Can someone tell me exactly what "boosting" is? If a friend I run with needs some bloodsets or something, is it against the rules for me to give them to him? What are the limits? Can I trade with people in-game outside of the flea market or is that not allowed?

Boosting commonly refers to the "illegal", for lack of a better term, transaction where players will pay cheaters to help progress them in the game. That violates 2 parts of the ToS, first being the obvious cheating and the second making a profit off the game. Giving your friends small stuff like bloodsets is fine, but the BattlEye, the anticheat, will flag larger, more valuable trades as potential RMT. We don't allow trading in this server due to BSG's policy on that.

whoever thought it was a good idea to push scav karma in its current state needs to be mentally evaluated, this system is so unbelievably broken, lost rep for killing raiders and had another instance of losing rep for shooting at a group that were killing people and because one of them hadn't killed anyone yet i lost rep for shooting both of em. this system needs some serious work before it will ever even be something close to good, i haven't been higher than 0.2 rep because of the raiders

they need to make it so if you are in a party and shoot someone everyone in the party should be marked as hostile, same if someone shoots at your party everyone should be able to return fire.

what extracting from cars can give rep for a handful of raids, then the duo extracts almost never happen unless you and a friend are farming them, there is no way to realistically earn rep unless you think killing 600 pmcs or hostile scavs without a mistake is a realistic way to get max rep. imo there needs to be a scav in raid trade system so if i drop something and another player scav not in my party picks it up they should be rewarded with rep depending on the items current flea market value or smth

To some extent. Was to stop people farming raiders and AI for loot on scavs and then extracting immediately. It’s meant to reward you for long term holding to that social rule. So it has to be quick to lose, slow to gain, or people would just rush gain then kill a bunch of raiders then farm it up again

Use it or lose it, the game wipes. Maybe don't run your best stuff 24/7 but if theres a quest you need to get done and its in a sketchy spot, that would be the time to bust out that level 5 armor and good ammo. If you die with it, it could come back from insurance. If you leave it in your stash, it'll be gone for good when the next wipe hits.

Also if you don't have a friend showing you the ins and outs I would highly recommend going to #beginners-assistance and asking for a sherpa. Since the maps are static theres a lot to memorize. Yeah it's pretty inconvenient, I guess just make sure it fits all the requirements listed by mechanic in the task. If it does and it won't let you hand it in make sure the chamber and mag are empty, if it still won't try restarting the game

I'm not actually 100% certain the exact damage for multiple fragments, but I do know that multiple fragments after the first will deal reduced damage compared to the original fragment

So it will deal more damage if it fragments twice, but not as much as the first fragment
