And their game was in beta for a bit too, but they got a ton of reports and were able to fix their problems over time. They constantly released patches, and put stuff like "we know about these bugs, and are working to fix them"

From my side, I see multiple good points to this. First, 1 report a day means the user is not going to send a duplicate of the report the same day as he didn't get any answer within 2h. It also encourages to put quality reports and from what I see, it helps, as we get a lot fewer "no exploitable" reports than before
