it was pretty chilly
This is the terrain
seeing that you can wear stuff over the uniform top, if I were you i'd get the snugpak jacket ( I just know that brand and they are good, can get other ones ) , or something else that's warm, keep a bag pocket open so you can quickly dump it there if you have like 5 minute warning before leaving
And in open fields like that the jacket keeps the wind away, at least our one does, so it also doesn't chill you as much
As I said, for me it's different because we live in a flat country with a ton of forests, so the wind is the least of our problems
but still, wearing that stuff while in Germany for an FTX was good for us
sadly don't have a pic of bags we have
but from the picture alone it looks more massive than yours
Our load is about 40lbs plus the weapon and ammo
And water
Add 20 more if you need to carry the radio
It isn’t terrible but my cardio sucks lol
old harris boxes ?
The mountains kill me
radio i mean
I’m not sure, the more senior cadets lug them around
Not this exactly but i guess something along these lines ?
similar to ours, we have 45, plus weapon, ammo, food and water
nah this is a new one, just first image online that was similar to what we used also
Also, this an FN mag ? It just looks like ones we have, but at the same time it's different, because you have a handguard/just rails and the bipod is further back
and ours is on front of the weapon
or its a 5.56 lmg ?
To me everything looked like an FN MAG except that bipod and rails
Mag ?
You mean belt or those things also accept mags
I thought by mag you meant the magazine 💀
nah FN MAG as the weapon
nice
Though someone gave me their blanks so I basically became another machine gunner with the m4
Nobody told me not to put it in full auto lol
Never got to try and shoot 556 LMGs, guys from the larger base got to shoot with minimis
why not full auto ?
Feeding issues is what I heard, but it was feeding fine
interesting
Very low fire rate for a ar though
We can't put our piece of shit guns on full auto just because leadership doesn't like it
that we go through whole mag in a few seconds
💀
But, at least when noone is looking we tend to "drop" some of our blanks
I was doing 5 round bursts to try and be realistic
One time we "accidentally" misplaced like 2k of them
even tho to this day I remember the approximate location of the stash
so unless something was built over it I feel like it should be there
well here they are worthless
I looted a spent smoke grenade off the ground lol
If it would be possible to sell them to anyone I doubt there would be so many burried in the sand in our ranges
or polygons, idk whats the proper name for that stuff
Loaded machine gun belt links are pretty cool to have
Some guys took home small chunks of them
lol
Like 5 rounds chained together for the 240
Cool souvenir
Two people found antler sheds which was pretty cool too
Coolest thing we found on the field was like 155 round lodged in the ground
and a bunch of smaller ones
Loot
Our guys are super happy when they find antlers, they just take them home and sell them
I’d never sell one
That’s trophy loot
I have some leftover MREs on display above my fireplace lol
Next to my smoke grenade
imho its a trophy when you kill the animal
when you just find them meh
unless they are huge
then i'd understand
found the picture
after seeing it again I doubt it's 155
idk tho
Get more and make a sweet ashtray
One of our guys found a huge ass bomb shell from firing zone
It was like from some cartoon
You know, round and bulky
He lifted it on a tree stump to be on display. Staff didn't like it because you should not touch those.
well we fucked around with these since we know they are mostly harmless
Yeah but it's a common order not to touch old shit in fireing zone. You never know what they are. But yeah it was clearly detonated
in our case it's safe because it got fired into the zone where people and vehicles walk around
so they wouldn't shoot explosive stuff into non UXO zone
I don't question that hehe
would be different if it was near an uxo zone
except those training GMG rounds
they don't like that we tend to kick them time to time
Haha
Benning
Gonna be a sad day when it’s only known as Moore and Liberty because so much time has passed
It will always be Benning to me
No disrespect to Gen Moore but Benning’s name should be associated with the suck fest
This exactly. Too much history has been made at these places by units assigned to it.
This is the only correct take for not changing the name
V
Oh hey I've used that before
Not American so I've only used it by other names
Actual setup
Is that Russian
Ars arma yeah
Looks nice.
Platebag same, but its not a avs
Scanda plate carrier
I was just writing that
Nice thick and wide shoulder pads in the rear. Low profile front shoulder.
The cummerbund is gigantic however
@tawny bane is there space to insert side plates?
Why is there so much hook and loop on the rear of the bags?
I have soft armor for side
This?
Its universal
Amazing. Straps inside to tie them down?
one telescopic handle for evacuation, the other for carrying a vest
Yeah
One strap
About 220$
Wow.
why tf is it so blocky
@plush topaz got the full norarm set
top and bottom
bottom is a lil tight tho 😂
Idk
looks uncomfortable as shit

Any one have any good cheap steel target recomendations?
Caldwell uses AR-500 hardened steel
Was very tempted to buy one of these prior to getting my SKD PIG plate carrier
Here’s the plate carrier currently, missing a radio pouch and 2 banger pouches, (still in shipping)
looks nice
Cute
Plate carriers 2nd day outside starving because they could have only brought 2 twinkies
Felt cute, might kill scavs later
Thanks for the recommend. I'll check them out.
Hey guys can yall say if thats worth getting?
This one is technically 20 euro but in my currency its about 40 bucks, second use rig and its from MFH which I have no idea if its good or not
Apparently made from 1000D Cordura
@plush topaz IDF Puffer jacket
We get those?
no lmaooo, i found one thats ranger green in the civil market
And you're wearing it. In June.
It’s called LARP lol
Does it get cold over there?
I'd tell ya to get an ECWCS lv7 jacket, assuming you are mostly static.
Yes.
Can get below zero in some places
Celsius that is
My Arcteryx jacket is the best for this winter climate.
Yeah, if you're moving around, a lighter jacket is better, particularly one that still has some venting to let it breathe
If it's only barely below freezing in the worst of cases, not really worth going for the high loft jacket
Altyn's on top
#airsoft is one channel down
That eotech is faker than CNN
I aint spending 400 bucks 🙏
If you know who sells new eotechs for $400 spread the word my g.
That's a steal
XD Sorry I ment 629.00 USD
What you do is you buy an old busted one, then when you send it in, they'll tell you they can't repair it, and give you a 50% off code for any optic on their website.
c3po curtains are hard
I had those since I was 4 🗣️ 🔥
And you're how old?
Im 15 now
With real guns?
They are owned by my dad
Ah.nice
im have gun?
Sure. Take mine

i abdul
Hi Abdul
please dont become a all black kit bruh

Maska supremacy
Wtf the medic made you put that you have ED on your carrier
Could be for eating disorder not the other ED

Did a RAID Mod for the first time
This blouse was already a bit scuffed so it didn't bother me to mod it
Thanks

What’s the chest rig the groin pad guy is wearing
Old idf issue infantry vest. Hes just fat so it doesn't close
The three buckles keeps it secure though. The Velcro on those wore out super fast anyways.
Looks like a neat vest
Outdated sure but it reminds me of the old LBV the US guys got issued
I still use mine on occasion. It's a good vest. Tough
Nice
bussin
Garandthumb Rogue Boss at Lighthouse wearing 'USEC Woodland Infiltrator' clothing and 'Eagle Allied Industries MBSS plate carrier'~~?
raid mod W
the difference in these pictures is obscenely funny 😂
what?
it’s a crye m81 top and a crye JPC 2.0
its look like russia "lies" camo pattern
Which pictures
that and the first one you sent with you and the fat dude
Ah different kit entirely. Different mission.
I need to get a Small Long blouse to do this to next time
Raidmod and its consequences has been a disaster for the human race
Do you wear heels with your blouse
Why those chest pockets so large
Makes everything look disproportionate tbh
Because they're the pockets from the waist of the blouse
Only with fishnets
please untuck your blouse
also invest in a belt
Go on
A, it's a RAID mod so you can tuck them in, B I have a belt but didn't feel like putting it on these pants
I agree tho untuck them jawns
Ok
Would look better with a better fitting shirt
so many skinny bastards
@plush topaz i’m finally outside of the realm of skinny bastard
around 197 every morning rn
140ish last i checked, lol
like i said. skinny bastard
Nice. You're my weight!
wanna see the difference between when i graduated basic training to now? it’s wild
Ya
i’ll dm you it
im 120lb
You're also super young
im also on hrt so i dunno if im gainin much past this point
since that just kinda evaporates upper body mass usually
Aren't you still in technically speaking?
I'm a reservist. Not currently deployed. I was referring to my mandatory conscription
Ah fair enough I guess different cultures treat it differently.
Everyone in Israel, unless exempted, does reserves until they're in their 40's
Ah fair I can see how you don't count it as being in.
In peacetime you'd do maximum a month service a year. Sometimes less.
In most of europe reserves are voluntary. (I think only Switzerland and Finland being exceptions)
Yes volunteer armies would be different than conscription
Yeh
Then again apart from heavy equipment and nods most civilian shooters have better guns than military xD
And shoot better too
Well duh xD
Spooke to an army guy a couple of years back that said
Oh ye we get to shoot plenty once a month we go to the range and shoot one battle kit (that being ~150-250 rounds)
I don't have a lot of ammo rn and still shoot ~400 rounds last big range trip xD
Gotta remember since the end of GWOT it changed a lot. Training budgets significantly decreased. Before this it wasn’t uncommon to go to a platoon level range and shoot 2000 or more rounds a day per weapon system. This was often in a weekly basis.
Oh I don't mean US specifically.
(I'm Europoor)
A lot of smaller EU armies spend most of the budget on salary soon very little gets allocated for maintenance/training.
Thank you for the response
2 mag pouches that store 2 mags each I think
Yeah it has 2 bigger pouches for anything else so I think I can store stuff in them too
45 bucks in my currency
Yeah
Is that an MPLCE British rig or smth?
Yeah and its def cheaper in comparison with other rigs from the same website
I have an Alpentarn m70 jacket as well but wearing that terrarium on me in the summer would be hell
Yeh I should try and research more abt that rig
So I think the rig will be a nice addition for hotter weather
Yeah their newer variants seem more streamlined as well
Alice better
I am 128 currently trying to get my weight up while still eating healthy and going to the gym :[
I don't fit into a lot of clothes I would like to wear from 5.11
I like it a bit chillier
Nice man. Keep at it
Lean af. Good stuff
Do any of you guys know how to make chest rigs or plate carriers from scratch
I recently bought a sewing machine and want to start making tactical gear so if anyone has suggestions or tips they would be appreciated
Plenty of videos and guides online
It's pretty easy from what I've seen
Finally done with adding stuff (for now…)
what rigs yall recommend?
I’m personally a plate carrier guy, but I absolutely loved running the Crye AVS detachable chest rig. It’s an absolutely solid rig.
i want something lighter weight, have armor taken care of
i'll look into it, i appreciate it
just want something for a different use case
Spiritus Lv-119
Light as a feather
so ya'll are just running PCs without plates as rigs?
fuck trex
but was thinking something like this
maybe a little bigger
I have plates in there
Ultralight lvl3+
i see
But yes. You can use it empty
that could work, but still may be more weight than im looking for for hiking/rucking and such, i'll have to look into em
Yeah I didn't realize you meant chest rig.
I also have a spiritus rig. I just never use it
You want it? Lol
i doubt i would either, but i've been looking at them, seems like it could be nice for the woods type stuff around here. seems to be what most people are wearing to classes and such
lemme look into em
i could just use my PC without plates, but i keep it ready to go. almost feel like i would be better suited with a different set up.
Yeah. I never really walk in the woods armed. If I do I just have my rifle and one magazine.
At classes I always use armour.
Important to train with that extra weight
we have alot of great areas like red river gorge available to us here. a group of my buddies will go spend 2/3 days rucking out there. im hesitant if i would want to bring my plate carrier, with a ruck, and a rifle
Yeah too much weight.
seems like a rig would fit the bill better
But would be a nice challenge lol
i agree, but don't want to get caught making the realization that it's to heavy a day in and then im stuck with it
i was just thinking it would be nice to have one to grab instead of my PC
different use cases/etc
Ya good idea
Also gives. You good access to some stuff like flashlights knife whatever
yeah, i put it as an example saying i didn't want another PC
ah
was looking for someting more in that realm
well get an expandable microrig then
there's about 3 options taht are solid, I did research like 7 months ago
the ones I looked at can be run standalone, or be run on a PC
and expanded, or trimmed down
yeah, was looking for brand recs
the spiritus ones look neat though
that's the one I got btw
the MKV
pretty great
(I accidentally got sent two ssshhh)
there's also haley strategic
and I know the defense mechanism carrier system is pretty good
that one is as modular as it gets
@muted lynx you can swap placards between rig to carrier
Super quick
Inserts pouches and all
ye, I have a MEPC with a spiritus MKV and all it takes is unclipping 2 clips, some velcro, and redoing 4 clips
and it turns the placard to a microrig
takes like 45 seconds
that reminds me
I should set up that second rig sometime
Any pants are outdoor pants if you’re man enough
mostly I just don't want parts that will soak in water n sweat, get heavy, and are rugged enough to bush hike in
You could try some of those alpentarn pants that went with the m70 jacket
A lot of those came with a type of material that prevents the pants from getting wet
Or just get long boots
Good pants are worth the wallet weep
My Arcteryx leaf pants are the shizzz
Probably, but at the same time I've found so.e awesome edc pants here and there for less than 100 usd
While on the subject
0% cotton the play?
Or is a well formulated mix way better
Ripstop is always a mix I think
me with two 250 dollar plus pair of pants
Crye G3s will forever be worth the money
I use crye G3 fields for garrison wear
guys
to use with ranger green gear
what camo/color combat shirt to get?
i was thinking ranger green, DNC or DFL
look at buying used too, its so much cheaper and most people arent hard on their gucci shit cause its mostly larpers

So real
@plush topaz i don’t understand why y’all wanna stay here so bad. this area of the world fuckin sucks 😂
Where ya at
I'm in Jerusalem today at the wailing wall
It's illegal to drink in Kuwait. Obviously it sucks.
apparently they serve beer in the chow hall for 4th of july
But believe it or not the gulf states are some of the safest places on earth..... When they're not murdering each other lol
still a shithole 😂
Not looking forward to my August deployment. I'm more scared of the heat than Hamas
lol
Absolutely. Israel is nothing like those places
i got to drive a bradley for about 25 k through the desert today
that was kinda dope
That's sick
it’s still hotter than shit and a terrible climate
we had an apache fly over us mid drive too
my gunner didn’t get a video tho
No hotter than some southern US states. Should specify I was referring to Israel not Kuwait. Kuwait is death
i mean true, but not this early in the year
when i lived in cali it wasn’t 110 in late april
Ok you're in Kuwait bro. Peak desert lol
I don't know how people manage to survive in that kind of heat 😭
Acclimitaztion
It’s not too bad when you get used to it
But it does suck
Its not normally real hot were I am from but recently we did get a heat wave of 110 and I was dying
The shit that gets people are hot and humid places
They wear pajamas
But ya it's brutal. I'm Canadian I can't handle it
Mainly cold over there?
Depends where. But no matter where it cools down September to may
They kept us in Kuwait for about 2-3 weeks for “acclimation” on every deployment prior to sending us into Iraq. It was a miserable time. I’m convinced it was just to piss is off and making us want to fight anything and everything once up north.
💀
anyone ever tried earmor M32 milpros MK3?
agilite k19
Hot off the press
Bruh wtf
Meanwhile I show clips from “The outpost” when I teach ranger first responder
Haha
fuck yeah
u know the latvian in it
janis laķis?
Yeh
he was my glock instructor
Hell yeah
dude is a fucking unit
sad though, he lost his family due to ptsd and shit after
i mean imagine going through something like that there
OMG
He meant chest rigs
Chest ribs
Wait is he saying that they can't show war movies to ranger classes?
or is this BCT?
Funny enough 30th AG
It’s just circulating around Moore
brother what
Funny that our fucking staff instructors recommended us to see like Full Metal Jacket and other war movies
Fr
We also watched one Finnish classic and analyzed the leadership and different type of leaders
Because the classic was based on true story written during war
And filmed less than 10 years after the war
Many of the actors participated
Non trainers and quitters is wild, like do you not know what you’re signing for or are you just going ranger to get the little tab to fuel your brittle self esteem
This is why I didn’t do drill
I would probably end my career when I lose my shit
Thankfully the context behind this came from 30th AG and nowhere else
We don’t entertain this bullshit here in ranger
Most of those fucking kids who claim they wanna be ranger or whatever are usually the first ones to chicken out
Love it
I'm not too familiar with the different units. Rangers are like a bit tougher guys than basic infantry? Or are rangers the basic infantry
It’s light infantry with an amazing budget for training and equipment
Like we have infantry and jaegers
Rangers are the premier light infantry unit for the US Army and is a part of Special operations command
Yeah I guess its pretty much same as the jaegers
Or synonymous with small unit leaders course. Both “ranger” but not the same
If there’s anything I learned not all units are equivalent to each other even though there are parallels
And USMC is like completely different army. And different tactics. I guess many Europeans don't know the difference.
But iirc usmc was established for the island warfare
The Pacific
USMC is weird, they formed their own identity of being shock troops
Yeah
Don’t let them fool you though they aren’t first to the fight like they want you to believe
MF’s still salty they never participated in the largest amphibious operation in Us Military history
Haha
And then you have navy troops. But like their only "infantry" is devgru/seals?
Hah oh yea
They really don’t have infantry really, USMC is also under the dept of the navy
Yeah that's what I thought
Navy seals is just a small group, not too much related to actual navy?
USMC maybe first to whatever location they are deployed to but they aren’t like Rangers/SF and 82nd/101st where they can be deployed anywhere in the world within 16-24 hours
Small group with not a lot of oversight hence the reason why they are in trouble lately
Yeah
They were able to operate without much scrutiny during GWOT but stuff is starting to come out
Green berets and delta are considered more professional because they don’t act like cowboys
Unlike seals
I know what you mean hah
Those dudes always on the shit list
USMC is very good with PR not gonna lie
They convinced people about the whole first in last out thing
so yeah, 30th AG reception had to put a memo out, because trainees were quiting after realizing what they signed for?
More like a guidance, no memo as of yet
im fucking flabbergasted
Dude I remember when I went thru 30th AG they just had Blackhawk down on repeat
My god the world is soft now. I hope we never do have to initiate a draft. The ones scared of rated R war movies are the hardened warriors of today’s society…imagine the soft batch
we didnt have shit, it was terrible
literally didnt sleep for like 5 days, got to our actual BCT unit, then didnt sleep for another week
i was done quick
Shit drove me insane
dmd
I sat in 30th AG for 3 weeks. All day sitting in the floor of the bays in the old gray PT sweats not allowed to touch the bunks til lights out. No movies…just sitting
They had us watch movies because when we got there it was technically still new year block leave
Homemade playing card decks crafted out of pen and paper
And there were no civilians and a skeleton crew of drills and other cadre
That was our only entertainment for 3 weeks. Ya you only saw a drill when it was time for chow hall movement.
Lol when they resumed regular operations we only had the blue book
The excitement was spray painting name and last 4 with stencils on duffels
We had duct tape And printed labels
My favorite was when they forgot about us about our initial OCIE draw, just lined up outside of the barracks with 2 filled duffels on our back and front in the rain wearing summer PT’s
For 8 hours after dinner chow
We weren’t allowed to move
Did they have guys not get glasses for the entirety of BCT?
You have the gray/black PTs?
Because we had guys like that
And no drills or anything came for us
I didn’t get mine until 3 weeks in
I had the black PT’s
We had guys go through the entirety of basic without ever being issued glasses and dog tags
Lol that’s ass
I didn't get gas mask inserts
Oh shit. We got the OLD all gray sweats. Got the gray/black at first unit
See I really wish we had like an actual sweatshirt
not this stupid polyester piece of shit
Fuck dude I have 4 more hours hopefully before I can go home
give me like normal sweatpants and like a normal sweatshirt and I'd be happy as a fucking camper
We are doing urban insertion techniques for RSLC right now
Shit is super slow
But we’re down to 25 students
How long has left right now?
And out of a class of what
I’ve been in Arizona for 2 weeks for my new job certification. Took the final today. Fly home in morning finally. Miserable here. 114* today
The star course is RSLC is harder than SFAS lol
yeah I didn't pass mine, I'm dreading because now it's part of blc
I’ve done the ranger land nav at least 6 times now
So whenever I want to go for 5 I have to pass land nav
Yup
It’s not hard
Honestly
Just learn to plot your points, don’t just dead reckon and know your pace counts
This to the T
My job fucking won't
in all actuality I probably just iterations down At some point
I also take into account terrain hazards
Oh trust me I already know that
I plot waypoints if I have to go around shit like rivers and or whatever
I refuse to ever follow a fire break ever again because that dotted line that said it was a fire break just emptied us into a fucking swamp
Sometimes the juice isn’t worth the squeeze when ur forced to choose between getting wet or adding time to your trip
Plus I don’t know how deep that wet gap crossing is
Lmao
Bro I was not having a fun time
it was a shitty photocopy map that we got, and basically 4 of my points were in one area then I had to basically follow a dirt road into the 5th point and then basically I thought I could follow a little firebreak directly N and it would get me to the main road where I could just get to the gathering point
yeah that was a fucking lie, the fire break that I saw abruptly ended and then continued with a printing error
so I was just trudging along the swamp basically just following grid north
Because I knew at some point I was just going to hit the road but it would have been quicker to literally just backtrack because it took me probably an hour to get through that swamp
Yeah ours weren't
self correcting I can do okay i've done it before but man bct landnav sucked
they put three points right next to each other i'm talking like 20 meters away from each other, and then didn't make them self correcting
I had one of those points
Lol when I did BLC majority of my class were from 7th group or 3/75
They made it slightly harder so there’s a learning moment there
Night land nav was fun
I'm glad we have conscription
All of europe should have
I remember night land nav at PLDC but I think we only did day at BNCOC/ALC or whatever they call it
@old portal if they bring back conscription we’d probably have to start beating people again
The more you two talk the more I am glad I did not go infantry
Or combat arms in general
You should be glad lol
